Abstract

Background: Surgery is one of medical interventions which can cause fear, anxiety, and stressed because of its effects toward the integrity of body and soul. Nurses have significant roles in any preoperative care which is helping patients to decrease preoperative anxiety by using complementary therapy. The use of music therapy as one of the complementary therapies is not common in Indonesia. Therefore, scientific studies to prove the role of this therapy to decrease the level of anxiety of pre-operative patients is needed. Objective: To investigate the effects of music therapy in reducing anxiety levels of preoperative patients. Methods: A quasy experimental study with pre-test and post-test design with control group was applied to 50 respondents from medical ward in Panembahan Senopati Hospital of Yogyakarta who met the inclusion criteria.Dara were then analyzed by using t-test statistical analysis. Results: The control group showed the increased value of anxiety level of0.8 without music intervention (t= - 1503, df = 24, p<.05), whereas the intervention group showed the decreased value of anxiety level of -5.52 (t=5.081, df=24, p<.05). Meanwhile the independent t-test results for both groups showed a significant difference between group (t= 3,373, df=48, p<.05). Conclusion: Music therapy has significant effect in reducing preoperative anxiety levels of patients. Keywords: anxiety, preoperative, music therapy

Abstract

Background: Preoperative patients can be experience an anxiety. Anxiety can be expressed through physiological changes that will be known by a change in the sympathetic response which some of them are increased in heart rate and blood pressure. Preliminary study results shows 4 of 6 patients got an increase in anxiety with signs of increased in blood pressure and pulse. Hypno relaxation is a complementary therapy for anxiety, while in the hypnotic state, most people will be experience relaxation, decrease blood pressure, and pulse. Objective: Determine the influence of hypno relaxation to the blood pressure and pulse in patients with preoperative fracture in RSUD Bantul. Methods: This study is a quassy experiment with design of the study is pre-test and post-test non equivalent control group. Samples were taken using purposive sampling techniques amounted to 24 respondents. 12 people was on control group and 12 was on intervention group. Research instrument which used was a record of hypno relaxation stages, the mercury sphygmomanometer and stethoscope. The results were analyzed using Independent Samples t-test and Paired Samples t-test. Results: The results of the equal measurement in blood pressure and pulse in the pre and post test control group are 1.17 x / min and 0.5 mmHg, which showed an increase. Whereas in the intervention group difference in equal blood pressure and pulse are 7.00 mmHg and 6.25 x / min, which showed a decrease. Statistic result using independent t-test got (p) value 0.000 <0.05 with t -7,257 for blood pressure and t -8,888 for pulse, and can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the mean value of pulse and blood pressure between the control group and intervention group of hypno relaxation. On the statistic test using Paired t-test got (p) value 0.000 <0.05 in the intervention group, it means that hypno relaxation can be influence the pulse and blood pressure significantly. Conclusion: Hypno relaxation have an effects on blood pressure and pulse on the preoperative patient's with fracture in RSUD Bantul. Keywords: Blood pressure, pulse, preoperative, fracture, and hypno relaxation.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a condition when the systolic blood pressure over 120 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure was more than 80 mmHg. Untreated hypertension will lead to complications such as stroke, coronary heart disease, narrowing of blood vessels, kidney failure, heart failure and diabetes mellitus can even cause death. There by preventing these complications do one non-pharmacological therapy is by using the Emotional Freedom Technique. Objective: Knowing there any influence of emotional freedom techniques to decrease blood pressure in people with hypertension. Methods: This research was aquasi-experimental. Sampling using purposive sampling with the number of respondents 30 people were divided into two groups: an intervention group(n =15) andcontrol group (n=15). Interventions carried 6 times for 2 week session. The statistical test used is Paired t-test and Independent t-test with significance level α=0.05. The results: The results of this study indicate that patients with hypertension in the intervention group had a mean value of 21.33 mmHg lower post test than the pretest value, whereas in the control group had a mean value of 7.33 mmHg decrease from pretest value. Results Paired sample t-test obtained p value =0.000 (p <0.005). Then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. Mean while, according totest result sobtained by the Independent t-test t value=-6.212 (p =0.000) can be concluded there is a significant difference between the decrease in average blood pressure between emotional freedom technique intervention group and the control group. Conclusion: Emotional Freedom Technique has influence in lowering blood pressure in people with hypertension are significant compared with the control group without the Emotional Freedom Technique. Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a serious problem due to its high prevalence. Hypertension might be caused by life style changes such as smoking, obesity, physical inactivity and psychosocial stress. Almost 90% of hypertension prevalence is primary hipertension, with not-known causes. Hypertension can be treated with pharmacology and non-pharmacology approach. One of the applicable non-pharmacoogy methods is hypnorelaxation. Hypnorelaxation effects on the relaxation of the mind by producing endorphin through brain wave conversion. Suqsequently, blood pressure in patiens with hypertension will decrease. Objective: This study aimed to examine the influence of hypnorelaxation on the reduction blood pressure in patients with primary hypertension in Pedukuhan VI Sonosewu Ngestiharjo Kasihan Bantul Yogyakarta. Methods: The methods used in this study was quasy experimental with pre-and post-test in control group design. The subject was the patient with primary hypertension whose age 45-59 and 23 sampel were involved. The data collection was carried out through observation sheet, recording voice of hypnorelaxation and measurement of blood pressure. Results: There was a significant difference in systolic and diastolic blood pressure changes between intervention and control group. Conclusion: The study showed that there was influence of hypnorelaxation on blood pressure reduction in primary hypertension patients. Keywords: Hypnorelaxation, blood pressure
