Abstract

The subject matter of this research deals with the poor quality of land certification service and poor communication and working motivation of government employees at the Land Office ofSouth Jakarta Municipality. Another finding found was that communication would produce greater impacts with support of conducive transparency/openness through systematically institutionalized organizations so that availability, sufficiency and sustainability of communicators, messages, media and  disturbance to process can be ensured and realized. Effects of Communication and Working Motivation of Government Employees on the Quality of Land Certification Service at the Land Office of South Jakarta Municipality. Working motivation will increase if it goes along with the application of the principles of integrated interest handling, that is if the organization’s interest is commensurate with the interest of management and personnel.

Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to investigate the factors influencing the labor supply on the non-agricultural activities and the of income from non-agricultural activities to the structure and distribution of farmer household income.To reach the goals, three models are developed. The first and second models are labor supply models of husband and wife, respectively. For both models, the dependent variables are labor supplies proxied by work-hours of non-agricultural activities per year. While the independent variables for both models are area of land used, wage level in non-agricultural, age, number of household member with age above and below 5 years, number of working household members, and location of the household. The third model is a model with contribution of non-agricultural income as its dependent variable, while its independent variable is area of land used. The data source for this research istaken from a primary survey, while the secondary data gathered BPS in Gunung Kidul.The study shows that husband labor supply on non-agricultural activities is affected by the area of land used, wage level, education level, number of household members, and household location. But, education level and number of working household members are not giving significant influence to husband labor supply on non agricultural sectors. Furthermore, wife labor supply is influenced by the area of land used, wage level, age, education level, number of household members with age below 5 years, and household location. In the contrary, number of household members of age over 5 years and number of working household members aren ´t seem to have significant effect on wife labor supply model on non agricultural activities.

Abstract

The Perpouse of this research is to identify of Return on Investment (ROI), Current Ratio (CR), Earning Per Share (EPS) Debt to Total Assets (DTA) and Cash Ratio (CRo) that influence Cash Dividend.Population in this research is all peripatetic company LQ-45 which enlist in Effect Exchange Indonesia (BEI) Year 2007-2010. Technique intake of sampel use technique of purposive sampling. Technique analysis sampel the used is linier regression.Research result indicte that Return on Investment (ROI), Current Ratio (CR), Earning Per Share (EPS) have an effect positive and significant to Cash Dividend. Abstract

This research was conducted to determine whether the mechanisms of good corporate governance can effect the level of disclosure information in the annual reports on manufacturing companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange.The population used in the research is a manufacturing company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange with the 2009-2011 research period. For research purposes in the selection of the sample using purposive sampling method to obtain 153 sample companies that fit the criteria. Processing and data analysis in thisresearch using multiple linear regression.The results of research indicate that Corporate Governance mechanisms affect the level of disclosure in the annual report. While partially just managerial ownership,concentration ownership, auditcommittees and company size significantly influence the level of disclosure in the annual report. Other independent variables such as institutional ownership, the proportion of independent directors has no effect on the level of disclosure in the annual report.Keywords: Disclosure, Corporate Governance Mechanisms, Manufacturing, Annual Reports

Abstract

Fiber attenuation caused by chromatic dispersion and modal dispersion is commonlyreferred to as a dispersion power penalty. In the wave transmitted by transmitter, dispersionoccurred, caused degradation of signal quality, so that the signal receiver is not as good aswhich is being transmitted. In this paper will be discussed about the impact of dispersionpower penalty in ring-1 STO Gatot Subroto area. Analysis was done to several factors thatcan cause dispersion power penalty, which are distance, wavelength, and data rate beingused. The calculation with available data and specification has been done, so that the routeswith the biggest and the smallest dispersion power penalty can be detected. The biggestdispersion power penalty happened in Palma Citra – Umawar route at distance of 9.387 kmwith  =1550 nm and data rate 622.08 Mbps. While the smallest was 1.221 7 10  dB,happened in Tifa – STO Gatot Subroto route at distance of 1.626 km with =1310 nm anddata rate 155.52 Mbps. All those calculations were still in permissible limit, not more than 2dB. Furthermore from some routes were obtained very small dispersion power penalty. Thebigger the fiber length and data rate, the bigger the dispersion power penalty is. Finally itcan be concluded that fiber length, wavelength, and data rate are equivalent to thedispersion power penalty.Keyword: fiber optic, dispersion, Synchronous Digital Hierarchy

Abstract

Attenuation in an Optical Communication Link always causes the transmitted signal powerbecome as lower as the length of the fiber become longer. For a long distancecommunication link like submarine cable needs a repeater to amplify the optical signalpower that transmitted in the fiber. The most popular repeater in long distancecommunication link is Optical Repeater with its Optical Amplifier. This paper is anintroduction of an Optical Amplifier. The most important part of an optical amplifier is theActive Medium. The active medium of an amplifier normally consist of 10 to 30 m length ofoptical fiber that has been slightly doped (e.g., 1000 ppm weight) with a rare earth elementsuch as erbium (Er) for 1550 nm wavelength and Praseodymium (Pd) for 1300 nmwavelength, and the host fiber material can be either standard silica, fluorite-based glass ormulti-component glass. The optical amplifier that consists of fiber doped with Erbium iscalled EDFA (ERBIUM DOPED FIBER AMPLIFIER). The simplified energy levelconcept of an EDFA and its basic operation how the photon signal could be amplified whencome through the active medium is simply introduced. Abstract

Price Book Value (PBV) is a ratio used to quantity financial performance at a company. PBV also describe how big the market appreciate the book value of a stock. The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of return on equity (ROE), price book value (PER), debt to equity ratio (DER) toward price book value (PBV) wich is a quantity of the company value. The population this research is LQ-45 companies on 2010-2012 which on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX). The sampling technique is using purposive sampling and obtain the sample of 101 companies. Company data subsequently tested with normality, multicollinearity, autocorrelation and heterokedastisity. Subsequent researchers used multiple regression to determine the relation between those variable. The results showed return on equity, price earning ratio, and debt to equity ratio significantly influence price book value with the adjustment R2of 24,20% . while individually, return on equity and price earning ratio significantly and positive influence torward price book value, while debt to equity ratio is not influence toward price book value. Abstract

Price Earning Ratio (PER) is a part of the rasio market that determines how the market give value or price in a company. The ability gainful an entreprise in make one of the main  considerations most investors to invest. This research is aimed to test about  the Influence of Return on Assets, Return on Equity, and Net Profit Margin againts price earning ratio on companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) 2010-2012. Collection data uses the method purposive sampling againtst severalmanufacturing companies listed on the  Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2010 – 2012. There are 228 companies that using as a sample. Analysis data that the use is  linear regression of multiple test assumption classical consist of test  normality, multicollinearity, autocorrelation test, test heterokedastisitas, coefficient determination , F test, and statistic test T. The results showed that the  Return on Assets influences positif and it’s not significant for Price Earning Ratio, Return on Equity influences significant positive to Price Earning Ratio, and Net Profit Margin influences significant positive to  Price Earning Ratio. Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah peningkatan kekerasan aktual dan simbolis pada wanita.Tujuan penelitian ini menggambarkan kekerasan personal dan struktural pada perempuan dalam programtelevisi anak-anak seperti Ronaldowati, Jagoan Si Pitung, Ben7 dan Baim Anak Sholeh. Teoristrukturasi gender sebagai turunan dari pendekatan media politik ekonomi pada paradigma kritisdigunakan untuk menganalisis fenomena ini. Teori tersebut mencoba menjelaskan proses produksi danreproduksi hubungan gender dalam masyarakat melalui optimalisasi aturan dan sumber daya yangdiduduki oleh aktor laki-laki dan perempuan dalam interaksi sosial. Aktor dinegosiasikan dalam skemainterpretatif, yang melibatkan interaksi aturan dan berbagai fasilitas yang ada . Dalam negosiasi, aktorlaki-laki memiliki posisi sosial yang lebih unggul dari aktor perempuan. Pengaruh situasi tersebutmenciptakan sebuah relasi gender asimetris dalam masyarakat.Aktor laki-laki mengalahkan aktorperempuan dalam setiap lembaga-lembaga sosial. Media adalah salah satu lembaga dimana keunggulanaktor laki-laki dimuliakan.Aktor perempuan tidak bisa memberdayakan posisi mereka untuk mengatasistruktur laki-laki dalam industri media. Analisis wacana kritis telah diterapkan untuk membingkai studiini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya kekerasan struktural pada perempuan terkait stereotip gender.Tulisan ini direkomendasikan untuk menghasilkan program yang menggambarkan peran gendersecara berimbang.

Abstract

In the clinical study researchers want to answer the most important question whether a new therapy is better than the old one. Many researchers continue to frame the question in terms of null hypothesis and answer the question in terms of P value. The null hypothesis itself is typically not plausible, and even in a study where the null hypothesis was plausible, our concern is typically not only limited to the issue of whether or not the treatment has any effect but we also want to know how much the impact. In the study which the researcher pressed the P value into service as an indicator of effect size, it, lends itself to misinterpretation because it combines information about the magnitude of an effect with information about the precision with which that effect is estimated. By contrast, confidence intervals (Cis) focus ones attention on an estimate of a more meaningful parameter (e.g. the rate difference) and, as a separate matter, on the precision of the estimate. The CI is a range of values that is likely to cover the true but unknown value (the extremely low up to the extremely high value of e.g. rate difference, mean difference, and Odds Ratio) if we measure the value many times on samples using the same method. Cis in a clinical trial where the result is statistically significant we might find that it is of no clinically Importance (in a very large sample). On the other hand, the effect of a treatment might be statistically not significant but In fact it is of clinical importance (in a small sample). Cl Is affected by sample size: the larger the sample size the narrower the interval of Cl. The interval Is also affected by the standard error and hence by standard deviation and the confidence level we claim. The higher the confidence level (90%, 95% or 99%, arbitrarily 95% Cl is commonly used) the wider the confidence interval. In case that the 95% Cl does not include zero value (in mean or proportion difference) or one (in Odds ratio or relative risk) it also reflects statistical significance (p<0.05) with a = 5%. A sample size that is enough in terms of power might not be enough in terms of precision due to the confidence Interval level we choose.Key Words : P value - confidence interval - clinical importance - sample size - statistical significant
