Abstract

Lumpue Beach Subsurface Profile Analysis of Parepare City. This study aims to analyze the subsurface profile of Lumpue beach which is directly contaminated with activities around the coast. In this study, the Wenner Schlumberger method was used in the Lumpue beach area, Perepare City, South Sulawesi Province. The tool used is a multichannel geoelectric with a maximum length of 480 m in each trajectory, in this study there are 3 trajectories in which the first trajectory is 480 m with depth as deep as 91.2 m and the resistivity results obtained range from 0.207 -> 97.8 Ωm which identified as alluvium containing clay soil, silt soil, sandstone and pyroclastic rock bolder that has been contaminated by sea water. At lane 2 intersects the middle lane 1 with a length of 240 m and identified depths of 91.2 m, the recorded resistivity results range between 5.52 -> 623 Ωm where the resistivity value identifies the alluvium material, which contains clay, silt soil , sandstone that has been contaminated with water and the presence of some pyroclastic rock inserts that are contaminated by water. Whereas lane 3 intersects lane 1 at the end with a lenght of 240m and a depth of 91.2 m, while the recorded resistivity results range from 0.354 - 11776 Ωm where from the recorded resistivity results the material contained in lane 3 is the inserted alluvium material. by pyroclastic rocks. The area covered by the track is an area with alluvium material which is an alluvial unit and most of it is contaminated by water, either by sea water or fresh groundwater and is inserted by pyroclastic rocks.

Abstract

The development of scientific subjects in geography at the secondary school level has an impact on knowledge about geology, including rocks and their formation processes, the origin of the earth, to how to plan urban planning in a geographic information system. Geography books generally refer to the international earth science curriculum, making it very difficult for high school students to understand it. The main problem revealed by teachers and students who are interested in OSN in the field of earth is that the material being contested is quite complex. The basic problems of geology, spatial planning and disaster become national and even global issues. Through the Community Service Program activities, the Faculty of Engineering in this case is represented by a team of lecturers from the Geological Engineering Study Program offering Student Centered Learning methods to facilitate understanding of the National Science Olympiad material in the field of Earth Sciences. Besides that, it can also motivate and competitiveness to take part in competitions, especially for students of SMA Negeri 8 Gowa. The purpose of community service activities is to: a) Provide basic geological knowledge as part of earth science; b) Providing knowledge of Indonesian geology; c) Provide material tested in the national earth science olympiad; d) Provide the practice of identifying minerals and rocks, geological structures, fossils, and topographic map readings.

Abstract

The need for building materials is increasingly felt and expanded in line with the development of cities and regions, on the other hand mining activities can affect and damage the environment, such as what happened in the Barru, Sabangnaeri and Bottolai Rivers, where the former mines were left without reclamation. Based on this, a team from the Department of Geological Engineering, Hasanuddin University Makassar conducted counseling on batugunung mining to stone mining entrepreneurs in the Kamara - Bottolai area, Barru district in the form of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. This activity is expected to contribute, especially to stone mining entrepreneurs, to increase income and environmental safety. From the results of the field survey, several alternative materials of higher quality than currently managed (ultramafic rocks) were obtained for the community, namely dacite, andesite - trachea, diorite and limestone, scattered in several places in Barru Regency. The objectives of this community service activity are to: a. provide knowledge of rock quality and alternative locations; b. Provide technical guidance and mining work safety; c. Provide an understanding of environmental issues and the impact of mining
