Abstract

Communication is a process of transmitting messages from sources to recipients through various channels. While the purpose of human communication is to share experience and knowledge, delivered in the language of signals, words, writing, movement, and broadcasting. The results of the process are created a theory named diffusion of information, also stands for innovation diffusion theory. for some institution, the task is the duty of a Public Relations. In performing its job, as of 2010 the Public Relations motion was increasingly 'supervised' by the constitutional Law No.14 of 2008, as well as Public Relations of Salatiga Local Government. This research was conducted in Public Relations of Salatiga Local Government for two months of observation and interviewing using a qualitative approach especially grounded theory research. Data triangulation was conducted at the Department of Transportation, Communication, Culture, and Tourism (Dishubkombudpar) in Salatiga and interviews with two of the four Chairmen of the Forum of Public Communication Institutions (FLKM) in Salatiga. In addition, the implementation of Law on the Openness of Public Information in Salatiga is not reserve in accordance with the Mayor's Decree No. 950/434/2012 and information management guidelines and documentation for officials at the State Public Agency Central and Regional Level (Issued by the Ministry of Communication and Information Indonesia).

Abstract

Kandri is Gunungpati administrative area in the district, which is located in the city of Semarang in Central Java province which have Kreo Caves Nature Area. The tourist area has now been developed with the construction of dam Artificial Jatibarang which was completed in 2014. The reservoir has sunk acres of farmland, resulting in most of the Kandri citizens lose their livelihoods as farmers, and switch to the efforts in the field of tourism. Kandri rural communities in the development of a tourist village has set up a group called Pokdarwis tourism awareness in the form of a tourism cluster. The tourism cluster not yet have an information system that is capable of managing a data member, as well as a means of product promotion and online sales. This research aims to design a cluster of business information systems, and implement into web technology. System development method used is prototype models. The information system is implemented using the programming language PHP and CodeIgniter framework with a MySQL database. Results of this research is an e-commerce information system that features business profile information management, resource development and asset cluster members. These systems also use social plugins that like facebook as a marketing tool products. Thus, the information system can be used as an online store business clusters, media promotion, and data center can yield information about the development of the classification of business entities SME cluster members, so it can be used by cluster administrators and stakeholdesr in monitoring the business development of its members.

Abstract

This research was conducted at the Information Technology Faculty because based on the analysis of the tag metadata used on Instagram social networks, there were more than the other faculties at Satya Wacana Christian University, which were 5,444 posts as of October 26, 2018. The research method used was explorative for provide an explanation of the topics used in the study. Data analysis in qualitative research was carried out before entering the research arena. The results showed that the success of SWCU Public Relations students interpreting instagram can be seen from the reasonableness of individuals that can be accepted by the social environment. Student life in real life and Instagram media are sometimes not compatible but all judgments about positive and negative impacts are determined by each individual. This research answers Bell's (2001) social simulation theory which shows that the meaning of Instagram for SWCU Public Relations students is a tool for behaving to adjust the demands of technology through social media.

Abstract

Reportase investigasi televisi dalam kurun waktu sepuluh tahun terakhir bisa dikatakan berkembang sangat pesat baik dari segi tampilan berita maupun proses peliputan. Bagian dari salah satu proses peliputan dari proses peliputan adalah proses penulisan naskah beritanya. Tentunya proses penulisan naskah berita harus disesuaikan dengan topik, durasi hingga jam tayang yang dilakukan. Dengan melihat fenomena menarik dari reportase investigasi yang secara umum memiliki durasi tayangan yang cukup banyak yaitu 30 menit dan ditempatkan dalam sebuah program rundown televisi, penulis merasa tertarik untuk meneliti reportase investigasi yang disusun sedikit berbeda dibandingkan reportase investigasi lainnya. Oleh karena itu maka focus penelitian yang di pilih oleh penulis adalah berkaitan dengan tayangan berita kriminal BUSER yang menempatkan segmen Investigasi dalam program tersebut. Segmen yang dimaksud adalah segmen Informasi Kriminal (Infokrim). Segmen ini memiliki durasi tayang yang cukup singkat yaitu 7-10 menit. Yang menjadi pertanyaan adalah bagaimanakah berita ini bisa dikategorikan investigasi ringan? Dan selanjutnaya adalah bagaimana subjektifitas wartawan, ideology serta agenda seting media dipakai dalam proses penyusunan naskah berita tersebut? Dalam penelitian ini dibatasi pada bagaimana peran para wartawan dalam menuangkan pemikiran berdasarkan fakta yang terjadi di lapangan dengan konflik psikologis yang terjadi dalam diri wartawan tersebut. Adapun jenis penelitian yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif dan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif.Dari hasil penelitian ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa team liputan dalam segmen Infokrim merupakan agen konstruksionisme yang meyakini bahwa fakta atau realita selalu dibentuk sehingga ketika mereka terjun kelapangan selalu mengalami situasi dimana mereka pun harus berkompromi dengan situasi dan kondisi dilapangan. Kesimpulan lain dari proses penulisan naskah berita ini adalah berkaitan dengan ideology yang dipakai oleh wartawan itu sendiri. Disini dapat ditemui bahwa ideology media menjadi cukup kuat untuk melakukan perdebatan dengan ideology wartawan itu sendiri.

Abstract

Politics as a symbolic system had been provided space for analysts to contribute their argument. Very diverse symbolic Systems has different interpretations. Therefore, this paper is concern to see the symbol in Christianity is actually more complex when associated with Christian leadership. Challenges and obstacles also come off in form of political communication in the form of distortion that is built on the basis of Christian leadership. Jokowian which is the introduction of a new model of leadership to the Indonesian context is also available as an answer to the question of how leadership can be embedded in the soul of Christian leaders in Indonesia?. Abstract

Public Relations merupakan suatu aktivitas komunikasi dua arah dengan public baik internal maupun eksternal perusahaan atau organisasi yang bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan saling pengertian, saling percaya, saling membantu dan kerjasama. Menangani wartawan, mengelola majalah perusahaan, dan mendokumentasikan kegiatan-kegiatan yang berhubungan dengan perusahaan merupakan kegiatan-kegiatan pada divisi Public Relations. Berbagai divisi di”ciptakan” dengan tujuan agar mengakomodir dan mempermudah kinerja Public Relations officer.  Sehingga sering kita temui berbagai divisi dengan penamaan berdasarkan kebutuhan perusahan atau lembaga, namun tetap melakukan kinerja dan fungsi seorang PR. Hal ini pun terjadi pada lembaga pendidikan tingkat perguruan Tinggi seperti Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana.

Abstract

Indonesian Journalism has shown increased after the collapse of new order. Freedom of the press who fought for so long, successfully obtained with full of struggle. However, the use of freedom of the press is apparently still erroneous and inaccurate. The mass media are supposed to be part of the development of the nations character and religious tolerance, but in Fact, Mass media gave the impression that they did not care about the impact of journalism message. This article aims to explain and describe how tolerance in Indonesia could be built and escorted by journalism in Indonesia. Finally, the results of this paper is that the use of the phrase journalism shows that is not aware of the cultural diversity, and this things would be a time bomb in Indonesian society of tolerance and diversity.Keywords:Jurnalism, Culture, Tolerance

Abstract

Behavior   is   someone   response orreaction towards   the external stimulus (stimuli from the outside). In a company or agency, individual behavior is strongly influenced by the work environment, thus forming a pattern of organizational behavior. Religious rituals are still practiced todays, unconsciously limit people behavior. Indications of changes in employee behavior also occur on Sub.Bag.Humas dan Penagihan PDAM Salatiga. This research was conducted to determine how behavior and communication changes caused by particular moment (Ramadhan).  The method used in this research is qualitative ethnographic that intens to understand social phenomenon of the changing pattern of behavior and communication that occurs at specific moment (Ramadhan). The results of this research, stated that the behavior and communication undergo changes because of special moment which it has implications on employee’s performance and even the rules in the company.Keywords: Behavior modifications, Communication, Public Relations (Humas)

Abstract

Understanding of "imaging" has often been heard or known by the wider community is no exceptionto the people of Indonesia. By seeing and referring to the news that is often broadcast by the massmedia, imaging becomes a very important thing in the life of modern society. This study aims toprovide an understanding of the imaging process that has been dominating (imaging formed in aplanned and structured) that turned out to be contrary to the facts and reality. The example of thecase used is tourism destination in the district of Semarang named Bukit Cinta. This Research willbe focused on the process of the meaning image (Citra) based on the myth that is believed by thepublic around Bukit Cinta. Research using qualitative research methods that will discuss in depthabout the meaning process of an image which will help the authors to develop new conceptsrelated to the concept of imaging itself. Learning from the experience and early findings of thisresearch, the authors believe that the image can be “set up” but at the same time, the image canalso occur without any element of deliberation or setting.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the role of media relations in forming positive news on printed media by having a special page for Salatiga news as research focus. This research is a qualitative research by using qualitative descriptive approach. Observation, interview, document collection and photo activities are used to collect data. The result indicates that informal media relations activities are more effective to create positive news about Salatiga government in printed media because it can build good relation between Public Relations practitioners and journalists.
