Abstract

Background: Cancer patients can experience both physical and non-physical problems such as psychosocial, spiritual, and emotional problems, which impact the quality of life. Previous studies on quality of life mostly have employed multivariate analyses. To our knowledge, no studies have focused yet on the underlying causal relationship between factors representing the quality of life of cancer patients, which is very important when attempting to improve the quality of life.  Objective: The study aims to model the causal relationships between the factors that represent cancer and quality of life. Methods: This study uses the S3C-Latent method to estimate the causal model relationships between the factors. The S3C-Latent method combines Structural Equation Model (SEM), a multi objective optimization method, and the stability selection approach, to estimate a stable and parsimonious causal model. Results: There are nine causal relations that have been found, i.e., from physical to global health with a reliability score of 0.73, to performance status with a reliability score of 1, from emotional to global health with a reliability score of 0.71, to performance status with a reliability score of 0.82, from nausea, loss of appetite, dyspnea, insomnia, loss of appetite and from constipation to performance status with reliability scores of 0.76; 1; 0.61; 0.76; 0.72; 0.70, respectively. Moreover, this study found that 15 associations (strong relation where the causal direction cannot be determined from the data alone) between factors with reliability scores range from 0.65 to 1.Conclusion: The estimated model is consistent with the results shown in previous studies. The model is expected to provide evidence-based recommendation for health care providers in designing strategies to increase cancer patients’ life quality. For future research, we suggest studies to include more variables in the model to capture a broader view to the problem.

Abstract

Abstract

Shallots are tubers commonly consumed by Indonesians. Shallots are one of the three members of the Allium genus that are much-loved and have high economic value. In the process of cultivating shallots susceptible to pests and diseases. Onion caterpillars, leaf flies, earthworms, purpura, fusarium wilt, onion mosaic and leaf spot are some of the pests and diseases that often attack shallot plants. Farmers will immediately give pesticides or methods that are sometimes not suitable for pests and diseases that attack. As a result, maintenance is not optimal and new pests or diseases often arise. This study aims to help farmers find early symptoms of shallot pests and diseases, so that pest and disease control is more optimal and on target. Processed as many as 10 attack data using Case Based Reasoning method. This method will process data in the form of symptoms seen in shallots, so that they can detect types of pests and diseases of shallots and their handling steps with 100% accuracy. Therefore, this method is relevant for the identification of shallot disease

Abstract

The introduction of hijaiyah letters is only done manually using the Iqra 'book. The introduction is done by reading the letters and reciting them, so that the introduction process is still less interesting, especially for children who are just starting to learn the Qur'an and know the hijaiyah letters. An interactive learning is needed in the form of audio-visual so that children tend to be more responsive, one of the supporting factors for interactive learning is the existence of media or learning facilities that use mobile-learning (M-learning) technology. This study aims to introduce hijaiyah letters to children by using an application based on Augmented Reality technology, which can be operated using an Android smartphone. Data collection methods used in this study were observations and interviews conducted at the Al-Barokah Baturraden TPA. This research refers to the multimedia development method, namely the multimedia development life cycle (MDLC) as a system model in building applications. The output of this application is that the application will display a video on the smartphone screen containing the hijaiyah letter learning material. On the results of blackbox testing, namely functional testing, obtaining a percentage of 100%, which means the features in the application function properly in accordance with the design objectives. In usability testing using the usability scale system calculation, the score is 81.71 which means it gets an acceptable (high) category for acceptability or acceptance level, grade B for grade scale or application level and excellent rating for adjective rating or application rating which indicates that the application is acceptable. by the user. Abstract

Horticultural products are products from the agricultural sub-sector with potential and prospects for development. Horticultural products consist of medicinal products, fruit, vegetables, and ornamental plants. However, some farmers are still not optimal in getting results from their cultivation because they do not understand how to control pests and diseases of horticultural crops. This causes the plant to be susceptible to various diseases. Identification of diseases in these plants is often done manually so it takes a long time. The development of computer technology can be utilized in various branches of science, one of which is the field of artificial intelligence. Expert systems are included in one of the scientific branches of the current artificial intelligence program. Expert systems have the ability to solve a particular problem, usually requiring an expert from an expert. The method that will be used is the case-based reasoning (CBR) approach. This study aims to help farmers diagnose diseases and pests, so that they are more optimal and on target in controlling. In the implementation of the expert system with the CBR method, a diagnosis will be obtained, and it will be recommended for plant control. Case Based Reasoning method is used to process 10 data. This method will process data in the form of symptoms seen in horticultural plants. The test results obtained a percentage value of 80%. Therefore, the application of the Case Based Reasoning method is very relevant in the Diagnosis of Diseases and Pests in Horticultural Crops.

Abstract

The Selection of outstanding students at the Faculty of Engineering is an activity that is routinely carried out every year. It starts with each department selecting student candidates who are considered outstanding and collecting some data such as GPA, certificates of academic or non-academic achievements, and certificates of organizational history. Furthermore, representatives of each department follow the selection at the faculty level. In the process of selecting outstanding students, the faculty forms a team that will assess the outstanding student candidates. However, the process is still done manually and takes a long time to process the data. In addition, the manual processing of high-achieving student selection scores is prone to data processing errors which ultimately lead to inaccuracies in the assessment results. Therefore, based on this problem, a decision support system (DSS) is needed to assist the Faculty in determining one of the outstanding students using the AHP method. The criteria that become input in the selection of outstanding students are GPA, scientific papers, number of academic achievement certificates, non-academics, and English language skills. The results of this study indicate that the AHP method can determine alternative recommendations for outstanding students based on the specified input criteria with a consistency value of 0.56.
