Abstract

Teachers’ diagnostic practice on students-difficulties is one of the important steps in designing and managing classroom lessons. The purpose of this study was to explore teachers’ perception and practices regarding diagnosing students’ learning difficulties. The participants of the study were 28 Indonesian mathematics teachers of Junior High School. The data was collected through a Focus Group Discussion and a teacher questionnaire. The data were analyzed qualitatively to describe how the teachers perceive learning difficulties and how the teachers diagnosed students’ learning difficulties. The results of the analysis reveal that the teachers do not yet perform an in-depth diagnosis of students’ difficulties in learning mathematics. The teachers only focus on the mathematics topics and non-mathematical issues, instead of on students’ thinking process. The teachers also do not differentiate the diagnosis, evaluation, and prediction test. With regard to the strategies used by the teachers to diagnose students’ difficulties, analyzing students’ responses to tests was the majority. In this respect, observing students’ learning process during classroom activities is rarely done by the teachers in the purpose of diagnosing students’ learning difficulties. The results of the diagnosis are mainly used as the basis for remedial and drill and practices. The results imply that more support is needed for teachers to improve their competences particularly in diagnosing students’ thinking process difficulties when learning mathematics.

Abstract

This quasi-experimental study aims to determine the impact of realistic mathematics education (RME) on increasing Mathematical Problem-Solving Abilities (MPSA). The research design used was the non-equivalent control group with the subject population of all junior high school students in the city of Yogyakarta originating from low (C), moderate (B), and high (A) levels. From each school level, one school was taken then from each school taken an experimental class that received RME and one class of control who received regular learning (PB). The instrument used is in the form of two sets of equivalent MPSA tests. Data analysis uses the t-test and Anava. The results of the research were: (1) an increase in the MPSA of RME students was higher than the increase in the MPSA of PB students for all students and all levels of the school; (2) the highest increase in MPSA for RME students occurs at level A schools; and (3) there is no interaction between learning at school level in increasing MPSA.

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pembelajaran ARIAS berbantuan kartu masalah pada siswa kelas XI materi barisan dan deret geometri dapat mencapai ketuntasan belajar, menganalisis apakah kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan pembelajar-an ARIAS berbantuan kartu masalah lebih baik dibanding ekspositori,menganalisis penga-ruh motivasi berprestasi terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis, serta menganalisis a-da tidaknya peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan pembelajaran ARIAS berbantuan kartu masalah dan ekspositori. Pengambilan data diperoleh dengan me-tode tes dan angket yang kemudian dianalisis dengan uji kemampuan komunikasi matema-tis berdasar KKM, uji perbedaan rata-rata, analisis regresi linier sederhana dan analisis ga-in. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis kelas eksperi-men telah mencapai ketuntasan belajar dan lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol, terdapat peng-aruh motivasi berprestasi terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis, serta peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis kelas eksperimen lebih besar dibanding ekspositori. Kata Kunci: ARIAS; Kartu Masalah; Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis; Motivasi Berprestasi.   AbstractThe purpose of this research was to analyze the ARIAS learning-assisted problem cards in class XI material geometric sequence and series can achieve mastery learning, analyzing whether mathematical communication skills of students with learning problems ARIAS assisted problem cards better than expository, analyzing the effect of achievement motivation on mathematical communication skills , as well as to analyze whether there is an increase in student’s mathematical communication skills by the ARIAS learning-assisted problem cards and  expository. Data is collected obtained by tes method and questionnaire which is then analyzed by Communication Mathematical Skill test based on KKM, the average similary test, simple linear regression analyze and gain analyze. The results showed that the mathematical communication skills of experiment class has achieved mastering of learning and is better than the control class, there are an influence between achievement motivation and mathematical communication skills, and improving communication skills of experiment class bigger than expository.  Keywords:      ARIAS; Problem Cards; Mathematical Communication Skill; Achievement Motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) look for the highest and lowest values in number and algebraic material of Junior High School in East Lombok, (2) the percentage of errors made by students when answering math problems, and (3) the diagnosis of student?s misconception in doing number and algebra at Junior High School in East Lombok. This research is a quantitative- descriptive research. For the sampling technique, this study used purposive sampling. The test was conducted in five classes with 200 students as research participants. The sampling took into account the level of students? ability and school readiness. The sampling size is 361 students from five schools. The data were in the form of students? responses and those were analyzed using the Quest program. The results of this study are as follows. First, in terms of the difficulty index, 40 items (47%) are easy category items, 8% are medium category items, and 45% are difficult category items. Out of the 40 problems, 82% of the items have good difficulty index, while 18% are not good. Of the four alternative answers, 88% of the distractor is in a good category, and 12% are not good. Second, based on the students? answers, the percentage of error is 52 %. Third, based on the result of the analysis using the Quest program, of the tow materials, the biggest misconception is in number with the percentage of 68%. The dominant error is in the indicator representing fractions in various forms, with a percentage of 22%.

Abstract

The research problems were that the students civic learning achievement was not optimal, the scouts had not been running optimally, and there was a gap between the educational scouting with student achievement in class V of SD Negeri 1 Rajabasa Raya. This study aimed to determine the relationship between character education in scouting activity and academic achievement Civics at the fifth grade students. This study population were 118 students, with a sample of 30 students while the sampling technique used was proportional Stratified Sampling. Collecting data in this study was using the method of observation, interviews, and documentation, as well as data analysis was using Spearman rank correlation analysis. The calculations used r count ≥ 0.72 r table 0,363. Thus it can be concluded that there was a relationship between character education and academic achievement in of civics at the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Rajabasa Raya.Masalah penelitian ini adalah belum optimalnya prestasi belajar PKn siswa, kegiatan pramuka masih belum berjalan secara maksimal, dan terdapat kesenjangan antara pendidikan kepramukaan dengan prestasi belajar siswa kelas V. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pendidikan karakter dalam kepramukaan dengan prestasi belajar PKn siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 Rajabasa Raya. Populasi penelitian ini berjumlah 118 siswa, dengan sampel sebanyak 30 siswa sementara teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah Stratified Proporsional Sampling. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, serta analisis data menggunakan analisis korelasi spearman rank. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan rhitung 0,72 ≥ rtabel 0,363. Dengan demikian diambil kesimpulan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara pendidikan karakter dalam kepramukaan dengan prestasi belajar PKn siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 Rajabasa Raya.Kata kunci : pendidikan karakter dalam kepramukaan, prestasi belajar, PKn.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of activity and learning achievement and increase student achievement before and after implementation of cooperative learning model of make a match type. This research was a quantitative research. The population in this study were all sixth grade students of SD Negeri 3 Rulung Helok in the District of South Lampung Natar totaling 50 people. This research used design of one group pretest-posttest. Data activity was obtained from observations by the observer and techniques of data collection was using cognitive learning achievement using pretest-posttest scores. Based on these results we can conclude that there are positive influence between activity and student achievement by implementing cooperative learning model of make a match, and there is an increase in learning achievement between before and after implementation of cooperative learning model of make a match.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aktivitas dan prestasi belajar serta peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa antara sebelum dan sesudah penerapan model cooperative learning tipe make a match. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian Kuantitatif. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VI SD Negeri 3 Rulung Helok di Kecamatan Natar Lampung Selatan yang berjumlah 50 orang. Penelitian ini mengunakan desain one group pretest-posttest. Data aktivitas diperoleh dari hasil pengamatan oleh observer dan teknik pengumpulan data prestasi belajar ranah kognitif menggunakan skor pretest-posttest. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pengujian hipotesis maka disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang positif antara aktivitas dan prestasi belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model cooperative learning tipe make a match, dan terdapat peningkatan prestasi belajar antara sebelum dan sesudah penerapan model cooperative learning tipe make a match.Kata kunci: aktivitas, prestasi belajar IPS, make a match

Abstract

The  paper  presents  the  surface  treatment  of  fly  ashes  using  acid  and  alkali  solution  on  the  tensile  strength  of  the  fly ash/unsaturated  polyester  (UP)  composites.  Sulfuric  acid  (H2SO4),  hydrofluoric  acid  (HF)  and  sodium  hydroxide (NaOH) solution with concentration of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% (by weight) were used for surface treatment of fly ashes. Generally, the tensile strength of the treated fly-ash/UP composites shows a significant increase compared to the untreated  fly  ash.  Of  all  surface  treatments  studied,  the optimum  tensile  strength  was  obtained  at  a  concentration  of 10%.  At  this  concentration,  at  a  fly  ash  content  of  30%  (weight),  the  surface  treatment  using  NaOH  gave  the  highest tensile strength, approximately 18.69 MPa, or increased about 91% compared to the untreated fly ash. The morphology of fracture surfaces were evaluated using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The fracture surfaces of the treated fly ash composite were rougher than that of the untreated fly ash indicating the improvement of the fly ashes-UP interaction.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses pembelajaran matematika pada anak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK) slow learner di kelas inklusif SMP Negeri 7 Salatiga dalam mencapai keberhasilan belajar. Data penelitian ini adalah mengenai proses pembelajaran matemetika pada anak berkebutuhan khusus slow learner di kelas inklusif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data meliputi pengumpulan data,reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh hasil : (1) Guru mata pelajaran matematika sudah memahami karakterstik siswa slow learner secara umum. Tidak Terdapat perbedaan dalam Rencana Pelaksanan Pembelajaran (RPP) namun perencanaan tetap memperhatikan karakteristik siswa slow learner.(2) Dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran guru melakukan pengkondisian dengan mempersiapkan siswa secara fisik dan psikis. Penggunaan model, metode, media pembelajaran disamakan antara siswa reguler dan slow learner. Dalam pelaksanaan ada metode yang sudah dapat mengakomodir siswa reguler dan siswa slow learner, namun masih ada metode yang membuat siswa slow learner semakin mengalami kesulitan dalam belajar.(3) Kegiatan evaluasi dilakukan ketika satu materi bahasan selesai dan dilakukan denga tes tertulis maupun tes lisan. Hasil evaluasi digunakan sebagai acuan kegiatan tidak lanjut yang dilaksanakan di bimbingan khusus oleh Guru Pendamping Khusus (GPK).This study intends to unveil how mathematics-learning process in disabilities of slow learners in inclusive class of SMP Negeri 7 Salatiga achieves the learning goals. The data of this study is related to mathematics-learning process in disabilities of slow learners in inclusive class. This study employs qualitative method. The techniques of collecting the data are observation, interview, and documentation. The techniques of analysis vary on collecting the data, reducing the data, presenting the data, drawing conclusions and verification. According to the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that: (1) Mathematics teachers have known about the characteristics of slow-learners in general. There are no differences in the lesson plan (RPP), but the planning still considers the characteristics of slow learners in general. (2) During the learning process, teacher arranges the students by preparing them physically and mentally. The use of model, method, and learning media of regular students is equaled to the slow learners’. In the learning process, there are methods accommodating both regular students and the slow learners. However, there are some methods causing learning problems on slow learners. (3) The evaluation is carried out when a material has already finished, and it is done in written and spoken form. The evaluation results are then used as a reference of follow-up activities conducted with a particular help from guidance-specialized teacher (GPK)

Abstract

Kerentanan (Vuinerability) adalah keadaan atau kondisi yang dapat mengurangi kemampuan masyarakat untuk mempersiapkan diri menghadapi bahaya atau ancaman bencana. Logika Fuzzy adalah cara untuk memetakan suatu ke dalam suatu ruang output. Salah satu aplikasi logika Fuzzy adalah untuk menentukan kerentanan daerah banjir di Semarang Utara. Pengujian dilakukan dengan metode Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System. secara manual dan program menggunakan 5 defuzifikasi, yaitu Centroid, SOM (Smallest Of Maximum), LOM (Large Of Maximum), MOM (Mean Of Maximum), Bisector. Dari 2 contoh kasus diperoleh hasil pengujian dengan kesimpulan yang sama.
