Abstract

This research was carried out in November 2013 until January 2014 in the laboratory of Fish Diseases and Parasites, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science Riau University Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research was to understand the histological structure of liver and kidney of Mystus nemurus that is immersed with Curcuma xanthorrhiza ROXB extract. The method used in this study was experimental and the histologycal structure of the fish will be analyzed descriptively. The treated fish were immerse in 3 different concentration of Curcuma xanthorrhiza ROXB extract, they were (P1 (0.2 g/L), P2 (0.4 g/L, P3 (0.6 g/L). for five minutes/ day for 30 days period. The negative control were fishes that were not treated with Curcuma xanthorrhiza ROXB extract. The liver showed hemorhage, fatty degenerative and necrosis. The kidney showed necrosis and hemorhage. It was concluded that immersion of fish in Curcuma xanthorrhiza ROXB extract shown histologycal alterations in the tissue of Mystus nemurus.Key words: Mystus nemurus, Curcuma xanthorrhiza ROXB, kidney, liver

Abstract

This research had been conducted in April up to June 2014 in LaboratoryofParasite andFish Diseases,Faculty of Fisheriesand Marine Sciencesof RiauUniversity. This research aims to find out the type of bacteria pathogenicpotentially infect slice of fish in the Kampar River, Teratak Buluh Village in RiauProvince. The adventages of this research is to provide the types of bacterialpathogens that potentially attack the slice of fish in the public water of Riau. Themethod applied in this research is survey methode by taking some samples in thefield ( in Kampar River ) and then analyzed in the laboratory. Abstract

This study has been conducted on June to November 2015 in at Parasite and Fish Disease Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Riau. The aims of this study was to determine the effect of curcumin extract from turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val) usage through the immersion method and infected by Aeromonas hydrophila on histopathological kidney of Pangasius hypopthalmus. This study used an experimental method and histological of the kidney structure of Pangasius hypophthalmus were analyzed by descriptive. The treated fishes were immerse in three different concentrations of curcumin extract. Kn: (Negative control) the fish were not immersed in Curcumin and without infected by Aeromonas hydrophila, Kp: (Positive control) were not immersed in Curcumin and were infected by Aeromonas hydrophila P1: The fish were immersed in curcumin 0,5 mg/L, P2: The fish were immersed in curcumin 0,7 mg/L, P3: The fish were immersed in curcumin 0,9 mg/L. The fish for two minutes for once a week and fishes were reared for 28 days. Showed that the abnormalities of kidney such us congestion, haemorrhage, degeneration , and necrosis. Base on data obtain it can be concluded that the best concentration of curcumin 0,9 mg/L is able to prevent the MAS disease in Aeromonas hydrophila.Key words : Pangasius hypopthalmus, curcumin extract, histopathology, kidney

Abstract

The research was conducted in July 2016 to Januari 2017 in the Laboratory of Parasites and Fish Disease of Fisheries and marine science University of Riau, Integrated Chemical Laboratory the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science of Health Muhammadyah University of Riau and Fish Quarantine Station, Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products clas I Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to sensitivity determine the ability of Rhizophora sp. stem skin extracted can inhibit the growth of bacteria A. salmonicida and to know the toxicity of Rhizophora sp. stem skin extract against gold fish, the LD50 test was conducted by immersion for 24 hours. Sensitivity test is using the method of Kirby bauer disk blank 6 mm disc with dose used were 10000 ppm, 9000 ppm, 8000 ppm, 7000 ppm, 6000 ppm, 5000 ppm, 4000 ppm, 3000 ppm, 2000 ppm, 1000 ppm and control Ampicilin. The result shown that the Rhizophora sp. stem skin extract can inhibit the growth of bacteria A. salmonicida that in the dose of 1000 ppm with 7,90 mm clear zone . MIC test showed this resueld is 800 ppm has a number of colonies of bacteria aqual 219.66 x 108 CFU/mL. Is able to inhibit the growth of bacteria A. salmonicida. Dose LD50 stem skin extract Rhizophora sp. against gold fish by immersion for 24 hours in 750 ppm.Keyword: Rhizophora sp., Sensitivity, Minimum Inhibitory Concentration, Aeromonas salmonicida

Abstract

This research was conducted on June until August 2016 in Parasites and Fish Diseases Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine science, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The aim of this research was to determine leucocyte differentiation of Pangasius hypopthalmus that were feed with curcumin extract from Curcuma domestica V. This research used five treatment such as; Kn (negative control): that were feed without curcumin extract and were not infected with A. hydrophila, Kp (positive control): that were feed without curcumin extract and infected with A. hydrophila, P1: feed with curcumin extract in 0,3g/kg, P2: feed with curcumin extract in 0,5g/kg and P3: feed with curcumin extract in 0,7 g/kg. Fish reared in an aquarium the size of 40x30x30 cm with stocking density 10 fish / aquarium, feeding as many as 10% of body weight and do 3 times a day. Pisciculture carried out for 30 days and after that fish infected with Aeromonas hydrophila. The results shown that P3 (feed with curcumin extract in 0,7 g/kg) were the best treatment with lymphocytes 83,00%; monocytes 5.33%; neutrophils 3,67%; thrombocyte 8.00%; total leukocytes 12,01x104 cell/mm3; and fagocyte index 58,33.Keyword: Leukocytes, Pangasius hypopthalmus, Curcuma domestica V, Curcumin Extract

Abstract

ABSTRAKDaun mangrove Rhizophora sp. memiliki kandungan antimikrobial seperti tanin, alkaloid, flavonoid dan saponin. Penyakit Motile Aeromonas Septicaemia disebabkan oleh bakteri Aeromonas hydrophila yang dapat menyebabkan kematian 100 % dalam kurun waktu tiga hari. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui dosis terbaik dari ekstrak daun Rhizophora sp. mengobati penyakit MAS (Motile Aeromonas Septicaemia) dilihat dari gambaran eritrosit ikan jambal siam (Pangasius hypophthalmus).Metode yang dilakukan adalah eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) satu faktor empat taraf perlakuan. Ikan uji yang digunakan adalah ikan jambal siam yang terinfeksi A. hydrophila berukuran 13-15 cm, sebanyak 120 ekor. Dosis yang digunakan untuk pengobatan adalah 1300 ppm, 1600 ppm, 1900 ppm, dan kontrol tanpa pengobatan. Pengobatan dengan cara perendaman di dalam larutan ekstrak daun Rhizophora sp. selama 5 menit dilakukan dua kali dengan selang waktu 24 jam. Parameter yang diukur antaralain; total eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, nilai hematokrit, dan kelulushidupan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun Rhizophora sp. mampu mengobati ikan jambal siam yang terinfeksi MAS (Motile Aeromonas Septicaemia) dengan metode perendaman. Dosis yang terbaik 1600 ppm ditandai dengan rata-rata total eritrosit 290 x104 sel/mm3, kadar hemoglobin 9,30 g/dL, nilai hematokrit 29,66 %, dan kelulushidupan ikan uji pascapengobatan 84,61%. Kata kunci: Rhizophora sp, Aeromonas hydrophila,Hematologi, Pangasius hypophthalmus

Abstract

This research was conducted from November 2016 until April 2017 in the Parasites and Fish Disease Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, University of Riau and Integrated Chemical Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science of Health Muhammadiyah University of Riau. The aims of this research was to determine the sensitivity of Xylocarpus sp. leaf extract on Pseudomonas sp., the range of Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of Xylocarpus sp. leaf extract can inhibit the growth of Pseudomonas sp. and know the toxicity of Xylocarpus sp. leaf extract against African catfish, the LC50 test conducted by immersion for 24 hours. This research used an experimental method. The treatment that being used were giving Xylocarpus sp. leaf extract at a concentration of D1 (100%), D2 (90%), D3 (80%), D4 (70%), D5 (60%), D6 (50%), D7 (40%), D8 (30%), D9 (20%), D10 (10%) and Kp : control (cloramphenicol). The results showed showed that Xylocarpus sp. leaf extract can inhibit the growth of Pseudomonas sp. at a concentration of 10% with an average of 8,12 mm zone of inhibition. MIC test showed a concentration of 8,5% average number of colonies of bacteria as much as 248,67 × 108CFU/mL can inhibit the growth of Pseudomonas sp. LC50 Xylocarpus sp. leaf extract against African catfish by immersion for 24 hours in the concentration 8,6% (860 ppm).Key words : Xylocarpus sp., Minimum Inhibitory Concentration, Pseudomonas sp., Sensitivitas, LC50

Abstract

ABSTRACT          The research was conducted in June to October 2017  in Parasites and Fish Diseases Laboratory Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau. The purpose of this research was to determine total leucocyt, leukocytes differentiation, and phagocytosis index of Pangasius hypophthalmus. There were five treatments applied namely negative  control (Kn) was the fishes were not infected with Aeromonas hydrophila and were not immersed with Lawsonia inermis L. solution, positive control (Kp)  was the fishes were not immersed with  Lawsonia inermis L.  solution but were infected with Aeromonas hydrophila. The dose of Lawsonia inermis L. solution were 2000 ppm (P1), 3000 ppm (P2), 4000 ppm (P3). The fishes were immersed for five minute in once a week for five times. Based on the data, it can be uncluded that the immersion with Lawsonia inermis is able to increace the immune system of the Pangasius hypophthalmus. The best dose was at 2000 ppm wich was shown by lymphocyte 83,33%, neutrophils 8,33%, monocyte 8.33%, total leukocyte 11,27x104 cell/mm3, fagocyte index 63,33%, the average of weight 6,97 g and survival  rate 93,33%. Keyword: Leukocytes, Pangasius hypophthalmus, Lawsonia inermis L, phagocytosis, Aeromonas hydrophila

Abstract

Abstract            Ectoparasites is an organism whom attach itself on the outside of host’s body. The purpose of the study was to determine distribution of ectoparasites which attack catfish in fishponds. The research was conducted in January until March 2018. Fish sample size 8-14 cm, was collected from fishponds in Kuok village, Riau Province, and identificated on Parasites and Fish Disease Laboratory of Marine and Fisheries Faculty University of Riau.The result shown that ectoparasites was found, there were; Dactylogyrus sp., Trichodina sp.,  Oodinium sp. The prevalence value has an average 50-60 % and intensity for each ectoparasites, there were; Dactylogyrus sp. 7-10 cell/fish, Trichodina sp. 3-5 cell/fish, and Oodinium sp. 4-5 cell/fish. Water quality in fishponds Kuok Village, Bangkinang Barat District of research shown that was normally water quality, with temperature average 27-30 0C, pH 6-7, DO 5,4-5,8 mg/L, and ammonia 0,14-0,30 mg/L. Keywrods: Catfish, Prevalence and Intensity, Ectoparasites

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted on June until August 2018 in Experimental Pond and Laboratory of Parasites and Fish Diseases, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding turmeric curcumin extract and the best dosage of turmeric curcumin extract which was added to the feed to enhance the non-specific immune system of Pangasius hypothalmus which is maintained in cages. The method used is the experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) of one factor 4 level of treatment. Each treatment, namely: P0: Feeding without addition of turmeric curcumin extract, P1: Adding turmeric curcumin extract in feed at a dose of 0.5 g / kg, P2: Adding turmeric curcumin extract in feed at a dose of 0.7 g / kg , P3: Addition of curcumin extract in feed at a dose of 0.9 g / kg. The test fish used was Pangasius hypothalmus with a size of 7-8 cm as many as 600 tails. The parameters measured are; total leukocytes, leukocyte values, leukocyte differentiation, phagocytic index, absolute weight growth, survival rate and water quality measurements. The results obtained from the study, namely there is the effect of giving turmeric curcumin extract in feed with the best dose is 0.9 g / kg, which is indicated by a total leukocyte of 9,41x104 cells/mm3, leukocyte value of 1,67%, lymphocytes value 80,67 %, neutrophils 7.33%, monocytes 12.00%, phagocytosis index 29.67%, absolute weight growth 31.67% and survival rate 99.33%. Keywords: Leukocytes, Pangasius hypothalmus, Turmeric curcumin extract
