Abstract

This French language training is based on the limited ability of foreign languages other than English, namely French for tour guides in Pangandaran Regency. Until now there has been no formal education institution that provides French language in Pangandaran Regency, even though this area is an important tourist destination for West Java which is visited by many french tourists in 2019 (see Nurroni, 2019). Meanwhile, according to BAPPEDA West Java Provincial Government, this regency will become an international class tourist destination in 2021-2025. Departing from this goal, this service program provides training in French Tourism which can provide insight into french language skill to tour guides in Pangandaran Regency so that it will lead to improving the quality of their languages. This service aims to 1) provide French Tourism training for tour guides in Pangandaran Regency; 2) conduct a simulation of the jeux de rôles-actes de parole technique (role play-technical speaking acts) based on local wisdom of Pangandaran Regency. Based on the results of the training, tour guides in Pangandaran Regency are familiar with the French alphabet and numbers, are able to carry out simple conversations, and introduce tourist objects in Pangandaran in a simple manner

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Wardhana (2018) dan Puspita (2016). Dalam penelitian ini, teknik shadowing dengan media audiovisual digunakan dengan tujuan untuk mengukur dan mendeskripsikan hasil pembelajaran berbicara sebelum dan sesudah diterapkannya teknik tersebut, serta untuk memperoleh data perihal tanggapan siswa terhadap teknik tersebut dalam pembelajaran berbicara bahasa Perancis. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pre-experimental design dengan pola one group pre-test – post-test. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dari hasil prates dan pascates kemampuan berbicara bahasa Perancis. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil perhitungan data statistik mengenai nilai uji t dengan hasil analisis data yang didapatkan dari nilai rata-rata prates adalah 68,9 dan nilai rata-rata pascates mencapai 85,6. Dengan demikian, kemampuan berbicara siswa meningkat 16,8% setelah diterapkannya teknik shadowing. Dari hasil tersebut didapatkan nilai thitung 12,49 dengan db=30. Maka dapat diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa ttabel sebesar 2,04 < thitung sebesar 12,49 untuk taraf signifikansi 5% dan nilai ttabel sebesar 2,75 < thitung sebesar 12,49 untuk taraf signifikansi 1%. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa nilai thitung > ttabel yang artinya hipotesis kerja (Hk) diterima. Hal tersebut berarti penggunaan teknik shadowing dapat meningkatkan pembelajaran berbicara bahasa Perancis.

Abstract

There have been many studies related to the analysis of difficulty listening inforeign languages. The main obstacles of listening to foreign language audio materials includeunderstanding of pronunciation, speech speed, new vocabulary, and concepts or sentencepatterns. This study aims to (1) examine the results of the students' listening ability in thesecond semester, IV and VI of French audio material in Comprehension Orale learning inLanguage Laboratory, French Language Education Department FPBS UPI, and; (2) obtainingdata on the constraints affecting the students' listening ability. This research is a descriptiveresearch with a test of listening ability and questionnaire instrument with a total sample of 60students. The results showed that 50% of students in the second semester get the value oflistening test below the average score, even the fourth semester students who get test scoresbelow the average of 60%, and students of semester VI who get the value of the test listenedbelow the average as much as 55%. It implies that more than half of the respondents haveconstraints in both internal and external factors that make it difficult for them to listen toFrench audio material

Abstract

The selection of a website as a reference for learning directly affects the quality of information for the person who accesses it. The objectives and expected results of the learning management system depend on the quality of the teaching process and its effectiveness in online access. This research is expected to support teachers who carry out the teaching and learning process virtually during the pandemic. The research method used is quantitative, with a descriptive approach for evaluating, ranking, and choosing the learning management system. Based on the research survey, the criteria for analysis of the LMS platforms in this paper are summarized in three categories: learning skills tools, communication within LMS tools, and ease of use tools. The main goal is to present a comparative analysis of 5 electronic learning management systems. From the teachers' view in this research, only one LMS supports all three categories. The critical criteria of LMS are supported by video conference, chat room for personal discussion, and simple to use.

Abstract

Penulisan artikel ini ditujukan untuk memaparkan kegiatan Klub Literasi Sekolah peminatan karya sastra di SMAN 1 Kalasan. Klub Literasi Sekolah (KLS) merupakan salah satu program implementasi kebijakan Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) yang digagas oleh SEAMEO QITEP in Language (SEAQIL) di bawah Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Indonesia tahun 2021 dengan fokus pemajuan literasi di lingkungan sekolah. Metode yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data studi pustaka dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, terdapat beberapa bagian pelaporan seperti program kegiatan, pelaksanaan Klub Literasi Sekolah, hasil karya literasi siswa, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Dengan adanya penelitian ini, diharapkan KLS dapat menjadi wadah bagi siswa untuk berekspresi dan mengaktualisasi penggunaan bahasa asing dalam konteks kehidupan nyata serta dapat menjadi alternatif bagi sekolah maupun siswa dalam menunjang kegiatan ekstrakurikuler alternatif siswa selama pandemi Covid-19. Lebih lanjut, bagi mahasiswa, KLS menjadi wadah untuk merealisasikan kebijakan Kampus Merdeka dan bentuk pengabdian kuliah kerja nyata tematik Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) di mana mahasiswa dapat berkolaborasi dan berinovasi aktif dalam mengimplementasikan ilmu di dunia kerja demi kemajuan bangsa.

Abstract

Writing a fairytale summary is one of the writing skills required in French writing competency level B1 DELF. To acquire this competence requires a lot of practice. The selection of appropriate learning models that can be used in writing summaries of fairytales must be adapted to the learning objectives to be achieved. This study aims to (1) describe the stages and the results of students' ability to write a summary of French fairytales during the implementation of Cooperative Integrated Reading Composition (CIRC) in learning to write a summary of French fairytales, and to evaluate the effectiveness of CIRC implementation. The method used in this research is the pre-experimental method using the one-group pretest-posttest research design and the research instrument is a test. The results that have been achieved in this study, namely the average student pre-test score was 76, while the post-test average score was 84.3, so there was an increase in score of 8.3. From the results of statistical calculations showed that the t-count value is 5.50 and the t-table value is 2.09, so that with a significance level of 5% and 19 degrees of freedom, so the working hypothesis in this study is accepted. It means that the application of CIRC is effective in learning to write a summary of fairy tales in French. Thus, through this research, students can better understand the fundamental rules and stages in writing a summary of a fairy tale in French.

Abstract

The era of the industrial revolution 4.0 encouraged the development of knowledge to be more rapid. The development of knowledge will also have an impact on the world of education. The teacher is the foremost person in education because the teacher is the person who interacts directly instilling competence in students. This workshop activity aims to improve the competency of writing scientific articles for teachers at the Mutiara Harapan School, Pangkalan Kerinci, Riau. The method used is the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. This activity was carried out online for a period of 2 months. In its implementation, this activity uses four stages in providing assistance, namely the planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The results of the mentoring show that teacher competence in writing scientific articles has increased. In the initial conditions, according to the interview results, teachers had poor competence in writing scientific articles. However, after implementing the training, teacher understanding increased and 10 scientific articles were produced which could be registered in the target journal. From its implementation, the webinar activity received a positive response and was needed by teachers in an effort to improve the competence of writing scientific articles.

Abstract

Di tengah transformasi industri, kehidupan sehari-hari dan sektor pendidikan mengalami perubahan yang besar. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas guru di zaman revolusi industri 4.0, salah satu cara yang bisa diterapkan adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan khusus tentang Microsoft Office, terutama MOS. Menanggapi hal ini, kami memutuskan untuk menyelenggarakan pelatihan Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Power Point untuk guru-guru di SMPN 3 Cimerak. Kami menerapkan metode pelatihan model Goad yang terdiri dari: (1) Identifikasi kebutuhan; (2) Desain strategi; (3) Penyusunan materi; (4) Implementasi; (5) Penilaian dan perbaikan materi pelatihan.
