Abstract

The low of listen ability in children aged 5-6 years is the background of this action research, so this research aims to improve these abilities. One method that has proven to be effective solve that problem is the method of storytelling with a big book. Data on classroom action research was collected using observation techniques and analyzed in quantitative descriptive. This study involved ten students as participants. The result of the study showed that storytelling with a big book can improve the listening skill of 5-6 years old children in PAUD Bintang Mutiara, Pekanbaru. Before applying storytelling method with big book, the participants’ listening skill was categorized as ‘has not been developed”. After applying the storytelling method with big book, their listening skill was categorized as “Developed as expected” with a score of 71.67%. The improvement of participants’ listening skill from ‘pre-cycle’ to ‘cycle 1’ was 21%. From cycle I to cycle II, their listening skill was improved by 64%. From pre-cycle to cycle II, the improvement was 89%. Overall, the improvement of listening skills was 75.56%.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the prosocial behavior of prospective Counselors or Guidance and Counseling Students at PGRI Madiun University (UNIPMA). Prosocial behavior is an important component that must be embedded in the counselor. However, based on the results of preliminary studies, the facts in the field show that the prosocial behavior of UNIPMA students is still relatively low, marked as much as 65% of the total active Guidance and Counseling Study Program Students the level of prosocial behavior is still low. Responding to this problem, there need to be concrete steps to overcome it. One of the strategies that researchers try to offer is to provide reality group counseling to improve student prosocial behavior. This research uses a quantitative approach, with quasi pre-test and post-test design experiments. The results of hypothesis testing found that reality group counseling was declared effective in improving student prosocial behavior. The results of this study have only been tested in a limited sample, so care needs to be taken in generalizing to a wider population.

Abstract

Saat ini Teknologi, Informasi, dan Komunikasi (TIK) menjadi faktor penting kemajuan suatu wilayah. Untuk mengukur potensi pembangunan TIK dan kesenjangan digital antarwilayah, perlu dilakukan pengelompokan. Penelitian ini menerapkan datamining menggunakan metode clustering dengan algoritma  k-means. Sumber data diperoleh dari Badan Pusat Statistik menggunakan data Indeks Pembangunan Teknologi, Informasi, dan Komunikasi (IP-TIK) berdasarkan provinsi di Indonesia tahun 2019. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengklasifikasikan wilayah berdasarkan Indeks Pembangunan TIK ke dalam 3 cluster. Berdasarkan hasil analisis k-means diperoleh tingkat IP-TIK rendah (C1) terdiri atas 4 provinsi yaitu Nusa Tenggara Timur, Sulawesi Barat, Maluku Utara, dan Papua, cluster sedang (C2) terdiri atas 22 Provinsi dan cluster tinggi (C3) terdiri atas 8 Provinsi yaitu Kepulauan Riau, DKI Jakarta, Jawa Barat, DI Yogyakarta, Banten, Bali, Kalimantan Timur dan Kalimantan Utara. Dengan melakukan cluster Indeks Pembangunan TIK dapat memberikan gambaran wilayah-wilayah yang masih memerlukan perbaikan sehingga terjadi pemerataan pembangunan TIK di setiap provinsi di Indonesia.Keywords— Data Mining, Indeks Pembangunan Teknologi, Informasi dan Komunikasi (IP-TIK), K-Means

Abstract

Data International Labour Organitation (ILO) setiap tahun sebanyak dua juta pekerja meninggal dunia karena kecelakaan kerja yang disebabkan oleh faktor kelelahan. Faktor lain yang mempengaruhi kelelahan kerja adalah faktor individu, salah satunya yaitu status gizi. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan status gizi dengan produktivitas kerja pada karyawan di PT. Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Kota Makassar Tahun 2021. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain cross sectional study. Sampel peneliti sebanyak 41 orang. Data diambil dengan menggunakan kuesioner selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji chi-square pada tingkat kepercayaan 95% (α=0,05). Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh ada hubungan antara status gizi dengan produktivitas kerja (p = 0,014). Adapun kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adanya hubungan antara status gizi dengan produktivitas kerja pada karyawan. Diharapkan peneliti selanjutnya untuk lebih dapat menganalisa secara mendalam mengenai hubungan status gizi dengan produktivitas kerja pada karyawan serta perusahaan sebaiknya lebih memperhatikan status gizi karyawan dengan menyiapkan makanan yang memenuhi asupan status gizi karyawan.

Abstract

                                                                                    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penggunaan strategi Contextual Teaching and Learning terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian experimental dengan populasi siswa kelas VIII di SMPN 31 Padang. Sedangkan, sampel dari penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII.8 sebagai kelas experimental yang dipilih menggunakan Cluster sampling Technique. Dalam mengumpulkan data, peneliti melakukan sebuah kegiatan belajar mengajar selama 8 kali pertemuan. Peneliti memberikan pretest dan posttest kepada siswa dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan menulis siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan khusus. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penggunaan strategi Contextual Teaching and Learning memberikan hasil yang signifikan terhadap pencapaian siswa dalam menulis.This research is aimed at finding the effect of using Contextual Teaching and Learning Strategy toward students’ ability in writing. It was an experimental research. The population of this research was students at SMPN 31 Padang, Class VIII. The sample was chosen by using cluster sampling technique. In collecting the data, the researcher used treatment in teaching as long as eight meetings. The researcher gave prestest and posttest to the students in order to know students’ improvement in writing after giving treatment. The result of this research showed that Contextual Teaching and Learning Strategy gave significant effect toward students’ writing ability.Key words: effect, Contextual Teaching and Learning Strategy, students’ writing

Abstract

This study aims to describe the lecturers' perception of the Basic Reading textbook used in the Basic Reading Course. This study used a qualitative approach with a total of 2 respondents. The data collection technique used semi-structured interviews with 2 English Education Study Program lecturers at STKIP PGRI Sumatera Barat. The results of this study explained that lecturers' perception toward Basic Reading textbook was based on four main components of the Basic Reading textbook, namely: content, vocabulary and grammar, exercises and activities and as well as the attractiveness and physical make up of the textbook. The lecturers' perception of the content of the textbook was very helpful for students in understanding learning. Regarding vocabulary and grammar in the Basic Reading textbook, according to the lecturer who used the Basic Reading textbook, the used of vocabulary and grammar was easy to understand and in accordance with student abilities. The activities used have an effect on students in implementing character education in the learning process. Exercises also required students to think critically. The attractiveness and physical make up of the textbook showed that the textbook cover and pictures on the textbook were very attractive to students because the textbook components are based on Multimodality. Multimodality is a combination of elements such as visual design, pictures, writing variations, layout, utterance, diagrams and tables and more.
