Abstract

This study aims to determine the meaning of self-confidence in the order of denotation signs and Roland Barthes' connotations in the film Imperfect: Career, Love, & Scales. The model used in this research is Rolan Barthes' Connotation Sign Order and Denotation model, in the analysis of the film there are several connotation and denotation meanings contained in each Scane film. Based on these objectives, the method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. A qualitative approach to communication emphasizes how an approach can reveal the meanings of existing communication content. Qualitative research focuses on the general principles that underlie the manifestation of a meaning from social phenomena in society
