Abstract

This study  aims to  describe the system  strengthening  local knowledge bersinegi  with  supra- local  knowledge  systems  in the development of  organic agriculture.  Data were collected  through  in-depth  interviews  and documentation of  NGOs,  officials  of farmer groups  and  farmers.  The results found  that, first, knowledge of organic farming systems are not purely local, it is determined by the quality  of human resources and  local   sociocultural   systems,  but  predominantly influenced by the strength of  formal and  informal  networks, degrees of access to information and knowledge systems from the outside. Second, the social behavior of  peasant  agricultural economy  together with the  development of organic agriculture  from the outside.  Third, knowledge systems  function well  initially farmers in organic farming, and then decline as individual rational considerations. Fourth, supporting  factor  is the availability of  so  in the market, the availability of raw materials  in the environment,  farmers,  farmers own  volition,  and support companion. While  inhibiting  factor  is the structure of  land tenure,  menejamen farmer organizations,  farmer  mentality,  short-term  economic interests, andwillingness.  Keywords: Institutional local, organic farming

Abstract

Specifically,   this study aims to  examine the impact of  land acquisition  for establishment  of Kota Baru  Lampung  on social,  economic,  and psychologic of share cropper peasants.   The research was  conducted by  survey  and  depth interviews with  peasants whose lost their land. The surveyed  research sample  is determined  randomly  from  six villages  in  Jati   Agung  District,  while the informants who interviewed  in depth were determined by purposive and snowball sampling.  Data  of  research  survey were analyzed quantitatively  using  statistics program, while the  in-depth  interview data were analyzedqualitatively. Based on the data  and information obtained  from the research, it is known  that:  (1) Cultivation of Eks-LIPI land by the local  community is the impact of the policy of agricultural  land clearing  in the forest  by the  Dinas Kehutanan  which  then controled by LIPI, which  in practice allow people to share  cropping the land. (2) The implementation of ex-LIPI  land  acquisition  for Kota Baru  Lampung  which have been  cultivated  by the  peasants  decrease the  degree of  social harmony relations of local communities, decline in  the economic quality of  life of  families who lost their by land acquisition,  and increased psychological  stress and tention of peasants. Keywords : Land acquisition, share cropper peasants, eks-LIPI land
