Abstract

S. platensis is a health supplement as an antioxidant, sourced from carotenoid of  S. platensis. Carotenoids can serve as singlet oxygen absorber and deactivate free radicals. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of ketchup waste as organic fertilizer for the carotenoid of S. platensis. Also, to determine antioxidant activity (carotenoid) of S. platensis which is produced in culture media from ketchup waste compared to S. platensis commercial. The study consisted of two phases examination exploration of production time  in order to obtain the highest value of  carotenoid of S. pletensis and the effect of ketchup waste as an antioxidant (carotenoid) of S. pletensis by Difenil Pikril Hidrasil (DPPH).  The results showed that carotenoid as an antioxidant S. platensis can produces carotenoid (1,5566  µg/mL) and antioxidant activity (DPPH 18,30%).

Abstract

Milkfish is potential fish with high production and belong to ten of fish commodities culture in Indonesia. Pond stability of milkfish especially in fingerling phase (young phase) influenced by several factors including water quality and organism availability (periphyton). This recent study aimed to assess the milkfish traditional pond stability in fingerling phase based on water quality and periphyton availability aspects. These aspects are quite important to milkfish production and their growth as well as their food habit. The research was conducted in traditional pond located in UPT Fisheries Brackish and Saline Water Probolinggo for three months. Water quality and periphyton analyses were in situ and ex situ. The result shows that all the water quality is belong to good condition (stable) except in ammonia, TOM, and orthophosphate. However, this fluctuated value is not significantly impacting to the living organisms (milkfish). The research concluded that the fingerling milkfish traditional pond is belonging to moderate to stable condition.

Abstract

Turtles are one of the reptile animals that can migrate long distances along the Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean and Southeast Asia. The purpose of turtle migration is to mate, find spawning locations and to find food. Sea turtles have an important role in maintaining the balance of the marine ecosystem. However, the high utilization of sea turtles by humans causes the turtle population to decline. One of the conservation sites that help the government program is in Serangan, Denpasar Bali, namely the TCEC (Turtle Conservation and Education Center), where there are several types of turtles such as the lekang turtle, hawksbill and green turtle. Data collection techniques in this study used observation methods including beach monitoring, relocation of turtle eggs to semi-natural hatchery hatching, hatchling and turtle nesting as well as measurement of turtle length and width carapase curve (CCL/CCW), sand temperature, nest depth, nest diameter, nest distance and nest calculation of the number of eggs to see the success of hatching. The results are turtle conservation activities, ranging from turtle maintenance, hatching of turtle eggs, relocation of eggs, and maintenance of hatchlings to release turtles. The effectiveness given by TCEC to manage and preserve the existence of sea turtles in Indonesia, especially in the Bali region is to provide awareness to the community by not consuming eggs and turtle meat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis ektoparasit dan perbedaan infestasi ektoparasit pada ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus) yang dipelihara pada sistem akuaponik dan tanpa akuaponik. Metode penelitian rnenggunakan kuasi eksperimen intact-group comparison dengan terdapat dua perlakuan. Hewan uji menggunakan ikan nila dengan bobot 6-7 g/ekor. Hewan uji dipelihara di akuarium kaca berukuran 40cmx30cmx30cm yang diisi air sebanyak 15 liter. Perlakuan yang diberikan berupa pemeliharaan ikan nila dengan menggunakan sistem akuaponik dan pemeliharaan ikan nila tanpa menggunakan sistem akuaponik. Parameter yang diamati adalah jenis ektoparasit dan infestasi ektoparasit pada ikan nila. Jenis parasit yang ditemukan menginfestasi ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus) pada pemeliharaan dengan menggunakan akuaponik maupun tanpa akuaponik adalah Argulus sp. Terdapat perbedaan yang nyata antara infestasi ektoparasit pada ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus) yang dipelihara dengan sistem akuaponik dan tanpa akuaponik.

Abstract

Lele (Clarias sp.) merupakan jenis ikan konsumsi air tawar dengan tubuh memanjang dan kulit licin. Ikan lele MUTIARA adalah strain baru ikan lele Afrika Clarias gariepinus Burchell, 1822 unggul hasil pemuliaan Badan Penelitian Pemuliaan Ikan (BPPI) Sukamandi yang telah dinyatakan lulus pada Penilaian Pelepasan Jenis/Varietas pada tanggal 27 Oktober 2014, dengan nama ikan lele MUTIARA (Mutu Tinggi Tiada Tara). Praktek Kerja Lapang ini dilaksanakan di Unit Pelayanan Teknis Pengembangan Teknologi Perikanan Budidaya Kepanjen, Kabupaten Malang, Jawa Timur pada tanggal 18 Januari - 12 Februari 2016. Praktek Kerja Lapang ini adalah metode partisipasi aktif dengan mengikuti secara langsung kegiatan yang dilakukan dilapangan. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan partisipasi aktif. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa manajemen pembenihan ikan lele mutiara dengan aplikasi probiotik dilakukan dengan pemijahan alami meliputi: persiapan kolam, seleksi induk, pemijahan, fase penetasan telur, pemeliharaan larva dan benih, pemberian pakan, pengendalian hama penyakit dan pembuatan pakan fermentasi. Manajemen Pembenihan Lele Mutiara (Clarias sp.)dilakukan secara alami dengan perbandingan induk jantan dan betina adalah 1 : 1. Jumlah telur yang dihasilkan adalah 71.648 butir, telur yang terbuahi adalah 47.376 butir dan telur yang berhasil menetas adalah 37.310 butir sehingga didapatkan Hatching Rate (HR) sebesar 78,7%. Kelangsungan hidup larva ikan gurami awal pemeliharaan larva berjumlah 37.310 ekor dan jumlah akhir pemeliharaan larva berjumlah 35.000 ekor sehingga didapatkan Survival Rate (SR) sebesar 93,80%.

Abstract

Praktek Kerja Lapang (PKL) dilaksanakan di Unit Pelaksana Teknis Pengembangan Budidaya Air Tawar Umbulan, Kabupaten Pasuruan, Provinsi Jawa Timur pada tanggal 18 Desember 2017 – 18 Januari 2018. Tujuan dari Praktek Kerja Lapang ini adalah untuk mengetahui secara langsung serta mendapatkan pengalaman secara jelas tentang teknik pembenihan ikan mas (Cyprinus carpio) dalam pengembangan lebih lanjut dan permasalahan dalam usaha pembenihan ikan mas yang di hadapi serta cara pemecahannya. Metode yang di gunakan pada PKL ini adalah metode deskriptif, dengan teknik pengambilan data meliputi data primer dan data sekunder. Pengumpulan data ini dilakukan secara observasi, wawancara dan partisipasi aktif. UPT PBAT Umbulan memiliki luas keseluruhan lahan 6,25 hektar. Pemijahan ikan mas dilakukan secara alami. Induk ikan mas yang digunakan berasal dari Punten dan Sukabumi. Perbandingan berat induk ikan mas antaraojantan dan betina yaitu 2 : 1. Parameter Kualitas air untuk pembenihan ikan mas Antara lain : suhu 26,6-31,05 C; pH 7,1- 7,36; dan DO 6,23-10,8 mg/l. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, didapatkan nilai Fertilization Rate (FR) telur ikan mas sebesar 91,73%, Hatching Rate (HR) ikan mas sebesar 74,4% serta Survival Rate (SR) sebesar 30,44%. Pakan buatan yang digunakan dalam pemeliharan benih adalah pellet HI-PRO-VITE 781-3 yang telah dihaluskan dengan kadar protein 31%-33%. Benih ikan mas yang dipanen di UPT PBAT Umbulan memiliki ukuran 1-3 cm. UPT PBAT Umbulan mampu memproduksi benih sebanyak 50.000-100.000 ekor setiap bulan dengan harga benih diangka 10 Rp per benih ukuran 1-2 cm dan 50 Rp per benih ukuruan 5 cm.

Abstract

Phytoplankton have many benefits, including as a primary producer, natural food, bioindicator, and water pollution treatment. For this reason, their availability needs to be managed, one of which is through cultivation. The purpose of this study was to analyze the mass scale cultivation of Chlorella vulgaris. The research was conducted at the Technical Implementation Unit of Freshwater and Brackish Water Aquaculture, Situbondo, using a descriptive method. The data were analyzed statistically using MS. Excel 2016 software, and a multiple linear regression test was carried out to determine the effect of water quality parameters on the growth of C. vulgaris using the SPSS 16.0 application. The cultivation process started from strain preparation, water preparation, tank and culture media preparation, inoculation, fertilization, and then harvesting. The initial density of C. vulgaris used was 145x104 Cell. mL-1 in tank 1 and 188x104 Cell. mL-1 in tank 2. The results showed that the cell density value of C. vulgaris increased every day until it entered the exponential phase, namely on the 4th day of the culture activity, which was 507 x 104 in tank 1 and 536 x 104 Cell. mL-1 in tank 2. Furthermore, the value of water quality parameters that affected the growth of C. vulgaris in tank 1 and tank 2 was dissolved oxygen of 4.82-6.97 mg. L-1, pH 8.2-9.1, transparency of 20-45 cm, temperature was 26.8-28.2 oC, nitrate of 0.10-0.50 mg. L-1, phosphate of 0.75-2 mg. L-1, and salinity of 30-39 ppt.

Abstract

The development of an entrepreneurial spirit can be started even with minimal capital. Fishery products with high nutritional value are one of the opportunities that can be developed by community groups as independent businesses in the context of increasing the economy. Santriwati at the Griya Khadijah Islamic Boarding School Surabaya is a national asset that has great potential, role, and opportunity in influencing the social and economic life of the surrounding community. This community service activity aims to improve the competence of female students at the Griya Khadijah Islamic Boarding School, as a role model for hafidzah-preneur education, to be able to develop an entrepreneurial spirit and reflect women's empowerement with good character.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah mengaplikasikan metode mempercepat dan sinkronisasi kematangan dan pemijahan ikan hias air tawar melalui kombinasi pemberian pakan dan manipulasi lingkungan. Metode kegiatan adalah penyuluhan dan diskusi, pelatihan, praktek dan demoplot serta pendampingan berkelanjutan. Kelompok mitra PKM adalah Kelompok Pembudidaya Ikan (Pokdakan) Rasbora 15 dan Mina Jam 3 di Desa Karang Sentul, Kecamatan Gondang Wetan, Kabupaten Pasuruan, Propinsi Jawa Timur. Ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang diberikan adalah metode peningkatan kualitas produksi budidaya ikan hias. Semangat dan motivasi kelompok mitra sangat tinggi dan antusias dalam menerima pengetahuan dan mengaplikasikan teknologi yang diberikan.

Abstract

Botia fish (Chrombotia macracanthus), known as the clown loach, is a species of freshwater ornamental fish from the Cobitidae family whose distribution is limited to the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. The limitations of Botia fish distribution make it necessary to increase the maturity of the gonadal Botia fish to increase the breeding of these fish. The results of the evaluation of the effect of gonadotropin hormone on fish Botia carried out for four days and on the first female parent produced as many as 15,898 eggs with FR (Fertilization Rate) of 57.5% and HR (Hatching Rate) of 60.5%. The second Botia parent produces 10,872 eggs with FR (Fertilization Rate) of 96.5% and HR (Hatching Rate) of 13.7%. HCG serves to homogenize the size of the egg and accelerate gonadal maturity. Ovaprim serves to accelerate the ovulation process and stimulate spawning.
