Abstract

Hydrogen is an alternative energy that has a very abundant amount in nature, three-fourths of all elements in nature are hydrogen. Abundance can be developed because it can be converted into electrical energy and is expected to be able to replace fossil materials that are increasingly depleting in the future. For the management of hydrogen, a very safe storage is needed. One of the efforts by inserting hydrogen in certain metals. Magnesium is one material that is able to absorb hydrogen. But it has a disadvantage, namely the absorption and release time is very slow, this is due to the strong bond between hydrogen and magnesium. Several attempts have been intensively studied to improve the properties of Magnesium including the use of materials in the form of nanocrystals with Mechanical alloying techniques and efforts to add certain catalysts are now being actively studied. Research on the addition of Hematite (Fe2O3) catalysts to hydrogen storage materials has been carried out through Mechanical alloying techniques based on MgH2-Fe2O3. Hematite purely derived from nature has been successfully extracted chemically (precipitation method). The milled MgH2-Fe2O3 alloy samples were then analyzed by XRD and showed that the MgH2-Fe2O3 material was successfully reduced to the nanocrystal scale. The addition of catalysts and extended milling time also showed a decrease in desorption temperature.

Abstract

Hydrogen is a renewable energy source that can be used as a fuel and as an  alternative to fossil fuels. Solid  storage media in solid form are safer to use than liquid (-253 oC) or gaseous media (700 bar) media. To store hydrogen in a solid medium, it requires a metal able to  interact with hydrogen . Magnesium is one of the metals which  can form metal hybrids based on MgH2 which is capable of  absorbing hydrogen up to  (7.6wt%). However, the reaction kinetics for  magnesium are  very slow, it takes at least 60 minutes to absorb hydrogen and the operating temperature is always  very high (300 oC). Several attempts have been made to add the catalytic converter  and milling time. Hydrogen storage material based on MgH2 with a 10wt%Ni catalyst was  successfully synthesized using a mechanical alloy technique with time variations of 2 hours, 5 hours, and 10 hours. From the results of the X-ray diffraction schema  at a diffraction angle of 2θ=37.87o, it shows the presence of a MgH2 phase, Ni phase is at a diffraction angle of 61.85o, the diffraction peak also shows that there was a  widening of the diffraction peak with increasing milling time, this explains that there was  a reduction in the size of the crystal. When  calculating  with the Schereer method, the crystal size of the material reaches 10 nm. The results of the DSC test indicated  a decrease in temperature of 383 oC in 41 minutes with a milling time of 10 hours.

Abstract

Hand sanitizer products on the market generally contain alcohol which can cause dry hands and dehydration of the skin, therefore alternative ingredients that are skin-friendly and do not irritate the skin are needed such as the use of natural ingredients. One of them is bay leaf (Syzygium polyanthum). Salam plant is a plant that has antibacterial properties. The main ingredients that have antibacterial properties are flavonoids, tannins, essential oils, steroids, so that bay leaves can be used as a hand sanitizer to reduce alcohol use. The manufacture of bay leaf hand sanitizer is done by extracting the bay leaves with 96% ethanol solvent. The extraction results are then dissolved with other supporting materials which are certainly safe for health. It is hoped that the bay leaf hand sanitizer will be a safer alternative to hand sanitizers than alcohol-based hand sanitizers

Abstract

Desa Sriwijaya merupakan salah satu desa yang ada di Kecamatan Kota Kualasimpang Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang. Desa ini termasuk salah satu desa yang terdampak banjir, sehingga saat banjir melanda, resiko penularan dan serangan penyakit tertentu pun menjadi meningkat. Penyakit yang biasa muncul saat terjadi banjir adalah demam berdarah yang disebabkan oleh nyamuk aedes aegypti. Banyak langkah-langkah yang bisa dilakukan dalam pencegahan penyakit DBD yaitu dengan melakukan 3M (Menguras, Menutup dan Mengubur). Selain itu penggunaan obat nyamuk sintetis juga dapat dilakukan dalam pencegahan DBD yang dapat ditemukan di pasaran antara lain obat nyamuk bakar, elektrik, spray dan lotion. Namun penggunaan obat nyamuk ini mengandung bahan-bahan kimia yang sangat berbahaya seperti diklorvos dan DEET . Oleh karena itu penggunaan bahan-bahan alami dapat menggantikan  penggunaan obat anti nyamuk sintetis yang tidak berbahaya sekaligus ramah lingkungan adalah dengan menggunakan tanaman daun serai (Cymbopogon nardus). Pada tanaman daun serai mengandung zat-zat seperti senyawa geraniol dan sitronela, dimana senyawa tersebut merupakan kandungan yang terdapat pada obat nyamuk semprot. Terdapat tiga tahapan  metode dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM yaitu sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan yang bertujuan untuk memonitoring dan mengevaluasi terhadap perkembangan hasil kegiatan untuk keberlanjutan program PKM di desa tersebut. Hasil kegiatan PKM ini adalah mitra sasaran yang memiliki keterampilan dan kreativitas dalam membuat obat anti nyamuk sendiri. Melalui kegiatan edukasi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya menjaga kebersihan lingkungan serta meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat tentang cara membuat obat anti nyamuk dari bahan-bahan alami

Abstract

Keberhasilan budidaya perikanan Ikan Lele dapat dilihat dari kualitas air yang digunakan, meskipun Ikan Lele dapat bertahan hidup pada kondisi air yang buruk akan tetapi tidak berpengaruh pada proses perkembangannya. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari parameter fisik yang akan diukur antara lain suhu, derajat keasaman (pH), dan oksigen terlarut. Kondisi air dengan keadaan kadar pH terlalu asam atau basa dan suhu air yang tinggi dapat mempengaruhi kegagalan budidaya Ikan Lele tersebut. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan pengamatan berkala pada kondisi air agar tetap terjaga tumbuh kembang benih Ikan Lele yang dibudidayakan tersebut. Permasalahan mitra pembudidayaan benih Ikan Lele Gampoeng Seuriget dalam kegiatan Pengandian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini, yaitu masih menggunakan cara konvensional dalam pengamatan kondisi air tersebut yang diyakini memiliki kelemahan, karena faktor kesalahpahaman pada manusia dengan tingkat akurasi hasil pengukuran. Kegiatan tersebut, akan dibangun sebuah sistem berbasis IoT untuk pemantauan kualitas air kolam benih ikan lele. Selain itu, kualitas air kolam terkontrok secara otamatis. Adapun pelaksanaannya meliputi persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Pada Pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi dan praktek lapangan. Pada tahapan ini tim PKM mengundang mitra pembudidaya Ikan Lele Gampoeng Suriget untuk memberikan pengarahan dan pengetahuan mengenai penggunaan sistem berbasis IoT untuk kualitas air kolam dalam meningkatkan budidaya produksi benih Ikan Lele Gampoeng Seuriget sebagai solusi dalam pembelajaran untuk para pembudidaya Ikan Lele

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) provides solutions and innovations regarding the Application of Dryer Equipment to Increase the Production of Awaina Terasi Business in Langsa City, Aceh. The activity was carried out with the target of this program being the Gampong Light Terasi Business group, one of which was the Awaina Terasi Business and community groups. The main problem faced by partners is the absence of an effective, practical, and inexpensive dryer for shrimp paste during the rainy season so that production is stopped. Activities carried out for partners during service are making and training in the use of dryers for shrimp paste. The results of this activity increase the knowledge of partners and local community groups which are the Gampong Light Terasi Business group in making shrimp paste dryers that are portable, low production costs, and easy to maintain. The shrimp paste dryer will increase the production of community entrepreneurs.
