Abstract

The Book of Job is always related to the question why pious people endure misery. This writing tries to dig the other message of the Book of Job that is friendship. Thence, the question that would be answered in this writing is what the meaning of friends according to the Book of Job. Through narrative analyses, this writing tries to present Job’s friends which construct the whole story in the Book through their dialogs. Starting from the recognition of Satan in the Book of Job as “enemy” or “the accuser”, this writing comes to a conclusion that eventually Job’s wife and friends take the function and roles of Satan as Job’s enemy.

Abstract

Manusia, sampai saat ini, tercatat sebagai makhluk yang paling maju dibanding dengan makhluk-makhluk ciptaan lain. Kitab Kejadian memberikan bukti bahwa manusia merupakan mahkota dari kisah penciptaan yang dilakukan oleh Allah. Sejak awal mula, manusia dengan segala kebebasannya mudah jatuh dalam iming-imingan, sebagai contoh tawaran untuk menjadi seperti Allah. Sekali lagi, Kitab Kejadian, terutama Kej. 3:4-5, menyediakan bagi kita buktinya. Siapa kiranya manusia, termasuk kita, yang tidak tergiur oleh tawaran semacam itu? Fenomena ini jamak kita jumpai di zaman kita juga. Banyak produk, termasuk teologi, yang menawarkan kesehatan, umur panjang, kemakmuran, dll.

Abstract

The phrase “history always repeats itself” seems to be appropriate to describe the events that occur in this era. Starting from this jargon, the author tries to trace the history of the Israelites, especially the histories that describe the times when they experienced a crisis in their lives. There are several points of crisis that the people of Israel experienced and amazingly they were able to get out of every crisis in their life. Behind all these, there is a God who is always with them as He promised to the ancestors of Israel and their descendants.

Abstract

The focus of the study discussed is the work of God's salvation in a historical framework. In the context of the Old Testament, all events, both wars and trials faced by the Israelites, were God's plans that had been prepared. The historical God is present in the form of justice which ultimately provides salvation for mankind. The writing of this scientific paper uses the method of critical analysis with reflection and relevance through the correspondence truth test. The purpose of writing this article is to take a deeper look at how great and extraordinary the works of God's salvation were in the history of the people of Israel. Furthermore, it is also explained how God makes various efforts so that His chosen people are always directed to Him, things that make the Israelites fall into sin and come to a reflection on God's loving works of salvation in forgiving people's sins. This article outlines how deep God's love for the Israelites is in the life history of God's chosen nation. The benefit of writing this article is to reflect more deeply that God's love is so real in human life.

Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan buah usaha penulis untuk menggali inspirasi dari tujuh Gereja dalam Kitab Wahyu bab 2 dan 3 bagi karya misi saat ini. Tantangan yang luar biasa dari ketujuh gereja sebagaimana diceritakan dalam surat Rasul Yohanes kepada para pengikut Kristus pada masa itu mendorong penulis untuk mendekati Why. 2-3 dari konteks historis. Dari penelusuran yang penulis lakukan ditemukan bahwa pemahaman yang baik mengenai konteks historis dari Kitab Wahyu membantu pembaca untuk mengerti kesulitan-kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh para pengikut Kristus pada abad I M sekaligus menjawabi pertanyaan mengapa Kitab Wahyu ditulis dengan memakai bahasa-bahasa simbolis dan bersifat enigmatis sehingga kitab ini sulit untuk dimengerti.
