Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to study the effect of the concentration of growth inhibitor Paclobutrazol (Pbz) against the high growth of clove seedlings (Syzygium aromaticum (L.) Merryl & Perry) and get Pbz concentrations that can produce seed cloves in a relatively short (dwarf). The results showed that spraying Paclobutrazol (Pbz) with 25-100 ppm affect height growth of clove seedlings. Pbz the higher concentration applications, the shorter the length of apical segments produced shoots. In other words, the higher the concentration Pbz, the higher the emphasis on high growth of clove seedlings. Pbz emphasis on high growth of clove seedlings varied from the lowest, ie. 3.79% (25 ppm) up to the highest, ie 69.85% (100 ppm). Based on the comparison of height increment of plants sprayed with Paclobutrazol, the dose applications can be used to get the seed cloves that dwarf is a concentration of 50 to 100 ppm. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe type of soil in the research site is Andisol soil with clay texture. The Andisol soil characteristics is a dark color / black, gray, dark brown to yellowish. The soil derived from volcanic ashes from the eruption of the volcano. Therefore, this type of soil are found in the area around the volcano's slopes. Like the soil in this research is located on the slopes of Mount Mahawu. Although it has many advantages, but the ground Andisol also has many disadvantages. Andisol ground weakness is due to the loose structure and crumbly, the type of soil is very easy take by rainwater. Therefore, in this research, land conservation efforts in the form of plastic mulching. In this study the use of plastic mulch as a treatment, more soil erosion results in the use of plastic mulch plots compared to not using plastic mulch. This is due to the use of plastic mulch, most of the rain water does not infiltrated into the ground because it was blocked by the plastic mulch, causing greater runoff. sistem informasi geografis.ABSTRACThis study was conducted during one month (May 29, - June 29, 2014) andimplemented in the city of Manado. This study aims to analyze the flood prone areas in thecity of Manado in order to obtain the level of vulnerability and dissemination of informationin the form of a map by using a Geographic Information System. The study was conducted byusing descriptive method which consists of collecting data and map overlay. While theidentification of flood-prone areas using the method by Hematang (2011). Parametersmeasured were soil type, slope, land use and rainfall. The results of this study show the studyarea prone to flooding in the city of Manado has not vulnerable flood level (an area of603.34 ha), the vulnerability of being (an area of 5467.01 ha), are not susceptible (coveringan area of 6492.39 ha) and the rate is very susceptible (an area of 2180.11 ha) spread in 10districts namely Bunaken, Malalayang, Mapanget, Sario, Singkil, Paal Dua, Tikala,Tuminting, Wanea and Wenang.Key Word : mapping, flood, geographic information system

Abstract

Abstract The objective of this study aims to determine the value or the value of soil erodibility K at various heights along the road Manado - Tomohon. The metode used in this research is the method of stratified random. Analisis soil texture using a pipette. The data is then inserted in the soil texture triangle K values for determining the K value of the land at any altitude. Things are observed is 1). Slopes, 2). land use, 3). Soil texture, and 4). K Value. The data obtained in terms of three grades K arranged in tabular form to determine the value of K dignity and then described descriptively. The results showed that at altitude: 1). 200 m above sea level K value of 0.379; 2). 300 m asl K value of 0.393, 3). 400 m asl value amounted to 0,384 K, 4). 500 m above sea level K value of 0.397, 5). 600 m asl K value of 0.376, 6). 700 m above sea level K value of 0.370, and 7). 800 m asl K value of 0.430. Based on the K value obtained at each altitude or soil erodibility K values are rather high. Keywords: Erodibility Land (K), High Places
