Abstract

This strengthening waste-based palm oil-cattle integration groups business program is a continuation of the development program in the 2013. It is intended to accelerate and increase production capacity through process technology improvements. The results of the activity show that the group's integrated waste processing business has developed well according to the installed capacity of Biourine A Plus and In-site Trychocompose (ITC) production. The implementation of activities is broadly in line with the target. The achievement of ITC production has been 56% of installed capacity but seen from the production trend has shown the direction towards actual capacity use. The income of group business has a significant increase that almost double. The constraints faced are mainly caused by fluctuations in the supply of the main raw materials (liquid waste and solid cages) as the cattle population changes. Follow-up efforts are to encourage changes in business orientation into a dual purpose: to maintain the balance of composition between male and female livestock, and expansion of partnerships of raw material input with the aim of non-group cattle farmers.

Abstract

Sungai Duren is one of the villages that has concern of the local government for the provision of clean water because of the difficulty in accessing clean water in the village. The resident do not yet have access for clean water, and still very dependent on Batanghari river water. While the turbidity and water quality of Batanghari river does not have clean water requirements. Based on that facts it is necessary to provide assistance through counseling and demonstration about simple technology to treat and purify Batanghari river water into drinking water by tools and materials that easily obtained and made. Water filtration technology was easily to made and then biochar material can be used as an absorbent. Biochar does not experience further weathering so it would take a long time when it applied as a water filter. The source of biochar was from oil palm empty fruit bunches that not utilized. Some steps that need to be taken so the solution can be realized are first by providing counseling by socialization of the importance of the availability of clean water for community and the use of biochar as an adsorbent for water filtration.

Abstract

Rhodamine B dye is one of the dye wastes from the textile dyeing industry. One way that can be done for dealing with pollution of the aquatic environment by the presence of this dye is adsorption. This study aims to adsorption of Rho B dye using Ca-alginate immobilized pineapple leaves. Immobilization of pineapple leaves with alginate aims to improve adsorbent performance, mechanical strength, and adsorption capacity. Pine apple leaf Ca-alginate immobilized adsorbents were characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) instruments. Ca-alginate immobilized pineapple leaf adsorbent was used adsorption of Rho B dye by studying several adsorption parameters such as the effect of pH, contact time, mass of adsorbent, stirring speed, and concentration of Rho B dye. The optimum adsorption conditions parameters were obtained at pH 3, contact time during 90 minutes, agitation speed of 150 rpm, the adsorbent mass of 0.1 gram, and Rho B concentration of 80 mg/L with a maximum adsorption capacity of 8.964 mg/g.

Abstract

The abundance of waste cooking oil resulting from the cooking process has not yet been optimized for use. Apart from that, coffee is also produced in Mukai Pintu village, Kerinci Regency. The skin of these coffee beans is just waste that is thrown away. These two ingredients can be used to make aromatherapy candles which are useful for the community. In this way, the problem of waste coffee bean shells and used cooking oil can be overcome and become added value. Making aromatherapy candles from used cooking oil can be made easily by PKK women and the Mukai Pintu Kerinci village community. Coffee skin therapy aroma candles can support the economy of the community and village. Apart from that, this aromatherapy candle product made from coffee bean shells can be one of the superior products of the village and can be a souvenir from Kerinci Regency. The target for implementing this community service program is that partners are able to: 1) The community can apply and make aromatherapy candles from coffee bean shells. 2) can help the community improve the economy and can become a superior product for the village. 3) People can sell these products using digital marketing
