Abstract

Sidaguri leaves (Sida rhombifolia L.) Have been shown to contain flavonoid compounds, where they are efficacious as hyperuricemia. This study aims to determine effectiveness ethanol extract of sidaguri leaves as antihyperuricemia in white rats. The study was conducted using the method of potassium oxanate induction and measured using glucometers. 15 animals were divided into 5 groups, namely negative control, positive control, group I combination of ethanol extract of sidaguri leaves 50 mg / kg body weight, group II ethanol extract of sidaguri leaves 100 mg / kg body weight, group III ethanol extract of sidaguri leaves 200 mg / kg body weight for 5 hours. Examination of antihyperuricemia effects is done by comparing the uric acid levels value of the rats before and after treatment. The results of this study indicate that the three dose ethanol extract of sidaguri leaves provide an antihyperuricemia effect and based on one-way Anova, Tuckey and LSD data analysis, shows that the dose of 50 mg / kg body weight is effective as antihyperuricemia and does not have a significant difference (p> 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that the dose is the most effective in decreases uric acid levels in white rats, which is a dose of 200 mg / kg body weight because it mostly decreased uric acid levels.

Abstract

Daun Bau-Bau (Chromolanea odorata (L) King & H Robins) mengandung senyawa minyak atsiri, flavonoid, alkaloid, fenol, saponin, dan tannin. Temu putih (Curcuma zedoria (Berog.)Rosc) mengandung kurkumin, tritepenoid, flavonoida, saponin dan minyak astiri. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membandingkan efektivitas Ekstrak Etanol Daun Bau-Bau dan Ekstrak Etanol Rimpang Temuputih. Ekstraksi sampel menggunakan etanol 96%. Hasil ekstraksi dibagi 7 kelompok konsentrasi yaitu 25%,15%, 10% dan Aquadest sebagai kontrol negatif.Menurut Hasil Analisis Data Anova One Way (Uji Tuckeys B) Diameter luka bakar dari hari pertama sampai ke 14 hari pengamatan mengalami penurunan, kelompok kelinci yang diberi perlakuan dengan ekstrak daun bau-bau konsentrasi 25% pada hari ke- 14 diameter luka bakar mengalami perubahan dengan efektifitas 2 cm (p=0,0). Pada kelompok ekstrak etanol temuputih konsentrasi 25% pada hari ke-14 diameter luka bakar mengalami perubahan dengan efektifitas 1,08 cm (p=0,64). Ekstrak Etanol Daun Bau-Bau Lebih Efektif untuk menyembuhkan luka bakar dibandingkan dengan Ekstrak Etanol Temu Putih.

Abstract

Abstract

Gel hand sanitizer telah banyak digunakan sebagai salah satu cara untuk menjaga kesehatan dan kebersihan tangan yang praktis dan mudah dibawa. Umumnya gel handsanitizer mengandung senyawa alkohol sebagai antiseptik untuk membunuh bakteri, tetapi penggunaan gel antiseptik yang mengandung alkohol dalam jangka panjang dapat menimbulkan iritasi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan bahan alternatif alami yang ramah di kulit. dan tidak mengiritasi kulit,.salah satu tanaman yang memiliki daya antibakteri adalah daun lidah mertua (sansevieria trifasciata prain). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui formulasi dan uji sifat fisik gel handsanitizer dari ekstrak daun lidah mertua (sansevieria trifasciata prain). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan data hasil penelitian disajikan secara deskriptif. Gel dibuat dalam tiga formula dengan kosentrasi yang berbeda yaitu 10%, 20%, 30%. Evaluasi fisik gel yang dilakukan meliputi uji organoleptik, homogenitas, daya lekat, pH, viskositas, dan hedonik. Hasil evaluasi menunjukan formula 1 (10%) dan formula 2 (20%) dan formula 3 (30%). memenuhi semua syarat pada evaluasi sifat fisik gel yang meliputi uji organoleptik, homogenitas, daya lekat, pH, viskositas, dan hedonik.

Abstract

Burns are one of the most common types of injuries in the community. The content of alliin in garlic (Allium sativum L) and onion (Allium cepavarascalonicum) is believed to help heal burns, with its biological activity as anti-aggregation of platelet cells, boost fibrinolysis and as an anti-bacterial. Objective of this research is to know the effect of gaelic extract (Allium sativum L) and red onion (Allium cepa var ascalonicum) to burn on rabbit.The methodology of this research is an experimental method based on a complete randomized design.sample used in this research and onion bulbs taken in Berastagi Subdistrict, Karo Regency, North Sumatera Province.Result of this research show that subjects of Garlic extract with 15% concentration gave the fastest healing effect on 7th day, 10% and 5% dose gave healing effect on the 8th day. Giving onion bulbs extract at 15%, 10% and 5% concentration gave healing effect of burn on 8th day. The healing of burns in the comparison group was on the 8th day while the longest burn healing in the control group was on the 10th day. Conclusion is an effect that can be found in the extract of garlic and onion extract to the burn on the rabbit.

Abstract

One type of cosmetic or decorative cosmetic preparation is eyeshadow which contains a color pigment applied to the eyelid. The purpose of this study was to find out that kecombrang flower extract can be used as eyelid coloring. From the study to make eyeshadow preparations using dyes extracted from kecombrang flowers, to determine the stability of the eyeshadow by using kecombrang flower extract in storage at room temperature, and to find out whether eyeshadow preparations using extracts from kecombrang flowers cause irritation when used. Eyeshadow preparations from kecombrang flower extract (Etlingera elatior Jack) were made in various concentrations of 15%, 17.5%, 20%, 22.5%, 25% and blank preparations (without using kecombrang flower extract). Physical quality inspection of the preparation includes: color dispersion test (homogeneity), cracking test, and stock stability test. And for other tests carried out polishing tests (homogeneity) and irritation tests. Eyeshadow from kecombrang flower extract also does not cause irritation and is stable in room temperature storage for 30 days. Preparation of kecombrang flower extract with several good concentrations was used as eyeshadow preparations, stable eyeshadow preparations in storage at room temperature within 30 days, and the formulation of eyeshadow preparations using kecombrang flower extract as eyelid coloring did not cause irritation.

Abstract

Blush on is a cosmetic preparation for coloring the cheeks with an artistic touch so that it can increase the attractive impression in makeup (Nurhayati, 2016). Many blush-on preparations come from chemicals, which can cause spotty, black spots and can trigger skin cancer. One alternative that can be used is by making a blush on natural ingredients, namely Tree Tomato. The purpose of this study was to find out the Ethanol Extract of the Tree Tomato Fruit was made as a blush on coloring in compact preparations.The sample used in this study was Tree Tomato, red and had a soft texture taken from the cultivation of Tree tomato in the village of Brastagi, Karo District, North Sumatra Province. Making extracts is done by maceration and the process of making blush. After that evaluation of blush on preparation is carried out. Evaluation test results of blush on ethanol extract of tree tomato fruit include. The results of homogeneity tests are declared homogeneous, pH test averages 6.4, irritation test results stated not to irritate, the test results of the three formulations can be concluded that the three most preferred form of blush on panelists are formulations with a concentration of 15%, because they have a comfortable level of application, clear colors and very soft.Ethanol extract of Tree Tomato fruit can be made as a dye in compact preparations.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia associated with abnormal carbohydrate metabolism, fats, and protein caused by decreased insulin secretion or decreased insulin sensitivity, or both and cause chronic microvaskular, and neuropathic complication. Plants are a source of secondary metabolite compounds that are useful as medicine. Many types of plants have activities as traditional medicines, one of which is the odorous plant leaves (chromolaena odorata L.) belonging to the Asteraceae family, traditionally used for wound healing, treating infections, diarrhea, antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory, and diuretic. The odor plant (Chromolaena odorata L.) is reported to contain various compounds in the form of essential oils, flavonoids, alkaloids, phenols, saponins, and tannins.Glibenklamid is a group of sulfonylurea drugs that work to stimulate insulin secretion in the pancreas. Compouds that play a role in reducing blood glucose level in bau-bau leaves is flavonoids, tanin, saponins, alkaloids. This researchaims to evaluate the effect of bau-bau leaves ekstract in reducing the glucose level of wistar strain rats. Test results shown that ethanol bau-bau leaves extract with a dose of 100, 200, 300 mg/kgbb was able to reduce blood glucosse levels in diabetic rats induced by allixan and in the positive control of glibenclamide decreased KGD 105 mg/dL. The conclusion of this reserach was leaves bau-bau extract can reduce blood glucose levels in 300 mg/kgbb is the most effective 77 mg/dL.

Abstract

Senior high school students are young adults who are very active and have broad interactions between each other and their families so that this age group has the potential to become carriers in the transmission of Covid-19. For this reason, this age group needs to build its immune system through various efforts to live healthy behaviors including consuming ingredients / foods that can increase the body's immunity, there are many natural resources in the form of spices that can be used as basic ingredients for making drinks that are useful for increasing body immunity in the body. during the Covid-19 pandemic. The existence of spice plants (red ginger, cinnamon, and brown sugar) which are commonly planted by residents around Deli Tua. Red Ginger contains curcuminoid compounds which function as immunostimulators in boosting the immune system. In addition, spices such as cinnamon and brown sugar contain antioxidants that are high enough to ward off free radicals in our bodies. Community service activities were carried out at the Vocational School of the Indonesian Build Education Foundation (YAPIM) by providing education and lectures to class XII students regarding processing red ginger, cinnamon and brown sugar. The purpose of this service is to provide information about the processing of red ginger, cinnamon and brown sugar into traditional drinks that can increase the body's immunity in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. The service was carried out by providing an explanation of the stages of the manufacturing process, then continued with direct practice. The results of this community service are in the form of traditional drinks made from red ginger, cinnamon and brown sugar which are expected to increase the immunity of students and the community, then increase knowledge and skills in processing red ginger, cinnamon and brown sugar, especially for extension participants.
