Abstract

The research aims at developing a learning model of adaptive physical activities(APA) for improving basic movements and health of mentally disabled students ina disabled elementary school at Bantul regency; therefore it is a research and development. There are 5 steps used by the researcher : a preliminary study, planning, expert validation, empirical validation and effectiveness testing. The small scale implementationtesting was done to 13 disabled students whereas the large scale, 42students of 3 graders of disabled elementary school. The effectiveness testing usesan experimental research within one pre and post test group. The group consists of27students of Plered Disabled Elementary School. The research observation instrumentuses Likert scale and ratting-scale. The proposed learning models are: KidKomodo football, waves in the sea, knowing shapes, frog circus and air bubble. These models prove effective for mentally students of disabled elementary school. Both the small scale implementation testing and the large scale one result in theimprovement of basic physical movements of the students. The secondary result isthat teachers of physical education and health find the models easy to do and thestudents get fun being taught using them.

Abstract

Indikator ketertarikan memperbanyak waktu belajar fisika sebesar 50.5% berkategori baik. The purpose of this study was to find out how the attitudes of students towards high school physics subjects in Jambi Province, as well as obstacles or problems faced by students. This type of research is quantitative qualitative which uses research procedures, namely survey research design. This study involved 220 high school students in Jambi Province. The instrument used was a questionnaire with data analysis techniques, namely descriptive statistics for quantitative data using descriptive statistics. The results of the 3 indicators discussed in this paper are indicators of adoption of scientific attitudes, namely 47.3% of students are categorized quite well. Indicators of pleasure in learning physics as much as 44.1% are categorized quite good. Indicator of interest in increasing physics learning time by 50.5% in good category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to set adapted physical learning model for optimize mental retarded brain. This objectives achieved in two stages, for two years.Research and Development approach are applied in this research in two stages. Phase I conducted literature review and field observations. Data that obtained in this phase are analyzed and are used to set a draf of adapted physical learning model to optimize mental retarded brain. The result of Phase I (2009) includes the literature review about the characteristics of mental retarded children, the motion effects on the brain, gestures to the brain. Field observation that carried out in this phase obtain that motor skill of mental retarded child are good running, lack of balance, less category in cognitive abilities. The ability to read, write, and arithmetic are in moderate category. Affective abilities in self-control is in moderate category, but the empathy and cooperation into well category. Psychomotor ability to perform activities of daily life in the good category. The model of motion exercises and songs combined with circuit activities to optimize the mental retarded brain. The entire 40-minute duration of learning, with 9 minutes of the first and last songs of the motion and shape of gymnastics and the remaining circuit events consisting of 6 stations that include trampoline, crawling, climbing beam bridges, rolling over, facedown on the medicine ball, and crawling in the aisle
