Abstract

This research is motivated by the low skill of writing descriptions of 5th-grade students of SD Negeri 38 Pekanbaru with 37 students. It is known that no highly skilled students, 5 skilled students, 9 students are quite skilled and 23 students are less skilled in writing descriptions. This type of research is classroom action research conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings and one daily test. This study aims to improve the skills of writing student descriptions. The data in this study were obtained through observation and tests. The data analysis technique used is the analysis of teacher and student activities as well as analysis of skills in writing descriptions. The results of the analysis of teacher activities in the cycle I of the first meeting with a percentage of 75% and the second meeting 79%, while in the cycle II the first meeting with a percentage of 83% and the second meeting 88%. Activities of students in the first cycle I the first meeting with a percentage of 71% and the second meeting 75%, while in the cycle II the first meeting was 79% and the second meeting 83%. The results of the analysis of the skills of writing student descriptions can be seen from before the action carried out the average value of students obtained at 49.51, after the action in the cycle I increased to 75.11 and the cycle II increased to 81.65. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the application of guided writing strategies can improve the skills of writing descriptions of 5th-grade students of SD Negeri 38 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability to write free poetry for fifth grade students at SD Negeri 161 Pekanbaru. This isbecause there are still teachers who are less creative in giving lessons to students. For free poetry, two-dimensional picturemedia is a suitable for use. This research aims to determine the differences in the ability to write free poetry for studentsusing two dimensional picture media. This research method uses quasi nonequivalent control group design experiments. Thisresearch was conducted in two classes V in SD Negeri 161 Pekanbaru, namely VB as the control class and VC as theexperimental class, with each class totaling 30 students. Based on the results of the research obtained the ability to write freepoetry for students who learn using two dimensional picture media better and higher increase than students who learnwithout using learning media. It can be seen from the gain index in the experimental class using two dimensional picturemedia by 49% which is the medium category, while the gain index in the control class without using learning media is 17%which is a low category.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis background of research is students who experience barriers to learning This study aims to determine the factors that influence students intrinsic learning motivation and the factors that most influence student motivation to learn. This research was conducted in class V Elementary School in Cluster 1 Payung Sekaki district Pekanbaru city. Based  on the results of the study, it was found that the factors that influence students intrinsic motivation consist of ideals, student ability, student condition factor and dynamic elements. On ideals factors include active learning to achieve goals, the desire to succeed in learning and need for learning. In the factors of students abilities, including working alone, it is difficult to understand the material presented and dare to express opinions. On the factors of student conditions include enthusiasm in learning, discipline in learning, physical of students and spiritual condition of students. On Dynamic elements include high willingness, attention of learning, positive views in learning and students feelings toward learning. So, the factors that influence the intrinsic motivation of learn class V of Primary School Se-Gugus 1 of Payung Sekaki district , Pekanbaru city are the ideals which affect  7,565%.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of students not being able to place precisely the conjunctions in writing compoundsentences, and students have not been able to make compound sentences according to subject criteria, prediction, objects,and information. The purpose of this study was to describe the ability of sixth grade students of SD Negeri 105 Pekanbaru towrite compound sentences. This research has been carried out in July 2018 which uses descriptive quantitative methods withresearch subjects consisting of 142 students. Data collection techniques use test techniques, by giving 10 questions of essayquestions as an instrument. The results of the ability to write compound sentences for grade VI students from 142 studentsshowed 47 students who were categorized as very capable with a percentage of 33.09%, 22 students who were able to get acategory with a percentage of 15.50%, 34 students got enough categories with percentages 23.94% and 39 students got theless category with a percentage of 27.46%. Overall, the sample of 142 students obtained an average score of 67.61 in thecategory of quite capable. This shows that the ability to write compound sentences for students in grade VI of SD Negeri 105Pekanbaru as a whole has been categorized as quite capable.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran scrapbook untuk mitigasi bencana alam kebakaran hutan dan lahan di sekolah dasar dan untuk mengetahui kelayakan dari media pembelajaran scrapbook. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development,Implementation, and Evaluation). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu dengan menggunakan angket dan uji coba. Kelayakan media pembelajaran scrapbook diperoleh dari hasil validasi dan uji coba media. Validasi dilakukan oleh ahli materi, ahli media dan ahli praktisi. Uji coba yang digunakan yaitu dengan uji coba satu-satu dan uji coba kelompok kecil Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa validasi ahli materi yang dilakukan sebanyak 2 tahap yaitu validasi ahli materi tahap 1 media dikategorikan kurang valid dan validasi ahli materi tahap 2 dengan kategori sangat valid. Pada validasi ahli media media memperoleh penilaian dengan kategori sangat valid. Validasi yang terakhir yaitu validasi praktisi dengan kategori sangat valid. Uji coba yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu uji coba satu-satu dan kelompok kecil dengan kategori penilaian respon siswa yaitu uji coba satu-satu dikategorikan sangat layak dan uji coba kelompok kecil juga dikategorikan sangat layak. Hasil penelitian pengembangan ini menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran scrapbook untuk mitigasi bencana alam kebakaran hutan dan lahan sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran di sekolah dasar.
