Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to find out: (1) which one provides better mathematics learning achievement: conventional, Numbered Heads Together, or Jigsaw with contextual approach learning model, (2) which one provides better mathematics learning achievement: the students with linguistic, logical-mathematics, or interpersonal intelligence, (3) in each multiple intelligence, which one provides better mathematics learning achievement: conventional, Numbered Heads Together, or Jigsaw with contextual approach learning model, and in each learning model, which one provides better mathematics learning achievement: the students with linguistic, logical-mathematics, or interpersonal intelligence. This study was a quasi-experimental research with 3x3 factorial design. The population of this research was the seventh-year-students of State Junior High Schools of Madiun Municipality in the school year of 2012/2013 with the students of SMPN 4 Madiun, SMPN 6 Madiun, and SMPN 10 Madiun as the sample. The research instrument used was mathematics learning achievement test and questionnaire of multiple intelligence. The hypothesis test used was unbalanced two way analysis of variances. The test on the hypothesis revealed that: (1) learning model of Jigsaw with contextual approach provided better mathematics learning achievement than conventional and Numbered Heads Together learning model, while learning model of Numbered Heads Together provided better mathematics learning achievement than conventional learning model, (2) there was no difference in mathematics learning achievement between students with linguistic, logical-mathematics and interpersonal intelligence, (3) in each multiple intelligence, learning model of Jigsaw type with contextual approach provided better mathematics learning achievement than conventional and Numbered Heads Together learning model, while learning model of  Numbered Heads Together provided better mathematics learning achievement than conventional learning model, and in each learning model, there was no difference in mathematics learning achievement between students with linguistic, logical-mathematics and interpersonal intelligence. Abstract

Abstract: The objective in the research is to find out: (1) the learning approach giving better learning achievement, whether learning with contextual approach with problem solving approach or with direct learning; (2) the student learning style providing better learning achievement, whether visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learning styles; (3) in each learning approach, who having learning achievement better, the students with visual, auditory or kinesthetic learning style; and (4) in each learning style, which one providing better learning achievement, the learning with contextual approach with problem solving approach or with direct learning. The population of research was all IX (ninth) graders of Junior High School in Bojonegoro Regency consisting of 55 school. The sample was taken using stratified cluster random sampling. The sample of research consisted 305 students divided into experiment I, experiment II, and control groups.The conclusion of research was: (1) the learning with contextual approach giving better mathematics learning achievement than the problem solving approach and direct learning. (2) The students with visual learning style had learning achievement better than those with auditory one. But, there was no difference of learning achievement between the students with visual and those with kinesthetic learning style and there was no difference of learning achievement between the students with auditory and those with kinesthetic learning style. (3) In learning with contextual approach, all learning styles had the same learning achievement, while in the learning with problem solving approach, the students with visual learning styles had different learning achievement, the students with visual learning style had the same learning achievment with the students with kinestetic learning styleand the students with auditory learning style had the same learning achievment with the students with kinestetic learning style. Indirect learning, there was no difference of learning achievement between the students with visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles. (4) In the students with visual,auditory and kinesthetic learning style, there was no difference of learning achievement between the students with contextual approach,problem solving approach and direct learning.Keywords: contextual, problem solving, learning style.

Abstract

Abstract:This research aims to find out: (1) which one providing better mathematics learning achievement, Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with Lesson Study based contextual approach, Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with contextual approach, or conventional learning, (2) which one providing mathematics learning achievement, the students with visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learning styles, (3) in each learning model, which one providing better mathematics learning approach, the students with visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learning styles, (4) in each learning style, which one providing better mathematic learning achievement, Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with Lesson Study-based contextual approach, Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with contextual approach, or conventional learning model.This study was a quasi-experimental research with 3x3 factorial design. The population of research was all IX graders of MTs Negeri of Madiun Regency in the school year of 2012/2013 consisting of 13 school. The sampling technique used was stratified cluster random sampling with 259 students as the sample. The school classification based on the Mathematics score in National Examination of 2010/2011 school year obtained MTsN Kare for the sample with high classification, MTsN Sidorejo Wungu for the one with medium classification, and MTsN Rejosari for the one with low classification. The research instrument used was mathematics achievement test and student learning style questionnaire. Technique of analyzing data used was an umbalanced twoway analysis of variance.The conclusions of research were: (1) the jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with lesson study-based contextual approach provided better learning achievement than the one with contextual approach and conventional learning, while the jigsaw type of cooperative learning model provided the achievement as same as the conventional learning did. (2) the students with visual learning style had learning achievement equal to those with auditory learning style, while both of them had better learning achievement than those with kinesthetic learning style. (3) the students with the visual,auditorial and kinesthetic learning style, the jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with lesson study-based contextual approach provided better mathematics learning achievement than jigsaw type cooperative learning with contextual approach and conventional learning, while the jigsaw type of cooperative learning provided the achievement as same as the conventional learning did. (4) in Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with Lesson Study based contextual approach, Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with contextual approach, or conventional learning,, the students with visual learning style provided mathematic learning achievement as same as those with auditory learning style337did, while both of them provided better learning achievement than those withkinesthetic learning style.Keywords: Cooperative Learning, Jigsaw, Contextual Teaching and Learning,Lesson Study, Learning Style.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research was to investigate: (1) which of the Modified TPS learning model, the TPS learning model, and the conventional learning model results in a better mathematics learning achievement; (2) which of the students with high, mediun, and low learning disciplines have a better mathematics learning achievement; and (3) which of the Modified TPS, TPS and conventional learning models result in a better learning achievement for each level of learning discipline of the students; and (4) which of the high, medium, and learning disciplines of the students result in a better learning achievement for each learning models.This research used the quasi-experimental method. The population of this research was all students of the junior secondary schools in Ngawi regency in the academic year of 2012/2013. The samples of this research consisted of 284 students who were divided into three experiment groups. The three groups consisted of group 1, group 2, and group 3. Both of group 1 and group 2 consisted of 190 students whereas group 3 consisted of 94 students. The data of this research were gathered from test of learning achievement in Mathematics, questionnaire, and documentation. The data were then analyzed by using umbalanced Two-way Analysis of Variance.The result of the research are as follows: (1) the learning model of Modified TPS is better than that of the TPS and conventional learning models while the learning model of TPS is better than the conventional learning model; (2) the students with high learning discipline have a better learning achievement than those with medium and low learning discipline while the students with medium learning discipline is better than the low learning discipline; (3) in high and medium learning discipline of the students,the learning achievement achieved through the learning model of Modified TPS is better than that achieved through the TPS and conventional learning models while the learning achievement achieved through the TPS learning model is better than that achieved through the conventional learning model. However, in the low learning discipline of the students,the learning achievement achieved through the learning model of Modified TPS is better than that achieved through the TPS,andthe Modified TPS learning model is as good as the conventional learning model and the TPS learning model is as good as the conventional learning model; and (4) in Modified TPS and TPS of the learning models, the high learning discipline of the students results in a better learning achievement than the medium and low learning disciplines while the medium learning discipline results in a better learning achievement than the low learning discipline. However, in the conventional learning model the high learning discipline of the students results in a better learning achievement than the medium learning model, andthe medium learning discipline of the students are giving the same mathematics learning achievement with the low learning discipline.Keyword : Modified TPS learning model, TPS learning model, conventional learning model, learning discipline and learning achievement.

Abstract

DOI: 10.17014/ijog.v8i4.170East Ketungau Basin is one of frontier basins in Indonesia. Some of these basins, especially those in eastern Indonesia, have been identified to possess potential of oil and gas. The existing publications of geological fieldworks and extensive exploration in the East Ketungau Basin are limited. The detailed sedimentological and biostratigraphical studies of the sedimentary succession will be used to reconstruct the tectonic and palaeogeographical history of the basin. The sedimentary Mandai Group consists of three facies such as mudstone facies, clean sand facies and alternation between thinly coal seam, coaly shale, and claystone facies. However, each facies characterizes depositional environment of barrier- island and associated strand-plain systems.

Abstract

DOI: 10.17014/ijog.v5i1.89Sulawesi was formed during the Oligocene - Miocene collision between the Eurasian Plate and micro-continental fragments detached from the Indian-Australian Plate. The Sengkang Basin situated on the South Sulawesi Province, was formed by a major north northwest - south southeast trending fault system of the Walanae Fault Zone, which was followed by the formation of Late Neogene foreland basin and syn-orogenic deposition. The fault system separated the eastern and western parts of South Sulawesi and influenced the deposition during the Late Miocene to Quaternary. The lower part of the deposition unit consists of small carbonate reefs of the Tacipi Member occupying the East Sengkang Basin, where this shallow marine facies is intercalated within or overlies marine claystones representing the base of the Walanae Formation. The middle sequence is interpreted as a delta foreset consisting of the Samaoling and Beru Members. During the deposition of these two members, the northern part of the Sengkang Basin gradually changed from a tidal and deltaic to fluvial environments. Furthermore, the upper sequence of this sedimentary unit is dominated by fluvial deposits.

DOI: 10.17014/ijog.v6i2.119Indonesia contains many Paleogene and Neogene basins which some of them have been proven to be a very prolific producer of oil and gas. A study on the result of Rock-Eval pyrolysis and biomarker undertaken on the Eocene Mandai Group was able to assess hydrocarbon potential of the Paleogene fine sediments in the frontier basin, especially West Kalimantan area. East Ketungau Basin is located in the western Kalimantan, bounded with Melawi Basin by the Semitau High in the south and West Ketungau Basin in the west. The Mandai Group was deposited in the East Ketungau Basin during Eocene, consisting of sandstone and mudstone facies. Mudstone facies comprises shale, claystone, and coal. Seven samples of Eocene fine sediments collected from East Ketungau Basin were analyzed by Rock-Eval pyrolisis and three samples for biomarker to evaluate their hydrocarbon potential. The Rock-Eval pyrolisis result of Mandai Group shows that TOC value of this facies ranges from 0.34 % to 5.16 %, Potential Yield (PY) between 0.06 and 4.78 mg HC/g rock, and Hydrogen Index (HI) from 12 to 89. Based on that result, the fine sediments of Mandai Group are included into a gas prone source rock potential with poor to fair categories. Moreover Tmax values vary from 426o C to 451o C. The Eocene fine sediments of Mandai Group fall under kerogen type III. Based on Tmax and biomarker analyses, the maturity of the sediments is situated within immature to mature level. The fine sediments of Mandai Group were deposited in a terrestrial to marine environment under anoxic to sub-oxic condition.

Abstract

The researcch about the geographic distribution of diary cattle breeders, is held in Subdistrict of Selo, Cepogo, Musuk, Boyolali, Mojosongo, Teras, and Banyudono, Boyolali regency. This research aims to investigate potential areas for dairy attle breeding and the physical factors (availability of groundwater, average temperature, altitude, accesibility) that contribute most to the density of cattle in the research site. In addition, it investigates the differences m water supply for dairy cattle breeding and the ratio of income to cost at every morphological units as well as the effect of the amount of water supply on milk production and the effect of the Ca content of groundwater on the density of dairy cattle. The methods use in the research is survey method. The data colleted in the research consist of 200 primary data of the respondents taken from head of dairy cattle breeders families using a questionnare. Secondary data are obtained from related agencies, reference books and other authorized source dealing with the research yopic. In order to find out the differences in water supply for dairy cattle breeding and the ratio of income to cost, a statistical measurenment with Anova test is carried out. A multiple regression test is used to find out the effects of the availability of groundwater, altitude, average temperature, and accesibility on the density of dairy cattle. A simple regression test is used to find out the effects of water supply on milk producctin and the Ca sontent of groundwater on the density of dairy cattle.The result of the research indicate that the research  site consist of four morphological units, namely the Volcanic slope, Volcanic foot, fluvio Volcanic foot, fluvio volcanic plain. The potential areas for dairy cattle breeding are situated at an altitude of 700 meters, temperature 17o C – 21o C especially the areas in the subdistrict of Selo and Cepogo. The result of the statistical test indicate that the most differences in the amount of water supply for dairy attle breeding as well as in the rasio between income and cost among morphological units. Water supply for dairy cattle breeding has no effect on milk production, whereas the Ca content of groundwater has no effect on the density of dairy cattle.

Abstract

 ABSTRACTThe purposes of this study are to know the different effect of each category of learning model, curiosity, and cognitive style, also their interaction towards mathematics achievement. This study is a quasi experimental research with 2x3x2 factorial design. The population is all students of junior high school in Blora. Sampling was done by stratified cluster random technique. The instruments used to collect data are test of prior knowledge in mathematics, curiosity questionnaire, cognitive style test (GEFT), and mathematics achievement test. The testing of hypothesis uses three-way analysis of variance with unequal cell. The testing of hypothesis concludes that (1) There is a different effect between each category of learning model. (2) There is a different effect among each category of curiosity. (3) There is a different effect among each category of cognitive style. (4) There is an interaction between learning model and curiosity towards mathematics achievement. (5) There is an interaction between learning model and cognitive style towards mathematics achievement. (6) There is an interaction between curiosity and cognitive style towards mathematics achievement. Abstract

Opak River Basin is an area with high concentration of settlement. Generally, the settlement use groundwater as a water source. Variation of groundwater condition cause differentiation of water usage in some regions. There are two objectives of this research. First, to determine aquifer system in the research area and second, to calculate the groundwater potential in each aquifer system. To achieve these objectives, aquifer system is determined base on its geology and geomorphology, whereas groundwater potency is calculated by static and dynamic approach. As a result, show that the aquifer system in Opak River Basin can be distinguished into seven aquifer system. There are The Upper Merapi Aquifer System, The Middle Merapi Aquifer System, The Lower Merapi Aquifer System, Baturagung Range Aquifer System, The Aquifer System of Baturagung Range Foot Slope, Sentolo Hill Aquifer System and Sanddune Aquifer System. Among the seventh aquifer system, The Middle Merapi Aquifer System, The Lower Merapi Aquifer System and The Sanddune Aquifer System have high productivity. Sentolo Hill Aquifer System and The Aquifer System of Baturagung Range Foot Slope Aquifer have low productivity, whereas The Baturagung Range is categorized as non akuifer.
