Abstract

This research was to know the increase of result learn and interest of learning mathematics at SMP IT Masjid Syuhada Kotabaru Yogyakarta, in Oktober-November 2011. Subject were collected amount to 17 people. The data collecting instruments included an assay test and interest questionnaire. The data were analyzed using analysis descriptive. The result of research indicated the approach of Think-Pair-Share can improve result learn and interest of learning mathematics at chapter one variable linear equation. Where average interest of learning mathematics of the students was indicated high with average 41,18. The result of learning increased from 68,71 to 79,76.

Abstract

This study aimed to get empirical evidence about the effectiveness of STAD and TPS cooperative learning on junior high school students’ achievement and interest in mathematics. This study was a quasi- experimental research design with completely randomized factorial design. Sample were seventh grade students from two schools in Kebumen. The research instruments consisted of tests and interest questionnaire which contains questions and statement to determine the effectiveness of the learning model on students’ achievement and interest. The results showed that there was significant difference in achievement for STADA class (p = 0.046), STADB (p = 0.000), TPSA (p = 0.000), and TPSA (p = 0.042). In terms of interest, STAD and TPS significantly differed (p = 0.001, p <0.005). Multivariate analysis results show that there was interaction between learning model with the type of school (p = 0.001, p <0.005). It can be concluded that STAD and  TPS cooperative learning  were effective from the aspect of students achievement and interest in mathematics. ABSTRAKPenelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  memperoleh  bukti  empiris  tentang  keefektifan  model  pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan TPS ditinjau dari aspek prestasi dan minat siswa SMP terhadap matematika. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain completely randomized factorial design. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII dari dua sekolah yang ada di Kabupaten Kebumen. Instrumen penelitian  terdiri  atas  tes dan  angket  minat  yang berisi  soal-soal  uraian  dan  item pernyataan  untuk mengetahui keefektifan model pembelajaran ditinjau dari aspek prestasi dan minat belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan prestasi yang signifikan untuk kelas STADA (p= 0,046), STADB (p= 0,000), TPSA (p= 0,000), dan TPSA (p= 0,042). Pada aspek minat, kelas STAD dan TPS juga berbeda signifikan (p=0,001,). Hasil analisis Multivariat menunjukkan bahwa terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran dengan jenis sekolah  (p=0,001). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan tipe TPS efektif ditinjau dari aspek prestasi maupun minat siswa terhadap matematika.

Abstract

The development of an increasingly advanced technology is one of the causes for cultural values to fade and be marginalized. Therefore, exploration of culture is needed to support the sustainability of mathematics learning. this study aims to explore the mathematical concepts found in Riau Malay specialties and their application in mathematics learning. this research is a qualitative study using an ethnographic approach. The instrument used are human instrument. The researcher communicates directly with the object of research and participate actively in data collection, either by means of literature study, interview, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique was carried out by means of data reduction, presentation, analysis, and data exposure. The results of this study are in the form of mathematical concepts found in Riau Malay specialties, namely: point, line, bowstring, triangle, rectangle, regular, octagon, circle, rectangular pyramid, beam, and congruence. Mathematical concepts found in Riau Malay specialties can be used to introduce and understand mathematical concepts in learning through local wisdom.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil validitas dan kepraktisan produk hasil pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis game edukasi dengan construct 2. Media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan merupakan media pembelajaran interaktif sehingga dapat meningkatkan antusias peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Media pembelajaran ini bisa digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran tatap muka maupun pembelajaran daring selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang mengacu pada model ADDIE, yang terdiri dari 5 tahap yaitu Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, dan Evaluate. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu lembar angket validasi, angket respon guru dan angket respon peserta didik. Pengumpulan data menggunakan skala likert. Objek penelitian ini berupa media pembelajaran dengan construct 2 pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar kelas VIII Sekolah Menengah Pertama atau Sederajat. Media diuji cobakan kepada 25 peserta didik kelas VIII di SMP Babussalam Pekanbaru. Data validasi dan data kepraktisan yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan cara menentukan nilai rata-rata setiap instrumen. Rata-rata nilai validasi yang diperoleh yaitu 91,86% dengan kategori sangat valid. Rata-rata nilai angket respon guru yaitu 100% dengan kategori sangat praktis dan nilai rata-rata angket respon peserta didik adalah 84,27% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis game edukasi dengan construct 2 teruji kevalidan dan kepraktisannya.

Abstract

This study aims to produce learning media using Macromedia Flash 8 on the curved side of solid figure material for class IX. This development model uses the model R & D, which has been modified according to the needs of the researcher into (1) problems and potential; (2) data collection; (3) product design; (4) validation design; (5) revision design; (6) product trial; (7) final production. The data collection technique used is a non-test technique in the form of a questionnaire. Data collection instrument utilized was a validation instrument in the form of a validation sheet, and a practical instrument in the form of a student response questionnaire sheet. The data analysis technique used is validation data analysis and practicality data of learning media. The results of the analysis of research validation by three validators obtained an average validation of learning media using a Likert scale of 88.56% which was included in the very valid category and the results of the questionnaire analysis of student responses by 12 students to learning media obtained an average of 86,73% is included in the very practical category. The conclusion of the study shows that learning media using Macromedia Flash 8 on the curved side of solid figure material has been tested to be very valid and very practical.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan akar pangkat persamaan kompleks berdasarkan tingkat kemampuan akademik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif  kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester 6 tahun ajaran 2016/2017 program studi pendidikan Matematika Universitas Islam Riau  sebanyak 132 orang. Objek penelitian adalah kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis mahasiswa pada mata kuliah analisis kompleks. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan cara mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis mahasiswa berdasarkan tingkat kemampuan akademik rendah, sedang dan tinggi pada masing-masing indikator yang telah didefinisikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cara berpikir kreatif matematis mahasiswa yang berkemampuan akademik tinggi sudah mampu mengidentifikasi penyelesaian soal pada semua indikator. Mahasiswa yang berkemampuan akademik sedang sudah mampu mengidentifikasi penyelesaian soal pada indikator fluency dan elaboration, sedangkan pada indikator flexibility dan originality masih banyak jawaban yang relatif sama. Sedangkan pada mahasiswa berkemampuan akademik rendah baru mampu mengidentifikasi sebatas pengetahuan pada indikator originality dan elaboration, sedangkan pada indikator fluency dan flexibility belum ada yang benar. Students’ Mathematical Creative Thinking Ability in Solving Complex Roots of Equations Based on The Level of Academic Ability AbstractThis study aims to describe the ability of students' mathematical creative thinking in solving the complex roots of equation based on the level of academic ability. The study was descriptive qualitative research. The subjects were students of 6th semester in the academic year of 2016/2017 Department of Mathematics Education, Islamic University of Riau as many as 132 people. The objectives of this research were the ability of students' mathematical creative thinking in complex analysis courses. The data were analyzed by describing students' mathematical creative thinking ability based on low, medium and high academic ability level on each defined indicator. The results of this study show that the mathematical creative thinking of students with high academic ability has found been able to solve questions in all indicators. Furthermore, students who are in the medium ability have found already able to solve problems on indicators of fluency and elaboration, whereas in the indicator of flexibility and originality there are still many relatively similar answers. Besides, the students with low academic ability are able to identify only in the level of knowledge on originality and elaboration indicator, whereas the fluency and flexibility indicator are not yet correct.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the results of research by mathematics education students who have integrated ICT in the design of mathematics learning. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive. The data collection technique used is document observation in the form of a study of student research documents in the form of a thesis. The data used in this study is the result of the thesis research of UIR mathematics education students for the last five years (2016-2020). This study uses qualitative data analysis techniques, namely: (1) data collection; (2) data reduction; (3) data presentation; (4) raising the conclusion; and (5) data presentation. This research is focused on three aspects, namely: (1) the type of research; (2) types of learning; and (3) the type of media used. The results of this study indicate that, the results of student research during 2016-2020 in general are still dominant in not integrating ICT, obtained 19 student studies that have integrated ICT and as much as 2.4% dominant using the type of R&D research. The type of learning in student research that has integrated ICT is 2.14% dominant using multimedia-based learning. As well as research students who have integrated ICT 0.57% dominantly use ICT media in the form of Macromedia Flash and Adobe Flash.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar untuk memfasilitasi mahasiswa pada perkuliahan Dasar dan Proses Pembelajaran Matematika (DPPM) yang memenuhi kelayakan yakni memiliki kriteria valid dan praktis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model pengembangan dari Plomp. Prosedur pengembangan terbagi menjadi tiga tahap yakni: (1) studi pendahuluan; (2) pengembangan atau pembuatan prototipe; dan (3) penilaian. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar angket kevalidan dan kepraktisan buku ajar. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa calon guru program studi pendidikan matematika semester IV, dan dosen pendidikan matematika di Pekanbaru. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, berdasarkan hasil dari komentar para validator buku ajar yang dikembangkan telah valid dengan kriteria baik, baik dari aspek konten, media, maupun bahasa. Selanjutnya berdasarkan ujicoba terbatas, buku ajar yang dikembangkan telah terbukti praktis dengan kategori baik. Hasil ini dapat dilihat  berdasarkan masukan dan komentar beberapa mahasiswa yang menjadi subjek ujicoba bahwa, isi materi dan bahasa mudah dipahami, kalimat sederhana dan adanya ringkasan disetiap BAB nya sangat mendukung proses perkuliahan. Kata kunci: buku ajar, dasar dan proses pembelajaran matematika, pengembangan Abstract This study aims to develop texbooks to facilitate students in the Basic and Mathematics Learning Process (DPPM) lectures that are feasible to use, namely meeting valid and practical criteria. This research is a development research with the development model of Plomp. The development procedure consists of three phases, namely: (1) preliminary research; (2) development or prototyping phase; and (3) assessment phase. The data collection technique used is the validity assessment sheet, and the practicality of textbooks. The research subjects were students of fourth semester mathematics education teacher candidates, and mathematics education lecturers in Pekanbaru. to produce valid and practical textbooks to facilitate the DPPM lecture process. The results of this study indicate that, based on the results of the comments of the validators, the textbooks developed have been valid with good criteria, both in terms of material, media and language aspects. Furthermore, in the limited trial stage, the developed textbooks showed practicality with good criteria. These results can be seen based on the input and comments of several students who are the subject of the test that the content of the material and language is easy to understand, simple sentences and the existence of a summary in each chapter really supports the lecture process. Keywords: basics and the process of learning mathematics, development, textbooks
