Abstract

Abstract Based on interviews with one of the SMAN 1 Sampit physics teachers, teaching materials used are still less related to the surrounding environment, while the 2013 curriculum requires contextual learning so that learning is more meaningful. Central Kalimantan has a variety of local wisdom, one of which is traditional games. Basic knowledge of traditional Central Kalimantan traditional games, has never been associated with physics learning. Based on this problem, the development of a local wisdom-based module is needed. This development research using Nieveen's development model consists of three stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping stage, and assessment stage, the purpose of this study is to describe student learning outcomes after using local wisdom-based physics modules. Field trials were conducted in class X MIPA B SMAN 1 Sampit with a total of 33 students. Student learning outcomes consisted of pretest and posttest scores, the average pretest score was 23.64 and the posttest was 72.67, with an average difference of 49.03. Learning outcomes analyzed using N-gain got the medium criteria with a result of 0.65%. Physics Module based on traditional game of Central Kalimantan can improve student learning outcomes and is suitable for use in physics learning material momentum and impulses. Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to describe the communication skills by using model Problem-Based Learning (PBL). The sample was 32 VII-A grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Jember. The method of data collection is the observation and portfolio-assessment student participant worksheet. The observation checklist includes all indicators that the ability to communicate any questions or comments, work in teams, and clarity of voice during a presentation or presenting the results of the discussion. Data processing conducted through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that oral communication skills of students grade VII A has excellent communication skills. Oral communication skills aspects work together in groups has risen 87.5% in the excellent category, aspects of any questions students also increased to 65.62% in both categories, and in the aspect of voice clarity has increased, although still within the category that is good enough 53.12%. Abstract

Abstract: The knowledge has always starts with asking. For teachers, asking questions is seen as an activity to encourage, guide, and assess students' thinking abilities. For students, asking questions is an important part of exploring information, informing what is known, and directing what is not yet known. The aim of this research is to determine the quantity and quality of students' asking ability based on revised Bloom's taxonomy by applying the problem based learning model to the material temperature and heat. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative method. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Jember with research respondents being all students of class VII F of the odd semester of the 2019/2020 school year. Data collection using observation sheets to ask students. Based on the data obtained, it shown that the quantity of students who ask questions is 37.63%. The quality of questions in this research is 100% in the low level but there are no questions classified as high level. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the asking ability of students of class VII F in SMP Negeri 2 Jember are relatively low and need to be improved. Abstract

Abstract The teaching and learning process of science, especially physics, will be meaningful if the teaching and learning process is appropriate with the nature of science, it means that learning physics is not only through the collection of facts, principles, laws, and theories, but also involves the process of knowledge is obtained. The learning process is beneficial in the skills of the students’ inquiry, such as increasing social interaction between the students, giving the students the opportunity to do activities directly, guiding the students to develop scientific vocabulary, encouraging the development of problem solving skills, helping cognitive growth, improving attitudes towards science, and helping the students to build mental images from new ideas. The type of research used is experimental research. The research design used nonequivalent control group design. In determining the place of research using the purposive sampling area method. The research was conducted in SMAN 1 Purwoharjo in the even semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. The competencies and indicators of inquiry skills that will be used are: (1) observation (2) investigation (3) exploration (4) skills to find something new. The analysis technique used the Independent Sample T-Test using the SPSS version 23 program, which is used to analyze the effect of the virtual laboratory assisted inquiry model on the skills of high school student inquiry. Based on the results of this research, it is known that the virtual laboratory inquiry model significantly have effects to the skills of high school students’ inquiry. Abstract

Abstract: This study was conducted to analyze inference skills of students on the material temperature and heat accompanied by application of guided inquiry learning model in SMP Negeri 2 Jember. This study uses classroom action research conducted in the first semester of the academic year 2019/2020. The subject of research is VII E grade from SMP Negeri 2 Jember include 30 people. Study period is 3 months from August to September 2019. In practice, this study apply 2 learning cycles, each cycle was conducted 4 stages: planning, implementation, monitoring/observation, and reflection. The data collection is done by using a essay test contained in the worksheet learners. Data collected from essay test then analyzed with qualitatively. Based on the analysis of the data obtained showed that the implementation of the learning cycle I, the results of students' mastery of inference skills by 69%, which means its not yet to reach the indicators set. In the second learning cycle results obtained completeness inference skills of students by 77% so that it has reached the specified indicators.The results showed inference skills of students in the material heat and temperature increased significantly after conducting guided inquiry learning model. Abstract

Abstract Scaffold-assisted student worksheets in the creative problem solving model are provided in groups, while also facilitating student scientific creativity. The purpose of this study was to examine the variation of scaffold-assisted worksheets in the creative problem solving model of the scientific creativity of high school students. The type of research used is quasi-experimental. The method used is purposive sampling area. The sample in the study was in class X MIPA 3 and X MIPA 4. The research design used was Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The data in this study are the results of post-tests conducted at the end of the study. To see whether there was a variation of scaffold-assisted worksheets in the creative problem solving model of creativity using an independent sample t-test with the help of SPSS 23. Post-test average results are 60.21. Then tested using the independent sample t-test test, in which there was an influence between the scaffold assisted in the creative problem solving model of the scientific creativity of high school students. Abstract

Scientific reasoning atau penalaran ilmiah merupakan suatu kemampuan untuk dapat membantu siswa menyelesaikan persoalan kognitif, mengenalkan kepada siswa mengenai ide yang berubah, serta alasan untuk perubahan ide tersebut. Penalaran ilmiah merupakan suatu keterampilan abad 21 yang sangat penting diajarkan di kelas sains sebagai upaya untuk mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi tantangan dunia yang berubah. Pembelajaran fisika di sekolah diharapkan dapat mengembangkan kemampuan bernalar siswa melalui hasil pengamatan terhadap fenomena alam yang ada serta dapat menunjukkan alasan yang tepat tentang mengapa dan bagaimana fenomena tersebut dapat terjadi. Data dari penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran ilmiah yang dimiliki oleh siswa masih rendah. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan keterampilan penalaran ilmiah adalah dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing. Namun, penerapan penalaran ilmiah yang kompleks dengan model pembelajaran inkuiri masih mengalami kesulitan terutama dalam hal melibatkan siswa dalam proses inkuiri. Sehingga peneliti menawarkan solusi dengan membuat LKS berbasis inkuiri dengan bantuan scaffloding konseptual. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif dan dilaksanakan di kelas XI MIPA di SMA. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKS berbasis inkuiri disertai scaffolding konseptual dapat digunakan untuk pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri sehingga diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan penalaran ilmiah fisika siswa SMA. Abstract

Model pembelajaran guided inquiry merupakan suatu kegiatan belajar mengajar yang melibatkan secara maksimal seluruh kemampuan siswa untuk mencari dan menyelidiki secara sistematis, kritis, logis, dan analitis, sehingga mereka dapat merumuskan sendiri penemuannya dengan penuh percaya diri. Fakta dilapangan dalam pembelajaran guided inquiry siswa masih merasa kesulitan dalam proses pembelajaran. Untuk mempermudah siswa dalam proses pembelajarannya maka disertai teknik peta konsep. Dimana teknik peta konsep dapat digunakan untuk mengungkapkan konsepsi, menyelidiki apa yang telah diketahui, menolong siswa mempelajari cara belajar, dan sebagai alat evaluasi. Adapun langkah-langkah pembelajaran guided inquiry yaitu mendapatkan perhatian dan menjelaskan proses inquiry, menyajikan permasalahan inquiry atau kejadian yang tidak sesuai, Meminta siswa merumuskan hipotesis untuk menjelaskan permasalahan atau kejadian, mendorong siswa untuk mengumpulkan data untuk menguji hipotesis, merumuskan penjelasan dan/atau kesimpulan, merefleksikan situasi bermasalah dan proses berpikir yang digunakan untuk menyelidiki. Dengan demikian, siswa dapat dengan memudah memahami materi kaitan konsep-konsep yang telah dipelajarinya.Kata kunci: model guided inquiry, pembelajaran fisika, peta konsep

Abstract

Kemampuan penjelasan ilmiah (scientific explanation) adalah suatu kemampuan dalam bernalar yang dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami ilmu pengetahuan dalam hal penyelidikan ilmiah. Terdapat tiga komponen penting yang harus ada dalam penjelasan ilmiah. Komponen tersebut diantaranya klaim, bukti, dan penalaran. Fakta di lapangan membuktikan bahwa siswa memiliki tingkat scientific explanation rendah, dibuktikan dalam menjawab soal penjelasan dimana siswa masih belum bisa memberikan suatu bukti nyata dalam fenomena alam yang memperkuat penjelasan. Siswa cenderung tidak jelas dalam menyampaikan kesimpulan yang telah didapatkan melalui proses penyelidikan. Sehingga perlu adanya suatu pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan scientific explanation siswa. Kemampuan scientific explanation ini dapat diterapkan melalui pembelajaran berbasis penyelidikan yakni Inkuiri. Pembelajaran inkuiri secara terstruktur adalah suatu model pembelajaran inkuiri dengan level terendah sehingga dapat mudah diterapkan terhadap siswa yang belum pernah diberikan model pembelajaran inkuiri. Model pembelajaran inkuiri terstruktur dapat melatih siswa untuk berpikir secara kritis dengan menemukan atau memecahkan sendiri tentang suatu permasalahan yang telah didapatkan dengan panduan guru. Pada penerapannya diperlukan suatu stimulus berupa LKPD sebagai sarana berlatih siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, hal tersebut diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan scientific explanation siswa. Implementasi model pembelajaran inkuiri terstruktur dapat meningkatkan kemampuan scientific explanation siswa.Kata Kunci: scientific explanation, inkuiri terstruktur, LKPD

Abstract

The ability to solve physics problems is one of the goals in learning physics and a part of the current curriculum demands. One of the physics problems that are often the focus of attention in learning is Newtons law of motion. When solving physics problems on Newtons law of motion, students need to utilize various aspects of certain abilities and rules. The purpose of this study was to reveal how the students utilized aspects of the abilities and rules in problem-solving. The study was conducted by providing physics problems on Newtons law of motion to 105 high school students. The result showed that most students were able to write equations, solutions, and system of units correctly for each problem. However, students’ ability to determine the coordinate axes, depicts free-body diagrams, forces representation, and determine the resultant forces and direction of motion was unsatisfactory. Students tended to refer to the mathematical formulations in solving the problems. Therefore, physics learning that requires students to actively learn collaboratively, peer instruction, and procedural thinking can be used as an alternative learning strategy to overcome said problems.
