Abstract

EMPOWERMENT OF FARMERS RESPONDING TO THE NEW NORMAL USING THE WORKING PROTOCOL IN THE LAND AND THE DISTRIBUTION PROCESS OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS. Tanjung Morawa Village, located in Deli Serdang District, North Sumatra Province, has a development potential for agricultural land from food crops, horticulture and secondary crops and agro-ecotourism. The purpose of carrying out community service activities is to determine the potential of natural resources in the agricultural sector, especially “rice field tourism” as agro-ecotourism locations. Standard protocols and modules have not been made for farmers working on the land, at home, or during the distribution of agricultural products during the New Normal Period. For example, farmers rarely use masks, smoke, do not distance between farmers, or do not use gloves when spraying pests on the land. This service was held on 3 August 2020 which attended by 12 rice farmers in Tanjung Rejo Village, Tanjung Morawa, Deli Serdang Regency, North of Sumatera, with the socialization method for Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) Farmer Protocol in New Normal. This was followed by training on integrated pest control for rice plants using Yellow Sticky Traps, Sweep Net and vegetable pesticides. Therefore, it is necessary to formulate and socialize Protocols and Modules for Farmers to work on the land, interaction at home with family members and when buying and selling in the market, or distribution of agricultural products to support national of food security.

Abstract

Kemampuan menguasai Bahasa Inggris sangat penting di era modern ini karena bahasa Inggris tidak hanya digunakan di bidang akademik, tetapi juga di dunia kerja. Namun, masih banyak masyarakat Indonesia yang memiliki kemampuan bahasa Inggris yang rendah terutama mereka yang berasal dari kelompok kurang mampu seperti anak yatim. Di sisi lain, muncul berbagai lembaga kursus Bahasa Inggris yang memasang tarif begitu fantastis. Diperlukan alternatif pemecahan masalah yaitu adanya kegiatan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris gratis. Anak di Panti Asuhan Bani Adam ‘As pun merasakan hal yang sama. Banyak dari mereka yang berminat belajar Bahasa Inggris namun kondisi tidak memungkinkan bagi mereka untuk melakukannya. Oleh sebab itu, kegiatan praktikum ini merupakan hal yang sangat tepat sasaran untuk dilakukan. Program Intervensi yang digunakan dalam kegiatan Praktikum ini adalah Intervensi Komunitas oleh Zastrow yang terdiri dari; Intake, Assesmen dan Perencanaan Intervensi, Penyeleksian Anggota, Pengembangan Kelompok, Evaluasi dan Terminasi. Sebagai tambahan, terjadi peningkatan keterampilan membaca dan berbicara serta motivasi mereka dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Selain itu, program ini juga memberikan manfaat bagi kedua belah pihak yang terlibat (yatim dan siswa) secara sosial dan pendidikan. Artinya terdapat dampak positif yang signifikan setelah pelaksanaan program ini.

Abstract

Memberikan pengajaran tentang pentingnya membaca Al-Qur'an pada anak masa kini bukan hal yang mudah, karena selain memerlukan pengetahuan seorang tenaga didik juga harus mengetahui metode yang dapat dipakai dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan metode iqra’ sebagai kemampun dasar membaca Al-Qur'an  anak masa kini khususnya di Panti Asuhan Yayasan Bani Adam ‘As Kota Medan. Penelitian atau praktikum ini menggunakan intervensi komunitas yang dikemukakan oleh Zastrow, sebagai berikut; Intake, Assesment, Perencanaan Intervensi, Penyeleksian Anggota, Pengembangan Kelompok, Evaluasi dan Terminasi. Dari hasil penelitian atau praktikum ini, diharapkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an melalui metode Iqra' pada anak masa kini khususnya di Yayasan Panti Asuhan Bani Adam As. Selain itu, program ini juga memberikan manfaat pada mental spiritual anak yang artinya pelaksanaan ini besar harapan agar memberikan dampak positif.

Abstract

Kegiatan dilakukan di Panti Asuhan Putri Aisyiyah Medan untuk mengkaji permasalahan yangdialami oleh anak yatim. Masalah yang dialami oleh anak panti asuhan adalah kurangnya pengetahuandasar anak tentang menulis, membaca dan berhitung. Banyaknya anak yatim piatu yang menggunakansmartphone untuk bermain game online dan menonton tiktok. Kegiatan ini memiliki tujuan untukmeningkatkan minat belajar dan kreativitas anak yatim piatu yang merupakan mini project tentang pendidikan untuk anak. Mitra kegiatn yang mengalami masalah ini. Mitra tersebut terdiri dari anak-anak yang masih duduk di bangku Sekolah Dasar (SD). Tahapan kelompok sosial diguanakan dalam penelitian ini, mulai dari tahap persiapan hingga tahap terminasi. Meningkatkan minat belajar pada anakmembutuhkan metode yang tepat agar anak nyaman dengan mini project yang telah dibuat. Metodeyang digunakan adalah metode Delphi dengan menggunakan kuesioner untuk menyimpulkanpermasalahan apa saja yang dimiliki oleh anak yatimDiharapkan anak-anak panti asuhan dapatmelanjutkan minat belajar dan mengasah kreativitasnya agar tidak mengalami kesulitan dalam belajardi sekolah

Abstract

Self-confidence is one of the most important aspects of a person's personality. Self-confidence is a very valuable attribute in a person in social life, without self-confidence it will cause many problems in a person. Confidence is something that is important for every individual to have. Confidence is needed by both a child and a parent, individually or in a group. Confidence does not just appear in a person, but there is a certain process in the person so that the formation of self-confidence occurs, which is not an instant process but through a long process that took place from an early age. Without realizing it, a lack of self-confidence in someone can be detrimental to himself. As experienced by one of the children at the Pintu Harapan Orphanage who lacked confidence in school, making the child less understanding of mathematics. And really needs help to increase his confidence in himself. The process of providing assistance is carried out in the PKL 1 mini project activity, namely by using the casework method as a social work technique approach aimed at helping individuals who have problems with face-to-face services. Several stages consist of Engagement Intake Contract, Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation, and the last stage is Termination. The focus of solving the client's problem is to convince the client to be confident so that he is more daring to ask the teacher and his classmates about lessons that are difficult to understand. The purpose of this strategy was declared successful with significant changes in the client, including in the learning process that increased confidence in him.

Abstract

The visually impaired often experience difficulties because society's view tends to be less positive towards them. Not infrequently they are underestimated by society, family, and even themselves. The visually impaired are often seen as helpless, unable to stand up for themselves, and always willing to be helped. The community's treatment of them also tends to be merciful, which causes them to feel they don't have a place in society. This makes them tend to be insecure and limit themselves to interacting with the environment and lack the courage to do something. One of private institution that pays special attention to fulfilling the rights of the visually imppaired is Panti Karya Hephata. This research was conducted to see the social welfare efforts carried out by Panti Karya Hephata for the visually impaired. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and literature study. Based on the research that has been done, the social welfare efforts carried out by Panti Karya Hephata for the visually impaired are through self-development programs, formal education, work development, and mental-spiritual development.

Abstract

Family, especially parents, are the first source of education every child have. The growth and development process of children are strongly determined by the role of the parents. Unfortunately, not all children have this opportunity. Orphanage home become the option for the unfortunate children to gain the same chance. However, the number of the children is not proportional to the number of orphanage educators. This, in turn, making the educators could not look after the children thoroughly which leads to another problem. The lack of guidance and supervision from the orphanage’s eductor in the children’s learning process results in decreased motivation and the desire to learn, further dimming their passion to achieve their dreams. The target is to increase their knowledge and their enthusiasm to learn so that they have motivations to reach their dreams. In this case work activity, one of the orphanage children is invited to learn various subjects via interesting study method by using youtube and mathematic applications such as Math Online and Sumas. The intervention method used in this activity is Zastrow’s casework method, which consist of intake and contract, assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. In addition, the tools used in the assessment step is Tools Assessment Ecomap.

Abstract

Education is one of the crucial components of achieving prosperity. Education can support the quality of human resources, which will undoubtedly impact the progress of a nation. This it is essential to grow and improve children's enthusiasm for learning from an early age. Various efforts were made to encourage children's learning spirit, including the children at the Cinta Kasih Orphanage in Medan. Most children there prefer to play and have less enthusiasm for school, let alone an interest in learning, especially for those under ten years old. Through Practicum 1 activity held from March to May 2022, the author carried out a mini project for one of the children at the Cinta Kasih Orphanage in Medan. This activity is carried out using the casework method with general stages, including Engagement Intake Contract, Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Monitoring and Evaluation, and ends with Termination. The tools used in the assessment are ecomap tools that help find the sources of problems and a support system to overcome the problems experienced by clients. After going through the process using these stages and tools, the goal of growing and increasing the enthusiasm for children's learning in the orphanage was proven to be achieved. Of course, this will significantly affect the development of the client. Clients are motivated to continue learning at schools and orphanages with fun methods.

Abstract

The problems faced by drug residents are not far from the reduced level of motivation in carrying out the recovery process at the Rehabilitation Homes. This is partly due to the saturation factor that makes them bored in carrying out the recovery process. The target to be achieved is to increase the motivation of drug residents to stay enthusiastic, focus on carrying out rehabilitation and not get bored in carrying out the recovery process. Because if the saturation continues, it can cause his recovery to be disrupted. The solution offered in practicum 1 for individuals (Casework) is through the application of punishment and reward in helping the recovery process. The intervention program used in this practicum is the Micro Intervention by (Skidmore in Adi, 2013) which consists of; Engagement, Assessment, Planning, Plan Implementation, Evaluation and Termination.

Abstract

Efforts to prevent drug trafficking and abuse continue to be carried out. One of them is the establishment of a drug rehabilitation center as a form of response to the alleviation of drug abuse. IPWL Nazar Foundation as a drug rehabilitation center aims to treat and cure drug addicts. However, not infrequently there are still former addicts who return to using drugs (relapse) so that he is rehabilitated again, one of which is a client with the initials HG. So that an alternative is needed in solving the problem. In this case, the process of providing assistance is carried out by providing motivational classes and recreational sports activities using the casework method. The achievement of the method used in overcoming the client's problems is that there are significant positive developments and changes in the client, where he is able to control himself and mature himself so that he can overcome his potential recurrence.
