Abstract

The aims of this study: (1) analyze the feasibility of LKPD with a contextual approach, (2) analyze the practicality of LKPD with a contextual approach, (3) analyze the effectiveness of LKPD with a contextual approach to improve students' scientific literacy skills. LKPD with this contextual approach helps students in linking the influence of unhealthy living culture on the health of the excretory organ system in humans. This study uses the Thiagarajan 4D (Four-D Model) development model, consisting of four stages, namely the definition stage, the design stage, and the development stage. The dissemination stage was not carried out, this research was only limited to testing the feasibility and effectiveness of the product. The results showed that: (1) LKPD with a contextual approach was feasible, judging from the results of the material validator 3.54 (very good), the results of the media validator 3.89 (very good), and the results of the teacher validator 3 (very good), ( 2) the results of the analysis of the students' responses are 3.12 (very good), (3) based on the results of the analysis of N-Gain and Effect Size, LKPD with a contextual approach is effective in improving students' scientific literacy skills (N-Gain 0.56 (moderate) Effect Size 1.22 (height)). Based on the analysis of the Paired Sample T Test, there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores.

Abstract

Learning is now gradually recovering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic with the start of limited face-to-face learning. This makes educators need to innovate so that students still have independent learning. Less than optimal online learning causes students to be too passive when learning offline. To overcome this, research was carried out through the development of science module based on flipbook about physics in the respiratory system. This study aims to determine the feasibility level of the module, to determine the responses of students, and to find out whether the module can increase students' independence in science learning. This study uses the Thiagarajan 4D (Four-D Model) development model, consisting of four stages, namely the definition stage, the design stage, and the development stage. The dissemination stage was not carried out, this research was only limited to product feasibility testing. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The sample in this study is class VIII A totaling 10 people. The collection technique used is a questionnaire and documentation. The results showed that: (1) science module based on flipbook was feasible, judging from the percentage of the feasibility of the module 96.73% (very feasible), (2) student responses to the module were in the very good category, seen from the percentage of interest in the module 90.00% (very interested), and the students' independence in learning science using flipbook-assisted science modules were included in the high category, with a percentage of 86.25% (high science learning independence).

Abstract

Much research has been carried out on local wisdom at the junior high school level nationally, but research that has been published internationally and is Scopus indexed specifically discusses local wisdom at the junior high school level is still very minimal. The purpose of writing this research is as material to find out trends in local wisdom research in junior high school science learning. This study uses a bibliometric analysis method that uses sources from Scopus with publication limits from 2019 to 2023 on the Scopus database, and utilizes the VOSviewer application as a visualization tool. Data analysis through the Scopus database in this research was based on search results with local wisdom keywords written in the title words column and science learning as keywords. Found 45 publications in Scopus during 2019-2023 that discuss local wisdom in junior high schools. Published articles about local wisdom in junior high school science learning during 2019-2023 will be more researched in 2020 based on the results of data analysis through the Scopus database. The results of the bibliometric analysis research show that the trend of research on local wisdom at the junior high school level in the five year period (2019-2023) has focused more on the position of students as learning subjects and the development of research on local wisdom in junior high schools that specifically discusses the implications for strengthening the attitude of love for local culture for students have not been studied much

Abstract

Science learning is still not integrated with the surrounding environment so that students tend not to be able to recognize the local wisdom of their area. Even though science learning contains local wisdom, it can increase students' love of local culture, creating contextual and meaningful learning. To overcome this, research was carried out through the development of a science e-book containing gamelan's local wisdom based on STEAM-POE. This development research aims to (1) determine the validity of a science e-book containing gamelan's local wisdom based on STEAM-POE (2) find out student’s love local culture. This study uses the Thiagarajan 4D development model (Four-D Model), which consists of four stages, namely the definition stage, the design stage, and the development stage. The dissemination stage was not carried out, this research was only limited to product feasibility testing. The research design used was the one-group posttest-only design. The sample in this study was class VIII E, totaling 32 people. The collection techniques used were questionnaires and documentation. The results of the material expert validity test showed that the science e-book containing gamelan's local wisdom based on STEAM-POE was declared very valid with an Aiken's V value of 0.992 and the validity of the teaching material expert showed that the science e-book containing gamelan's local wisdom based on STEAM-POE was declared very valid with Aiken's V score of 1.0. Students' love of local culture after using the science e-book containing local gamelan's local wisdom based on STEAM-POE shows a score of 3.266 in the very good category. Students' love of local culture also gets a variable score of 52.5 which is included in the high category.

Abstract

Batik tulis is one of Indonesia's cultural heritage which is rich in meaning and philosophical value. Batik tulis crafts are scattered in various parts of the region with their respective characteristics. One of the regions producing batik art is Yogyakarta. The process of making batik is often taught in arts and culture subjects in the context of preserving Indonesian culture, even though the process of making batik can also be integrated into science learning. There are many components in the process of making batik tulis related to natural science material. This research aims to determine aspects of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) in the process of making batik for the development of junior high school science teaching materials. This research method uses qualitative research with descriptive analysis of the Miles and Huberman model. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling which was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature review. The results of this study indicate that the local wisdom of batik tulis Yogyakarta contains STEAM aspects in the manufacturing process and can be used as science learning material in junior high schools.
