Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of chemistry learning by us­ing Diagram I in guided inquiry learning on student achievement on the subject matter of hydrolysis of salt class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta Academic Year 2017/2018. This research uses experimental method with research design that used is randomized Control group pretest-posttest design. The population used is a class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta The data analysis technique used is by using the right-t test. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that learning chemistry using Diagram I in guided inquiry learning on the achievement of learning on the subject of salt hydrol­ysis is effective to the eleventh grader of SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta in the academic year of 2017/2018. It can be proved by the result of calculation with the value of calculation that is 2.422 higher than the ttable price is 1.671 for the learning achievement of the knowledge aspect, while the Mann-Whitney U test attitude and skill aspects aspects have the significance value of 0.021 and 0.047.

Abstract

  Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan aspek kesatuan, kepaduan, pengembangan, dan karakteristik dalam menulis paragraf persuasi melalui media poster. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah dengan dokumentasi dan studi kepustakaan. Teknik analisis data adalah dengan menganalisis kesalahan penulisan paragraf persuasi yang dilakukan oleh 27 orang siswa kelas XG SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya  meliputi aspek kesatuan, kepaduan, pengembangan, dan karakteristik paragraf persuasi. Dari hasil dokumentasi, ditemukan 17% paragraf persuasi yang tidak sesuai dengan aspek kesatuan, 43% paragraf yang tidak sesuai dengan aspek kepaduan, 35% paragraf yang tidak sesuai dengan aspek pengembangan, dan 6% siswa yang tidak sesuai dengan aspek karakteristik paragraf persuasi.   Kata Kunci: Menulis, Paragraf Persuasi, Media Poster Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe aspects of unity, cohesion, development and characteristics in writing paragrafs persuasion via the posters. The method used is descriptive method. The data collection technique is the documentation and study of literature. Data analysis technique is by taking a typing error in paragraf persuasion performed by 27 students of class XG SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya include aspects of unity, cohesion, development and characteristics of persuasion paragrafs. From the results of the documentation, found 17% paragraf persuasion that does not comply with this aspect of unity, paragraf 43% which is not in accordance with aspects of cohesion, paragraf 35% which is not in accordance with aspects of the development and 3%  paragraf that does not comply with paragrafs characteristic aspect of persuasion.   Keywords: Writing, Paragrafs Persuasion, Media Poster

Abstract

  Abstract: The purpose of this research was to find out the effectiveness of the use of Word Mapping technique in teaching vocabulary. To achieve the objectives of the research, a pre experimental research was conducted at SMP Negeri 14 Pontianak with the subject of the research was the eighth grade students in class VIIIA in academic year 2015/2016 which was chosen by using cluster random sampling technique. The findings of the research obviously showed that there was a significant difference of the students’ achievement before and after Word Mapping technique was applied, and that the use of the technique had a highly significant effect on the students’ vocabulary mastery shown by the students’ improved scores on the posttest. To sum up, the present research findings proved that the use of Word Mapping technique is highly effective in teaching vocabulary to the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 14 Pontianak academic year 2015/2016.   Keywords: Word     Mapping   Technique,   Vocabulary   Mastery,   Vocabulary Teaching   Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan teknik Word Mapping pada pengajaran kosa kata. Untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian, sebuah penelitian pre-experimental telah dilakukan di SMP Negeri 14 Pontianak dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII A pada tahun ajaran 2015/2016 yang telah dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Hasil penelitian dengan jelas menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap prestasi siswa sebelum dan sesudah teknik Word Mapping diterapkan, dan penggunaan teknik teresebut mempunyai efek yang signifikan terhadap penguasaan kosa kata siswa yang ditunjukkan dari peningkatan skor posttest siswa.  Dapat disimpulkan bahwa, penggunaan teknik Word Mapping efektif terhadap pengajaran kosa kata pada siswa kelas VIII A di SMP Negeri 14 Pontianak tahun ajaran 2015/2016.   Kata kunci: Teknik Word Mapping, Penguasaan Kosa Kata, Pengajaran Kosa Kata

Abstract

AbstractThis research is motivated by the low score of students in learning to write poetry in SMP Negeri 3 Semparuk therefore, the researcher is interested to apply contextual learning approach. This study is devoted to describe the learning process that can improve the skills of writing poetry, student responses, and the results of writing poetry using contextual learning approaches in A class of seven grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Semparuk. The form of this research is qualitative with descriptive method. Data in this research is the process of learning, student responses, and the results of poetry learning. Data collection techniques in this study using test techniques, observation, and documentation.The results showed that writing poetry using contextual learning approaches in students succeeded in improving students' poetry writing skills. The process of writing poetry writing by teachers is very good. Student responses use a good contextual learning approach. The average score of students between the cycles has increased, in the first cycle reached 74.80 and the second cycle reached 82.96. The percentage of students' completeness score among the cycles also increased, that is in the first cycle reached 52% and the second cycle reached 89%.  Keywords: improvement, skill, poetry writing, contextual learning approach.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan hasil belajar siswa dalam menulis teks berita melalui media audio visual di kelas VIII B SMP Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan rancangan penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 31 siswa di kelas VIII B. Hasil analisis data tes menunjukkan bahwa ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa mencapai 75,5 dengan kategori baik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak 2 siklus dan selalu mengalami peningkatan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media audio visual dalam proses pembelajaran menulis teks berita dapat melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam menuangkan pikiran- pikiran ke dalam bentuk tulisan dan membantu siswa dalam memperoleh gambaran yang jelas tentang peristiwa yang terjadi pada berita yang akan ditulis. Hal ini terjadi karena fokusnya indera pendengaran dan penglihatan siswa, sehingga mengatasi kesulitan siswa dalam menuangkan ide atau gagasan dalam bentuk tulisan.   Kata Kunci: Menulis Berita, Media Audio Visual   Abstract: This study aimed to describe the process and student learning outcomes in a text message through audio-visual media in class VIII B of SMP St. Francis of Assisi Pontianak. The method used is descriptive qualitative research design Class Action. The subjects were 31 students in class VIII B. The results of the analysis of the test data indicates that the completeness of student learning outcomes reached 75.5 in both categories. This research was conducted by 2 cycles and always increase. Based on the results of data analysis can be concluded He use of audio- visual media in the process of learning to write news text can engage students actively in expressing thoughts into written form and assist students in obtaining a clear picture of the events of the story to be written   Keywords : Writing Text News, Using Media Audio Visual

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif pada siswa kelas X Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Pontianak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam 3 siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif dapat meningkatkan hasil berbicara  pada siswa kelas X Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Pontianak. Sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif nilai rata-rata siswa 57. Setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif siklus I nilai rata-rata berbicara siswa 59,29,. Pada siklus II nilai berbicara siswa 72,29. Sedangkan pada siklus III nilai rata-rata siswa menjadi 78,55. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penelitian tindakan kelas menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif dapat meningkatakan keterampilan berbicara pada siswa kelas X Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Pontianak.   Kata kunci: Keterampilan Berbicara, Model pembelajaran Kooperatif Abstract: This research in order to improve the skills of speaking through the learning models cooperative in grade X MAN 1 Pontianak. This research used the method of descriptive by using the research a class  action carried out in three cycles. The result showed that of the cooperative learning can improve the skills of speaking in grade X MAN 1 Pontianak. Before using this method the average value of the students is 57, meanwhile after using the first cycles of the cooperative learning the average value of the speaking is 59,29. In the second cycles 72,29 and the last cycles become 78,55. Then it can be concluded that action class by using the cooperative learning can be improve the skills of speaking students in grade X MAN 1 Pontianak.   Keywords : Skills of speaking, The Cooperative Learning Model.

Abstract

AbstractThis research was conducted to find out whether or not the use of clustering technique is effective in teaching writing recount text and if it is effective how effective is the use of clustering technique in teaching writing recount text. In doing this research, the researcher used pre experimental study in one group pretest and posttest design. This research was conducted to the eighth grade students of SMP Islam Bawari Pontianak in Academic Year 2015/2016. The researcher used cluster sampling and the sample of this research was class VIII A. The research found that the technique was effective to enhance students’ recount text writing due to the t-test calculation result which was 10.55. The technique was significantly effective to enhance students’ recount text writing as the result of effect size analysis categorized as high. It was concluded that the technique was able to be used in enhancing students’ recount text writing and the effect was positive. The researcher recommends an English teacher at that school to use this technique as a variation in the teaching process, especially in teaching writing recount text.          Keywords: clustering technique, writing, recount text

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis teks pidato karangan siswa kelas X SMA Islam Bawari Pontianak yang dilihat dari sistematika, isi, dan penggunaan kalimat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan bentuk kualitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X B SMA Islam Bawari  Pontianak dengan jumlah 29 orang. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa sistematika teks pidato siswa kelas X SMA Islam Bawari Pontianak terdiri atas salam pembuka, sapaan penghormatan, pendahuluan, inti, penutup, dan salam penutup. Akan tetapi, pada sistematika tersebut masih memiliki kekurangan di antaranya terdapat pada pendahuluan, inti, dan penutup. Isi teks pidato siswa saklik, jelas, hidup, memiliki tujuan, dan dibatasi seperti pada ciri pidato yang baik. Akan tetapi, isi teks pidato siswa masih belum berisi hal-hal yang mengejutkan, klimaks, pengulangan, dan humor. Penggunaan kalimat pada teks pidato siswa masih belum efektif. Hal ini disebabkan masih memiliki kesalahan berupa kecermatan, kepaduan, keparalelan, kehematan, kelogisan, dan kesepadanan.   Kata Kunci : Penulisan, Teks Pidato Abstract: This study aims to analyze the text of speeches by students class X Bawari Islamic senior high school that looks at the systematics, the content, and the use of words. The research method used is descriptive to the shape of a qualitative. This study sample is the student class X B Bawari Islamic senior high school with the number of 29 people. The data analysis shows that systematics text of the student class X senior high school with regards the opening, say hello to the respects, the introduction, the core, cover, and the closing regards. But in systematics the compassion has the disadvantage of them was that there was the introduction, the core, and an end. The contents of the text the students saklik, obviously, life, has a purpose, and constrained as in a speech. However the speech students still do not contain or be a suprise, klimaks, repetition, and sense of humor. The use of words on the student still has not been effective. This is due to still have a mistake in the form of precision, scouting, xonnect in parallel, frugality, logically, and the agreement.   Keywords: Writing, The text of speech

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research was to answer the problems about how does local legend improve students? reading comprehension in comprehending the detailed information, finding the meaning of words, and drawing the conclusion about moral value of narrative text to the eighth grade students of SMPN 3 Sungai Raya Bengkayang. This research was classroom action research. The data of this research were taken from the students? score and the notes were taken through observation schedule. The total number of students was 26 students. The research finding indicated that students? ability in comprehending narrative text using local legend was improved. Students? prior knowledge about local legend improved students? ability in comprehending the detailed information by asking students to arrange the random paragraph and give students testing activity, the familiarity of the words were used in local legend improved students? ability in predicting the meaning of vocabulary by asking the students to guess the meaning of the word based on the context and the environment of local culture values of local legend improved students? ability in drawing conclusion about moral value of narrative text by giving an opportunity to discuss and to conclude the lesson. It can be proven from students? mean score result in cycle 1 to cycle 3. In the first cycle, students? mean score was 48. 6, it was 64. 2 in second cycle and it raised to 78. 4 in the third cycle. Keywords: Reading Comprehension, Narrative Text, Local Legend   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab masalah mengenai apakah legenda  lokal meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa dalam memahami informasi rinci, menemukan arti kata dan menarik kesimpulan mengenai pesan moral dalam teks naratif di kelas delapan SMPN 3 Sungai Raya Bengkayang. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Data diperoleh dari nilai siswa dan catatan observasi diperoleh melalui jadwal observasi. Jumlah siswa adalah 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam memahami teks naratif menggunakan legenda lokal meningkat.  Pengetahuan siswa sebelumnya tentang legenda lokal meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dalam memahami informasi rinci dengan meminta siswa menyusun paragraf acak dan memberikan latihan soal, kosakata yang sudah diketahui sebelumnya yang digunakan dalam legenda lokal meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memprediksi arti kosakata dengan meminta siswa menebak arti kata berdasarkan konteks, dan nilai-nilai budaya lokal di lingkungan sekitar dari legenda lokal meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menarik kesimpulan pesan moral dari teks naratif dengan memberikan kesempatan untuk berdiskusi dan menyimpulkan pelajaran. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dari hasil rata-rata perolehan nilai siswa di siklus 1 hingga 3. Pada siklus pertama, rata-rata perolehan nilai siswa adalah 48. 6, 64. 2 di siklus kedua dan meningkat menjadi 78. 4 di siklus ketiga.   Kata Kunci: Pemahaman Membaca, Teks Naratif, Legenda Lokal
