Abstract

Nusa Penida is part of the Province of Bali which consists of three small islands, namely Nusa Penida Island, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan within the administrative area of Nusa Penida District, Klungkung Regency. The development of tourism in Nusa Penida has increased access to physical development and supporting facilities for the region. The leap of development of tourism facilities began to be felt starting in 2005, namely on the islands of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. The development of massive tourism facilities took place in 2015 until 2019 since the 2014 Nusa Penida Festival was held. Many coastal and inland areas were built with tourism accommodation, which naturally led to land conversion and land depreciation. The purpose of this study was to determine land use change from 2003 to 2019 using the overlapping analysis method of Google maps and maps derived from quick bird imagery. Transfer of land functions in the Nusa Penida Region from 2003 to 2019 reached 164.84 ha or the rate of land use change that occurred in the Nusa Penida Region was 0.85%.

Abstract

Land is an essential component for the sustainability of human life. Population growth and urbanization affect the availability of land in an area. Therefore, the land never increases, but the need for land continues to grow every year, converted to housing and other facilities. As an area that continues to develop, Klungkung Regency has decreased the availability of land due to development and investment activities, especially tourism investment and the construction of other supporting facilities for tourism and regional development. Therefore, the availability of land in Klungkung Regency continues to experience pressure, which impacts the ability to provide food. This study aims to determine land requirements, land availability, and land carrying capacity status in Klungkung Regency, which the policy-makers can consider to support food sustainability in Klungkung Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach using primary data from direct observations in the field and secondary data from government and previous research. The results show that the carrying capacity of land in the Klungkung Regency is in deficit based on the projections for 2021 to 2030. In overcoming the land deficit, it is necessary to increase land productivity by using land effectively and technology transfer to increase food productivity. Keywords: carrying capacity, food sustainability, Klungkung Regency land conversion

Abstract

Poverty is an illustration to determine a household’s ability to fulfill fundamental rights or the necessities of a decent and dignified life as measured by the poverty line. Klungkung Regency, in the last five years, has made efforts to accelerate poverty reduction through the macro side. It maintains economic growth, reduces inflation, increases investment, creates jobs, and the micro side, namely increasing income and reducing the burden on public spending. Through pro-poor, pro-employment, and pro-regional growth programs. This research aimed to determine the poverty conditions and the reduction in the percentage of poor people in the Klungkung. The research method used quantitative and qualitative approaches, using government data sources and narrated qualitatively. This research uses the theory of poverty culture, various innovative development programs, and poverty to reduce the percentage and number of poor people from year to year. In 2016 the percentage of poverty was 6.35%, or the number of poor people was 11,210. In 2017 the percentage of poor people was 6, 29%, or the number of poor people by 11,150. In 2018 the percentage of poor people was 5.86%, or the number of poor people was 10,430. In 2019, the percentage of poor people was 5.4%, or the number of poor people was 9,960 people. In 2020 the percentage of poor people was 4.87%, or the number of poor people is 8,760. Abstract

Garbage is a problem that must be faced by the community, because garbage is a form of environmental pollution, where garbage can have an impact on public health, such as; odors, floods, destroy aesthetics, fire, greenhouse effect and so on. Household waste management requires active community participation so that the role of the government does not get heavier. Increase community participation in waste management in Denpasar City. In an effort to build the effectiveness of waste management in Denpasar City, it is necessary to develop a community-based waste management model in Denpasar City. The purpose of developing a waste management model is to actively involve the community in managing waste in Denpasar City. This study uses the Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM) method approach by using elements of the affected community, elements of program objectives, elements of indicators to achieve goals, elements of the main constraints and elements of the institutions involved. In compiling the sub-elements from each element, it involves figures, experts, actors and activists in Denpasar City on community-based waste management. The results of the modeling show that the participatory role of the community is very important in reducing waste through reuse, increasing community involvement and implementing 3R activities. The main obstacle in waste management is the limited facilities and infrastructure for waste management and the unclear waste management organization. Possible changes are that law enforcement and waste regulations must be clear and the involvement of all stakeholders in community-based waste management in Denpasar City. Abstract

Water quality management efforts need to be carried out in a sustainable manner to ensure that water resources are free from pollution. Water is an important component in human life, therefore the existence of water in nature must be maintained to ensure the continuity of human life. Decreasing water quality is caused by pollutant loads that enter water bodies due to human activities disposing of waste directly into the water. Batujai Reservoir is one of the vital objects for the survival of the people of Central Lombok. In an effort to control water pollution in the Batujai Reservoir, a model that is capable of managing Batujai Reservoir water is needed in a sustainable manner. The purpose of this research is to develop a model capable of managing the water in the Batujai Reservoir in a sustainable manner. The research methodology uses a quantitative approach using primary data from interviews with figures and experts as well as secondary data from literature studies and previous research data. Data analysis used the Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM) approach. ISM is able to simplify complex relationships to be simple and form a hierarchy between existing relationships and be able to describe them in the form of system modeling. The results showed that the water pollution control model in Batujai Reservoir was carried out by involving all relevant stakeholders by placing academics, NGOs and Central Lombok Bappeda as the main drivers of program implementation and using the local wisdom approach. Keywords: pollution, control, water, model, batujai.

Abstract

Water is an essential requirement for human life. Maintain water availability, both in terms of quality and quantity, in relation to the surrounding environmental conditions. The socio-cultural conditions of the people of Nusa Penida are very much influenced by the presence of water, even social conflicts occur because of the water crisis. The main problem with drinking water raw sources is the availability of water sources which continues to decline from year to year, while water demand continues to increase due to population growth. Areas that have limited water resources will cause economic resources to be used to meet water needs. As an area that has limited water resources, Nusa Penida has springs that are mostly difficult to reach and access by the community. Two springs with quite large discharge are Penida Spring and Guyangan Spring which have been distributed to the community and to fulfill tourism needs. This study aims to determine the feasibility of Penida and Guyangan Springs as a source of drinking water based on Governor of Bali Regulation Number 16 of 2016 concerning Environmental Quality Standards and Standard Criteria for Environmental Damage and to determine the potential sources of pollutants for these two springs. This study uses a quantitative approach combined with primary data sources from direct observations in the field and uses secondary data sources from literature and previous research. The results showed that the Penida and Guyangan Springs were in good condition and met quality standards. Potential sources of pollutants from Penida Springs come from residential activities and tourism activities, while Guyangan Springs does not have pollutants because they are located in a place that is difficult to reach and is in the bowels of Nusa Penida Island.
