Abstract

Latar belakang: Timbal (Pb) sebagai logam berat pernah dijadikan sebagai bahan aditif pada bensin. Pb dalam bentuk tetraetiltimbal (Pb2(C2H5)4) yang membantu proses pembakaran pada mesin kendaraan menjadi lebih halus dan cepat. Pb pada bahan bakar berdampak merugikan bagi lingkungan sekitar termasuk manusia. Pada saat pembakaran, Pb dilepas ke udara bersamaan dengan asap kendaraan. Senyawa yang dilepaskan tersebut berdampak negatif bagi kesehatan. Efek pertama keracunan timbal kronis sebelum mencapai organ target adalah gangguan haemoglobin dan berakibat pada menurunnya kadar haemoglobin. Gangguan anemia akan timbul bila kandungan Pb lebih dari 70 ug/dl atau setara 0,7 ppm. Berkaitan dengan efek  negatif  Pb dalam bensin, maka sangatlah penting untuk mendeteksi dan memperkirakan frekuensi kadar Pb dalam dalam darah pekerja pengisi bahan bakar (pekerja SBPU) yang melakukan kontak langsung dengan bahan bakar.Metode: Sebanyak 11 orang pekerja pengisi bahan bakar dan 2 orang pegawai administrasi menjadi responden dan kontrol dalam penelitian ini. Kriteria inklusi adalah jenis kelamin laki-laki dan perempuan dengan usia 20-40 tahun, dan kriteria eksklusi adalah yang tidak bersedia menjadi responden. Responden mengisi kuesioner dan di wawancara untuk mengetahui riwayat kesehatan, kemudian dilakukan pengambilan darah untuk dianalisis. Penentuan titik sampling berdasarkan metode purposive sampling dengan kriteria Stasiun Pengisian Bahan Bakar (SPBU) berada di daerah padat kendaraan dan beroperasi selama 24 jam.Hasil: Analisis darah menggunakan SSA Shimadzu 6300 menunjukkan kadar Pb<2.995 ng/nl. Hal ini mengindikasi tidak adanya Pb dalam darah responden. Tidak terdeteksinya Pb dalam darah diduga akibat responden terpapar Pb dalam jangka waktu singkat, penggunaan peralatan keselamatan (APD) saat bekerja, serta  dapat mengindikasi rendahnya kadar Pb pada bahan bakar kendaraan bermotor.Simpulan: Tidak terdeteksinya Pb dalam darah responden tidak berarti mengabaikan keberadaan Pb di dalam bahan bakar. Sangatlah penting untuk melakukan pemeriksaan kandungan kadar Pb secara rutin pada semua pekerja SPBU akibat resiko paparan Pb bagi kesehatan. ABSTRACT Title: Frequency Distribution Of Leads In Blood Workers Filling Fuel: Case Study Of Fueling Station at Plaju, South SumatraBackground: Lead (Pb) as heavy metal has been used as an additive in gasoline. Pb in the form of tetra ethyl lead (Pb2 (C2H5) 4) which helps the combustion process on the vehicle engine so that the engine sound becomes smoother and faster. Pb on fuel has a negative impact on the surrounding environment including humans. When burning in a vehicle engine, Pb is released into the air along with vehicle smoke. The compound released has a negative impact on health. The first of chronic Pb poisoning before reaching the target organ is the presence of haemoglobin synthesis disorder so that the haemoglobin level decreases. Anemic disorders will occur if the Pb content is more than 70 ug / dl or equal to 0.7 ppm. In connection with the negative effects of Pb in gasoline, it is very important to detect and estimate the frequency of Pb levels in the blood of fuel filling workers who make direct contact with fuel.Methods: As many as 11 fuel filling workers and 2 administrative employees became respondents and controls in this study.  The inclusion criteria were the sex of men and women aged 20-40 years, and the exclusion criteria were workers who were not respondents available. Respondents filled out the questioner and continued the interview to find out their medical history, then taking blood to be analyzed. Determination of sampling points based on purposive sampling method with the criteria of the Fuel Filling Station is in a crowded area of the vehicle and operates for 24 hours.Results: The results of blood analysis using SSA Shimadzu 6300 showed Pb level <2.995 ng / nl. This proves that Pb is not found in the blood of the respondent. No detection of Pb in the blood because the respondent was exposed to Pb in a short period of time, the use of safety equipment while working, and an indication of the low levels of Pb in motor vehicle fuelConclusion: Not detecting lead in the respondent's blood does not mean ignoring the presence of lead in the fuel. It is very important to check the lead content regularly on all gas station workers due to the risk of lead exposure to health.

Abstract

Javan Munia (Lonchura leucogastroides) is recently common bird species in southern Sumatra, but no breeding record reported in Sumatra. On 11 October 2015, an active nest of Javan Munia and few juveniles were seen among bunches of Banana (Musa sp) fruits in Sukarejo village, Musi Rawas district, South Sumatra province. Abstract

The Diversity of Reptiles on Several Habitat Types  in Campus Area of Sriwijaya University Indralaya, Ogan Ilir was aimed to determine the diversity of amphibian species present in this area. The research has been done in March until May 2015, in the campus of the Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The method in this study is use the transect method by placing seventh transect line on line with the direction of cutting contour lines. Data collection techniques using the Visual Encounter Survey (VES) and Pit-Fall Trap method in combination with the Straight Line Method and Fence (Drift Fence). Results from this study recorded 11 species of amphibians from five families of the Anura Order. Average diversity index at Sriwijaya University Indralaya region is 1.70 which fall into the medium category. Keywords : Sriwijaya university, amphibians, transect,diversity

Abstract

The research aims to determine of herpetofauna in Regional Germplasm Preservation, PT. Bumi Mekar Hijau, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The research was conducted in May until June 2015, conducted on 4 transect observation purposively determined by considering the type of habitat herpetofauna and the results of a preliminary survey. The method used in this research is the Visual Encounter Survey (VES). Observations carried out in the morning and evening. The total number of herpetofauna were found during the observation as many as 15 species of 9 families. The number of amphibians was found as many as 6 species of 3 families and reptiles as many as 9 species of 6 families. Abstract

Deer is one of the species that going through a reduction of population because its being used as the target of illegal hunting. To prevent the reduction in population, the efforts to save them with conservation method both in-situ or ex-situ has been done. Captive deer in PT. Pusri Palembang is the only captive deer which located in urban areas of Palembang and carrying out an ex-situ conservation effort. This research aimed to analyze the habitat condition such as daily feed, water needed, and shelter, to know about the level of palatability and also to analyze the habitat condition as a basic of captive deer management towards an optimalization. The research has been done in January 2015. The interview method, literature study and field observation are used to get the data about population and habitat condition in captive deer PT. Pusri Palembang. It can be concluded that the habitat condition in the captive deer PT. Pusri Palembang still quite good, and 1,5 hectare areas still be able to maintain the total of 44 deers (22 sambar deers and 22 chital deers) in 2015.Key words: sambar deer, chital deer, captivity, ex-situ conservation, PT Pusri Palembang.

Abstract

Despite high attention and commitment of Indonesia in biodiversity conservation and its habitat, however, loss of biodiversity and habitat deforestation is also still high. Deforestation rate in Indonesia between period of 2000-2012 reach up 6.02 million ha, and approximately onethird of which is in Sumatra Island. As the fulfillment of CBD and Aichi targets, and in line with the mandate of the Law on the Conservation of Natural Resources and Ecosystems and IBSAP (Indonesian Biodiversity Strategy & Action Plan 2015-2020), we try to support the requires data as well as information on the current state of biodiversity. The aims are to develop an inventory system of biodiversity needed to establish baseline data on biodiversity including its conservation status in South Sumatra, develop a biodiversity monitoring system with qualitative parameters that can be used in the determination and monitoring of degradation rates of biodiversity, and the establishment of data management system and information network of fauna biodiversity in South Sumatera so that it can be utilized in monitoring and reporting of biodiversity at regional, national and international level at the international level. We conduct a comprehensive review of methods and techniques of inventory and monitoring of fauna biodiversity, especially those that have been done in the area of South Sumatra Province. We also analysis of data needs and information network of fauna biodiversity in South Sumatra. Abstract

The research was purposed to inventory and identification types of entomofag and phytophage insects on Passionflower Flower Plants in the area of PT. South Tania Branch East Burnai I. The area of research in PT. Tania Selatan East Iango Branch I is  ± 20 hectares, dominated by two species of Passionflower Flower, there are Passionflower Yellow Flower (Turnera subulata J.E SM.) and Passionflower White Flower (Turnera ulmifolia L.). Entomofag and phytophage insects were collected using d-vaccum, and sweep net in every kind of Passionflower Flowers, started July until August 2017. The identification of entomofag and phytophage insects were done in the University of Sriwijaya Postgraduate Laboratory. The results of the study were 8 orders, 34 families and 48 species on Turnera subulata plants, and 9 orders, 26 families, 36 species on Turnera ulmifolia plants. The value of diversity index from entomofag and phytophage insects in Turnera subulata  were 2.912 plant and the value of diversity index from entomofag and phytophage insects in Turnera subulata plants were 2.603.

Abstract

Celery fraction research (Apium graveolens L.) was carried out to determine the ability of the sedation effect of celery fraction compared to celery extracts which have been known to have the ability to effect the previous sedation. This study aims to find out which fraction has the best sedation effect. This study was an experimental study with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications. Test animals divided into 5 treatment groups namely negative control group (CMC Na 1%), celery extract group 200mg /kg and 3 treatment groups n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate, and methanol water fraction with a dose of 200 mg /kg . The sedation effect test was carried out using the Traction Test and Fireplace Testmethods. Quantitative data observed were the length of time the mice fell and the length of time the mice went out of the heated tube/glass. The results of the analysis showed that the celery fraction had a better sedation effect than the extract, and the methanol water fraction 200 mg/kg was the most effective fraction in causing sedation effects.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the diversity of butterflies at the Gunung Raya Wildlife Reserve, South Sumatra. The research was conducted in January-February 2018. The research sites were 4 different habitat types, namely primary forest, secondary forest, riparian area, and bush and plantation. Data collection uses direct observation and capture techniques along the transect line (linear transect counting) along 1000 m in each habitat type using insect nets. The results of the study obtained 55 butterfly species belonging to 5 families (there were 13 species of Papilionidae, 30 species of Nymphalidae, 7 species of Pieridae, 1 species of Riodinidae, and 4 species of Lycaenidae). The highest Shanon diversity index is in primary forest habitat (Manduriang) with H'= 3.5; followed by shrubs and plantations (Pasir Bintang) with H'= 3.45, and riparian areas (Talang Lebong) with H' = 3.23; while the lowest is secondary forest (Mesagih) with H'= 2.94. Distribution of species in all locations  is relative (E> 0.9) and high species richness (R> 4). 2 butterfly species protected by Regulations of the Environtment and Forestry Ministers No 20 of 2018, namely Troides helena and Trogonoptera brookiana has been found in this study.

Abstract

A research about False Gharial (Tomistoma schlegelii) which is a protected animal based on National Government Regulation Number 7 of 1999 and renewal of Permen LHK No. P92/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/8/2018 has been conducted on 15 until 19 September 2017 located in the region of SPTN 3 Hulu Benu River Muara Merang Village 3 Pancuran Village, and on 27 February until 04 March 2018 located in the region of SPTN 3 area Hulu Benu River Tanah Pilih Village, Berbak Sembilang National Park (TNBS), South Sumatra. This reaserch aims to monitoring the conditions of habitat and its populations for the purpose of conservation and management of TNBS areas to be more optimal. The methods used is direct monitoring during the day and night, indirect monitoring through information and interviews with citizens, as well as secondary data collection. The results obtained, were that there was an encounter and information about the existence of False Gharials measuring ± 1 to 5 meters in the upper reaches of the Benu River in the Merang River, Rasau River, Bagan 2, Bagan 6 through Bagan 9. This resulted in the determination of the Benu River TNBS as an important habitat False Gharials that needs to be managed appropriately as conservation areas
