Abstract

Anemia in pregnancy is one of the causes of Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in developing countries. The main causes of maternal death include postpartum haemorrhage and placenta previa from deficiency anemia. In Indonesia, nutritional anemia is one of the main nutritional problems. Some predisposing factors that are thought to be closely related to the incidence of anemia in pregnant women are age, parity and distance of pregnancy. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between age, parity and distance of pregnancy with the incidence of anemia during pregnancy. Samples were all pregnant women who were anemic during the study at the Hanna Kasih Medan Clinic in the January-March 2015 period, which amounted to 70 people. Data collection techniques with documentation. Analysis method using Chi-Square test. Conclusion there is a correlation between age (p = 0.000), parity (p = 0.000), and pregnancy distance (p = 0.004), with the incidence of anemia during pregnancy at the Hanna Kasih Clinic with the highest frequency is 47.1% mild anemia, age 20- 35 years 52.9%, multi gravida parity 34.3% and gestational distance <2 years 77.1%.

Abstract

Babies given colostrum will facilitate breastfeeding success and can reduce 22 % of infant mortality below 28 days. This study uses analytic research with the method of cross sectional approach that aims to determine the relationship between the level of postpartum knowledge about colostrum with the motivation of giving colostrum in Sidorejo Village, Serapit District, Langkat Regency. The data collection technique in this study is total sampling by taking the total population of 30 postpartum mothers in March 2019. Variables in this study are dependent variables, namely motivation for giving colostrum and independent variables (independent), namely the level of postpartum knowledge about colostrum. The results in this study are that there is a significant relationship between the level of postpartum mothers knowledge about colostrum and the motivation for giving colostrum (p-value of 0.024)

Abstract

Breastfeeding is a gift given by God to women. Because breast milk is the best nutrition for babies, especially at the age of 0-6 months. With exclusive breastfeeding, mothers should get nutritious and protein foods because it will affect their milk. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the effectiveness of back massage and breast warm compresses to increase the smooth production of breast milk at the Wirnata Clinic, Medan Sunggal District. This study used Pre and Post Test Control Two Group Desigh, namely to determine the difference in the effectiveness of back massage and breast warm compresses before and after being given. The population in this study were 20 respondents and all of them were used as research samples. In this study using the McNemar Test. The results showed that there was a difference in the effectiveness of back massage on increasing the smoothness of breast milk production at the Wirnata Clinic, Medan Sunggal District with a p-value = 0.008 < (0.05) and warm breast compresses on increasing the smooth milk production at the Wirnata Clinic, Medan Sunggal District with a value of p-value = 0.016 < (0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there are differences in the effectiveness of back massage and warm breast compresses on increasing the smooth production of breast milk at the Wirnata Clinic, Medan Sunggal District. It is suggested to the Wirnata Clinic to be used as a reference about the benefits of back massage and warm breast compresses to increase the smooth production of breast milk.
