Abstract

The development of instructional media in this paper is the development of learning media used in learning Arts and Culture class X High School in Pangururan District, Samosir Regency. The learning media developed are invincible with the syllabus in class X, namely "presentation of musical works". The objectives of this study were to: (1) develop traditional Karo music learning videos; (2) Developing Karo traditional music learning textbooks. This research uses a Research & Development or research and development approach. The development of this learning media will be used by art teachers who are members of the MGMP (subject teacher deliberation) for Cultural Arts, especially art teachers in Pangururan District, Samosir Regency. The research conducted resulted in the development of instructional media in the form of learning videos for learning traditional Karo music and textbooks for learning traditional Karo music. The learning media developed in the form of learning videos for traditional Karo music includes the technique of playing Karo traditional music which is incorporated in the kulcapi drum ensemble whose instruments consist of kulcapi, keteng-keteng, and mangkuk. The next learning media is in the form of a textbook which contains the techniques for playing the kulcapi drum in the song Piso Surit and Terang Bulan. The two learning media that have been developed help the arts and culture teachers in carrying out the ethnicity of the ethnic North Sumatra.Keywords: Development, Learning Media, Ethnicity, North Sumatra

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model instrumen gitar elektrik kedalam bentuk prototipe yang lebih inovatif yaitu model gitar elektrik ukir bakar. Penelitian penciptaan inovasi gitar elektrik ukir bakar ini berbasis pada pengembangan organologi dan motif ukir tradisi Sumatera Utara, dilakukan dengan cara mengeksplorasi secara mendalam unsur-unsur organologi instrumen gitar elektrik yang akan di kolaborasikan dengan unsur motif-motif ukir tradisional Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan research and Depelopment atau penelitian pengembangan. Perolehan data-data penelitian yang dikumpulkan berasal dari dua sumber, yaitu data primer dan data sekunder. Data-data primer diperoleh melalui teknik wawancara mendalam (depth interview) dan pengamatan berperanserta (participant observation) yang bertujuan untuk pengumpulan data yang diikuti diskusi kelompok terfokus (focus group discussion). Hasil analisis yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1) Dalam proses penciptaan model desain Gitar elektrik ukir bakar berbasis motif ukir tradisi Sumatera Utara di lakukan dengan beberapa tahap seperti : tahap persiapan penciptaan Gitar elektrik ukir bakar berbasis motif ukir tradisi Sumatera Utara, tahap pengumpulan data primer dan data skunder, tahap analisis dan perumusan konsep prototype penciptaan gitar elektrik ukir bakar berbasis motif tradisi Sumatera Utara, tahap uji coba dan penyempurnaan rumusan konsep prototype penciptaan Gitar elektrik ukir bakar berbasis motif ukir tradisi Sumatera Utara. tahap finising. 2) Dalam penelitian ini diciptakan desain model Gitar elektrik ukir bakar berbasis motif ukir tradisi Sumatera Utara dengan dua corak yaitu corak gorga dalian natolu dan corak Tapak Sulaiman.

Abstract

AKAP bus is cross-city and provincial transportation in Indonesia. This research aims to observate the songs playlist on AKAP bus by looking at three aspects; form, function, and meaning. The purpose of this study consists of: 1) knowing the form of the song that is presented; 2) find out the function of the songs along the bus trips; 3) find out the meaning of the song. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach. The process of searching for data and information is carried out using interviews and field observations by recording audio and video. This study found the results that the type of music used on the Jakarta-Palembang AKAP Bus for the duration of the 19-hour journey is dominated by Dangdut, Indonesian Pop, and Regional Pop songs. The driver plays a playlist of songs randomly and repeatedly.

Abstract

This research work aims to findout a new method of creating dance music 'Rentak Sumut' which is rooted in music local traditions of North Sumatra. The objectives of this research are to finding the method of creating dance music 'Rentak Sumut' as an icon of Sumatran tourism North and finding the method of promoting dance music 'Rentak Sumut' as an icon North Sumatra tourism. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach. The process of searching for data and information is carried out with the interview method deeply to the traditional musician of North Sumatra as informants. The study found that ‘Rentak Sumut’ dance music uses a dance rhythm that comes from music Malay tradition in the 6/8 bar with a medium tempo. Song lyrics describe nature, culture and geography of North Sumatra entirely. North Sumatra Rentak dance music is applied in various communities.
