Abstract

Abstract This thesis is aimed at raising the existence of Sampelong into a new form of work. It is because nowadays people are not really appreciative toward the traditional music, like Sampelong.In this musical work “Godang Onjak”, the writer wants to show that traditional music is not a monotonous music, but traditional music can be developed with different generated patterns and merged with other modern musical instruments. So, traditional music especially Logu sampelong art can be more attractive and acceptable to the public, especially the young generation. Thus, the traditional music will be more interesting and preserved by the next generation.   Kata kunci : komposisi, Godang Onjak, Kesenian,Sampelong.

Abstract

The purposeof this research is to describethe strategy, planning, implementation, and evaluationof music learning daerah setempat atJunior High School 6 in Padang city.This research isa qualitativeresearch by applying a methodof descriptive analysis. The object of the research is the Music strategiesLearning at the daerah setempat. The datawere collectedby observation, interview, library study,anddocumentation. This research was interactively analyzed,such as collecting the data, clarifying the data,organizingthe findings, and drawing a conclusion. The result of research is that cultural-art teacher of junior high school 6 Padang who specially teach at the class of VII-2 have the strategy in the process of learning at the class. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of extracurricular drumband in SMA Negeri 1 Padang Ganting. The research method used qualitative research type with descriptive-analysis approach. Technique of collecting research data with observation, interview, and literature study. While data analysis is done by collecting primary data and secondary data. The result of the research shows that the implementation of the drumband extracurricular in SMA Negeri 1 Padang Ganting is in various problems, especially from the less trainer side, the boring material, the undisciplined students, the limited facilities, and no estuary of the drumband activities that cause students, And the drumband organization SMA Negeri 1 Padang Ganting can perform again. Keywords: Extracurricular Drumband

Abstract

Abstrak Tor-tor was firstly introduced by the ancestors from North Sumatera. It consisted of three main parts which were the dance called Tor-tor Dance, the music for accompanyiang the dance called as Gondang Dua and the song called as Onang-onang (Ende-ende). In the wedding ceremony, there were four kinds of Tor-tori performed: Tor-tor Raja-raja/Namora mora, Andorsoayu, Naposo/Nauli Bulung and Tor-tor Pengantin. Tor-tor was commonly performed in the afternoon (in the closing stage of a tradisional wedding ceremony). Gondang Dua and Onang-onang (Ende-ende) wich accompanied Tor-tor dance in a wedding party were presented in the formn of dance and music show in Alaman Nabolak (a large yard).   Kata Kunci: Tor-tor Art, Silaping, kecamatan Ranah Batahan Kabupaten Pasaman Barat

Abstract

Abstract This research was aimed at revealing the students’ interest toward music throught observing their extracurricular activities in music at SMP Negeri 8 Padang. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The result of the research indicated that before the part-time teacher paid, the student had no interest in music, instead they joined some musical activities out of the school. However, after the part-time teacher worked with them and the program was organized, the students started to show their passion on music. Shortly, the students’ interest was likely to rise as the goal and the target of an activity were defined clearly.   Keyword : Interest, music, extracurricular activities, descriptive, qualitative.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the conventional learning methods used in studying vocal students in singing songs especially songs INS Kayutanam Minang in high school. This research is descriptive qualitative. Object of research is the use of conventional methods in the art of vocal high school students Syafei National Institute (INS). The results using conventional methods in the art of vocal INS Kayutanam high school students. Demonstration peers, kepatihan method is a special method that focuses on how to read notation numbers in Minang song, making students more quickly accept new material and easier to understand by students. Abstract

Abstract This study was aimed conducting an extracurricular activity with a new method, so it can trigger students to participate in this activity. This a a qualitative study with descriptive-analysis method. It was intended to describe the implementation of guitar extracurricular activity at SMPN 8 Padang. The data were collected through observation, interview, documentation, and library study. The result revealed that guitar extracurricular activity at SMPN 8 Padang was carried out by using video lessons media in order to improve students’ creativity in playing musical instrument.Thus, it can be concluded that (1) its guitar curricular activity ran well, but needs some improvement; (2) video lessons media was expected to be able to motivate student to participate n this activity; (3) student can play simple song by using guitar either individually or in grup; (4) student were able to express and perform their ability in school activities; (5) student could get good achievement in many music competitions. Abstract

Abstract This a article was intended to reveal the phenomena of Islamidar in the traditional music art in West Sumatera including him ideas, creativity and him contribution toward the development of Minagkabau traditional music in West Sumatera. This was a qualitative research which used Biography method. The data was gotten through interview, direct observation and documentation. The instruments of the research were the researcher herself, note-book, recorder and audio visual media. The data gathered then was analyzed by using ethnography data analysis technique. The research findings revealed that Islamidar had a talent in music since he was a child. He learned music in the age of 5, and when he was 16, he had become a great Talempong player. He had arranged a practical scale of Talempong to accompany a song or a dance. With him creativity, Islamidar had created more popular technique of playing Talempong, music for accompanying dance and arrangement of Talempong beats. Furthermore, Islamidar had a contribution in popularizing Talempong musical instruments so that there was an increasing interest among the society and artists either in or out of country. At last, the composition of Talempong had become a Talempong orchestra recently. Kata Kunci: Islamidar, Musik Talempong, dan Tangga Nada Talempong

Abstract

Abstract This research was intended to describe the presentation structure of Malam Bainai a wedding ceremony in Kelurahan Kubu Dalam Parak Karakah Kecamatan Padang Timur Kota Padang. This was a qualitative research which used descriptive analysis approach. The procession of Malam Bainai consisted of three main parts including Bamandi-Mandi, Maniti Kain Kuniang, and Bainai. In bainai procession, inai was applied by bako, and the sisters of the bride’s mother, the wife of the bride’ uncle or female family coming in that procession. Abstract

Abstract   The aim of this research is describe the study of ensambel music recorder in using training method in SMP Negeri 05 kota Pangkalpinang. This research can be categorized as qualitative research. The way of collection data of this research used observation step through learning process. The way analysis of the data in this research using qualitative research and describing the data. The result from all of the steps in this study can be briefed that learning ensambel music recorder using practise method in SMP Negeri 05 kota Pangkalpinang in the class VIII b is good, it means that practise method can increase the result of study in playing music ensambel music recorder in class VIII b in SMP Negeri 05 kota Pangkalpinang.
