Abstract

Abstract

This paper considers a location problem in a supply chain network. The problem addressed in this paper is motivated by an initiative to develop an efficient supply chain network for supporting the agricultural activities. The supply chain network consists of regions, warehouses, distribution centers, plants, and markets. The products include a set of inbound products and a set of outbound products. In this paper, definitions of the inbound and outbound products are seen from the region’s point of view.  The inbound product is the product demanded by regions and produced by plants which flows on a sequence of the following entities: plants, distribution centers, warehouses, and regions. The outbound product is the product demanded by markets and produced by regions and it flows on a sequence of the following entities: regions, warehouses, and markets. The problem deals with determining locations of the warehouses and the distribution centers to be opened and shipment quantities associated with all links on the network that minimizes the total cost. The problem can be considered as a strategic supply chain network problem. A solution approach based on genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed. The proposed GA is examined using hypothetical instances and its results are compared to the solution obtained by solving the mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model. The comparison shows that there is a small gap (0.23%, on average) between the proposed GA and MILP model in terms of the total cost. The proposed GA consistently provides solutions with least total cost. In terms of total cost, based on the experiment, it is demonstrated that coefficients of variation are closed to 0.

Abstract

This paper discusses a variant of the basic vehicle routing problem (VRP) by including the following characteristics: fleet size and mix, multiple trips, split delivery, and multiple compartments. One of real cases of this problem is related to determining tanker?s routes in delivering fuel products from a supply port to a number of destination ports. Each tanker has several compartments where each compartment is dedicated to a certain fuel product. In this paper, a solution approach based on genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed and tested using nine hypothetical instances. Experiment results show that the proposed GA gives consistent results measured by coefficient variations

Abstract

AbstractVehicle routing problem (VRP) is one of decision problems having an important role in transportation and distribution activity in the logistic management. The VRP deals with determining vehicle routes that minimizes total distance by satisfying the following constraints: (1) each route starts and ends at the depot, (2) each vehicle serves only one route, (3) each costumer is served by one route, (4) all customers must be served, and (5) total load for each route does not exceed the vehicle capacity. In literature, this definition is the definition for the basic or classical VRP. This paper discusses an extension of the basic VRP including the following characteristics: (1)multiple trips (MT), (2) time windows (TW), and (3) simultaneous pickup-delivery (SPD). A solution method based on genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed to solve the VRP discussed in this papaer. The proposed GA is examined using some hypothetical instances.

Abstract

This paper discusses the train rescheduling problem due to disturbances. The train rescheduling problem discussed in this paper is taken from a real train network of DAOP II Bandung in Jawa, Indonesia. The train network consists of block sections including unidirectional double-tracks and bidirectional single-tracks. There are some connections among trains because they use same rolling stocks. A mixed integer linear programming model is formulated to represent the problem. Main decision variables of the model are new departure and arrival times due to the disturbance. The objective function to be minimized is the total weighted delay. The model is examined using a hypothetical instance for four disturbance cases. Numerical experiments show that the model can represent the problem under study

Abstract

Hajj pilgrimage cost (Biaya Penyelenggaraan Ibadah Haji/BPIH) requires around IDR 14 trillion every year. BPIH consists of direct and indirect costs, in which the largest cost component is the airfare reaching 86% of pilgrim deposits in 2019. This study shows that there is BPIH inefficiency that is caused by the disorganized appointment of the embarkation points and the division of flight groups that does not optimize aircraft capacity and airport capabilities. Through the operation research approach, this study models optimization BPIH by determining regional allocations of the pilgrims to embarkation points. The study aims to provide an alternative decision making for the Ministry of Religion in implementing an embarkation zoning policy so that BPIH becomes more efficient, transparent, and free from corruption.

Abstract

Despite the growing interest in investigating learners’ corpora, surprisingly little research has been conducted on the language use of L2 writers and its relation to the gender and genres in writing. Therefore, this study was aimed to find out the variation of language use in different genres or gender in weblogs, one of popular modes of computer-mediated communication (CMC). The study was done by conducting multivariate analysis using R program to weblog entries from a sample balanced of author gender (female or male) and weblog genre (diary or filter). Taking linguistic preferential features by Argamon et al (2003) and Pennebaker (2011) as dependent variables, the effect of genres or gender toward the use of the features was analyzed. The results showed that significant effects of several features can be considered as predictors. Personal pronouns and hedges (I think, and I believe) were found as predictors for diary; while the indefinite articles a/an and numbers were found as predictors for filter. As for the different language use by gender, female predictors were personal pronoun, verbs, negation, certainty words, and hedges. Meanwhile, the indefinite articles a/an, numbers, and preposition were the predictors of male writers.

Abstract

SokoTunggal Islamic Boarding School Semarang has a very important role as a place to nurture religious tolerance for its students. The need for religious tolerance education is urgent because various conflicts in Indonesia are sourced from inter-religious issues. Religious tolerance education in Soko Sole Boarding School aims at nurturing mental and morals of the students in order to become a person with ahlakul karimah showed by tolerance to differences in people’s lives, especially religious differences. The results suggest the pesantren sucesfully conducts such program because the background of the Kyai , who is very tolerant, and the vision, mission and purpose of boarding school to teach the value of tolerance. Religious tolerance value is fostered through the habituation of students in interaction with people of other religions, the example of Kyai, and through learning, especially the books of morals. The factors that asupport the development of tolerance in the boarding school include: the competence of management, and the high motivation of the students. While inhibiting factor is the caretaker and students who also have other jobs so they are not always able to follow the activities of the boarding school and the damage of some infrastructure.
