Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji validitas TPA UNJA dengan variabel kriteria lainnya. Sebagai alat ukur kognitif potensial, TPA UNJA harus memiliki hubungan dengan kriteria yang menjadi variabel prediksinya. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah non-random sampling. Subjek dalam penelitian ini merupakan siswa dan mahasiswa yang mendapatkan tes seleksi, penempatan kelas, dan penjurusan kuliah oleh peneliti. Hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif antara TPA UNJA dan SPM dengan koefisien korelasi rxy 0,638 (p=0,000; p<0,01; N=210), serta antara TPA UNJA dan komponen Sains dan Teknologi pada Tes Minat Indonesia dengan rxy 0,112 (p=0,015; p<0,05; N=243). Hasil korelasi Skor TPA UNJA dengan Skala Sikap terhadap Pelajaran menunjukkan hubungan yang positif dengan Bahasa Inggris, Matematika, Kimia, Biologi; menunjukkan hubungan yang negatif dengan Bahasa Indonesia, PKN, Sosiologi, dan Sejarah; sedangkan tidak berkorelasi dengan Agama, Fisika, Ekonomi, Geografi dengan nilai p<0,05; N=256. Berdasarkan pendidikan orangtua, TPA UNJA memiliki hubungan positif dengan pendidikan ibu dengan rxy 0,312 dan ayah dengan rxy 0,205 (p=0,000; p<0,01; N=285). TPA UNJA memiliki hubungan yang positif dengan nilai UN Pusat (p<0,05: N=103); Matematika rxy 0,237; Bahasa Indonesia rxy 0,322 dan Bahasa Inggris rxy 0,200, namun tidak terdapat hubungan dengan nilai UN Fisika, Kimia dan Biologi. Penelitian selanjutkan melakukan validitas prediktif dengan prestasi belajar, lama studi maupun kepuasan belajar. Abstract. The purpose of this study to examine TPA UNJA with other variables. As a potential cognitivemeasurement, TPA UNJA must have a correlation with the criteria that would be predicted. Samplingtechnique used non-random sampling. Research subjects were students and university students who gotselection test, class placement, and majors college by researchers. The results of this research showedthat there was a positive correlation between TPA UNJA and SPM with correlation coefficient r¬xy0.638 (p=0.000, p<0.01; N=210), and between TPA UNJA with component Science and Technology ofIndonesian Interest Test with r¬xy 0.112 (p = 0.015; p<0.05; N=243). Correlation between TPA UNJAwith Attitude Scale to Lesson showed positive correlation toward English, Mathematics, Chemistry,Biology; There was a negative correlation to Indonesian, PKN, Sociology, and History lessons; and nocorrelation with Religion, Physics, Economics, Geography with value of p<0.05; N=256. Based onparental education, TPA UNJA had a positive correlation with mother education r¬xy=0.312 andfather r¬xy=0.205 (p=0.000; p<0.01; N=103). TPA UNJA had a positive correlation with nationalexamination score (p<0.05; N=103); Mathematics r¬xy=0.237; Indonesian r¬xy=0.322 and Englishr¬xy=0.200, but there was no correlation with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. TPA UNJA wassupported by various external criteria, so it had a high level of validity. The next research to conductpredictive validity with GPA, length of study and learning satisfaction.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk menyusun Skala Sikap terhadap pelajaran Praktis yang memenuhui proprertis psikometris yang baik: valid, reliabel, praktis, terstandardisasi dan bermanfaat. Skala terdiri dari pelajaran Seni Budaya, Muatan Lokal, Olahraga, dan Teknologi Informasi dan Komputer. Sikap meggunakan teori Charles Osgood, terdiri dari komponen: potensi, aktivitas, evaluasi. Skala menggunakan teknik penskalaan semantif differensial dengan kontinum 1-7. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan total subjek N=694 terdiri dari siswa SMA dan mahasiswa. Uji kecocokan model menghasilkan KMO > 0,900 dan BTS dengan LOS 0,000 sehingga data layak untuk analisis faktor. Hasil analisis faktor konfirmatori dengan metode varimaks mengkonfirmasi ketiga faktor pembentuk alat ukur tersebut. Aitem final skala menggunakan aitem dengan muatan faktor > 0,700 yang terdiri dari tiga aitem setiap sub skala. Skala dibuat dalam dua bentuk; utama dan paralel; dimana ujian Mean (M), varians (S²) dan korelasi (rxy) menghasilkan koefisien yang setara. Uji reliabilitas tes paralel menghasilkan koefisien ekivalensi рxx’’ >0,75. Skala menggunakan norma kriteria dengan lima klasifikasi. Skala dapat digunakan untuk pembelajaran, evaluasi, uji kriteria alat ukur lain, peminatan SMA dan penjurusan kuliah. Skala tersebut memiliki validitas faktorial yang sangat memuaskan, reliabilitas yang baik, jumlah aitem yang sedikit, norma yang jelas, serta dapat digunakan untuk berbagai keperluan. Penelitian berikutnya melakukan uji validitas dengan berbagai kriteria untuk mendukung validitas konstrak.

Abstract

Student attitude toward subject is strong predictor for academic successful. Student with positive attitude shows good academic achievement and attitude poor achievement. Earlier information about student attitude can optimilize academic successful.  Education stake holders can change attitude. Therefore, it needs a measurement to know student attitude toward subject. The purpose of research is to construct scale attitude toward Mathematics and Natural Sciences subject. Instrument should be valid, reliable, and discriminative and practice. Research used psychological measurement method. It used 185 high school students for subject. It used semantif differential method in scale (1-7). There were 68 items in scale. Factorial validity confirmed three factor construct a scale. Convergent validity showed there was positive correlation among scale component. Scale had internal consistency reliability 0,84 and test parallel reliability 0,92. All items had discrimination power D  > 4,00. Final scale uses 12 items. Instruction and scoring can be done easily. Scale has good psychometric properties.  It has good validity, satisfied reliability, high discrimination power for items, and practice in used.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background : Attitude that’s performed by someone can predict behaviors of the future. It shows what person will do in coming activities. Human’s attitude towards certain subject represents an important predictor that brings to academic achievement. Students who mayor in the medical faculty are the ones who naturally are interested in the subjects of mathematics and Natural science in their school. These subjects represent the main lessons that the medical students learn, even those subjects become parts of tested component selection in the entrance examination of new students. Positive attitude owned by students who have a great interest in those subjects make someone pleased in learning activities, and will cause good learning achievment. In fact, what are learnt in their interests of  mathematics and science represent a condition of the lecture activities in the medical faculty. The purpose of this research is to show descriptions of Medical Students’ attitudes towards Mathematics and Science subjects. It consists of general and component descriptions about Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Methods : This is a descriptive research. Subjects of the researh are taken from population of the Medical Students of Jambi University the year 2013. The population of the research consists of 142 students, 45 males and 97 females. The research instrument uses attitude scale towards Mathematics and  Natural Science. It has face, logic and construct validity. It has 0,92 parallel test reliability that consists of 12 items. Result : Medical students have positive attitudes towards Biology. They have neutral attitude towards Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. There are greater positive attitude towards Biology. Very small numbers of students have negative attitude towards this subject. On Mathematics, there are more students who have positive attitude rather than negative ones. On Physics, there are twice numbers of students who have negative attitudes than positive ones. On chemistry, there are many students have positive attitudes. Conclusion: Medical students feel that learning Biology is  easy and simple subject. They evaluate it positively. They think that Biology is an important and useful subject. They are always ready waiting for learning this subject in class. They feel very comfortable with this subject.   Keywords: Attitude, Scale, Validity, Academic Achievement, Mathematics Science

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research was to get the support of the validity of the Indonesian Interest Tests through the components of interest in Psychic Sciences with variables whose measurements were valid. Psychic Interest consisted of sub-interests in the fields of Theology, Philosophy, Psychology, Education, Children with Special Needs and Management. The validity test was carried out with Academic Potential Tests and Attitudes towards the Study. The subjects of this study were Jambi University FKIK new students who received a Psychology test at the beginning of registration. There was no relationship between Psychic Interest and TPA with ρxy = -0.076 (p = 0.114; p <0.05; N = 479). There was a positive relationship with the attitude towards Sociology subject ρxy = 0.176 (p = 0.001; p <0.01; N = 470), and negative with Biology ρxy = -0.108 (p = 0.019; p <0.05; N = 470) there was no connection with other subjects. The Indonesian Interest Test was supported by various information about the validity of the construct through variables whose measurements are valid so that it had the power to diagose individual interests. TMI could be used for high school specialization, college majors, self career development, learning material, and research. To strengthen the validity it is recommended to test with academic achievement and learning satisfaction in the Psychology study program.AbstrakPenelitan  ini untuk mendapatkan dukungan validitas Tes Minat Indonesia melalui komponen minat Ilmu Psikis dengan variabel yang pengukuran sudah sahih. Minat Psikis terdiri dari sub minat di bidang Teologi, Filsafat, Psikologi, Pendidikan, Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus dan Manajemen. Uji validitias dilakukan dengan Tes Potensi Akademik dan Sikap terhadap Pelajaran. Subjek dari penelitian ini mahasiswa baru FKIK Universitas Jambi yang mendapatkan tes Psikologi diawal registrasi. Tidak ada hubungan antara Minat Psikis dengan TPA dengan ρxy = -0,076 (p=0,114; p <0,05; N=479). Terdapat hubungan positif dengan Sikap terhadap pelajaran Sosiologi  ρxy =0,176 (p=0,001; p<0,01; N=470), dan negatif dengan Biologi ρxy =-0,108 (p=0,019; p<0,05; N=470) tidak ada hubungan dengan pelajaran yang lain. Tes Minat Indonesia didukung berbagai informasi tentang validitas konstrak melalui variabel yang pengukuran sudah sahih sehingga memiliki kekuatan untuk mendiagosis minat individu. TMI dapat digunakan untuk peminatan SMA, penjurusan kuliah, penngembangan diri/karier, materi pembelajaran maupun penelitian. Untuk memperkuat validitas tersebut disarankan untuk uji dengan prestasi belajar maupun kepuasan belajar di program studi Psikologi.

Abstract

The purpose of the research to conduct a external criterion related validity of Health Sciences Component of Indonesian Interest Test. Attitude toward Subject scale as an external criterion with a good psychometric properties. The subjects consisted of new students faculty of medicine and health sciences The University of Jambi N=461. There was a positive relationship with Biology рxy= 0.173 (p=0.001;p<0.05) and Chemistery рxy= 0.148 (p=0.001;p<0.05). There was a negative correlation with Economics рxy= -0.112 (p=0.016; p<0.05), Sociology рxy=-0.161 (p=0.001; p<0.05), Geography рxy=-0.171 (p=0.001; p<0.05). There was no correlation with Religion, Civics, Indonesian, English, Mathematics, Physics and History. IIT was supported with criterion related validity, it had a high power to diagnosis student interest. It could be used for high school majoring, university majoring and learning material. The next research to conduct group validity with university program and personality.

Abstract

The purpose of research was to assess psychometric properties of scale attitude toward social sciences subject: Economics, Sociology, History and Geography. Psychometric properties consisted of validity, reliability and item discrimination. The subjects were 198 high school students with purposive sampling method. Scale used semantic differensial format with overall 68 items. One item unpassed, 67 items passes selection with rit ≥ 0,400. Factorial validity confirmed 3 assumed factors: activity, evaluation and potential. Convergent validity showed positive correlation among subscale. The parallel test reliability showed of equivalent coefficient rxx’ 0,939. The final scale consisted of 12 items, easily in used and scoring. The scale could be used for research, external validation of other scale, high school majoring, educational counseling, learning evaluation, education intervension and university majoring. The next research was to validate with external criterion especially academic achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to construct personality scale from Jung and Myers-Briggs personality type. Basic concept of personality type is human has four dimensional aspects. The dimensional consists of two personality type which is contrary. There are extrovert-introvert, sensing-intuition, thinking-feeling and judging-perceiving. Each human has this two contrary personality. But, one is dominant. Four combination of dominant personality aspect will make a personality type. The personality type can be used for student strategic learning, teacher teaching strategy, psychological counseling, identification of potential and recommendation for higher education program. Item format used question with two answers (a and b). Research subject was about 250 highs school students. There were 146 of 240 items which passed through selection. The final format scale uses 60 items which presents four dimensional aspects. Face, logic and construct validity were used in research. There were no correlations among four dimensional aspects of personality type. This shown good construct (discriminant) validity. Test retest reliability coefficient with one day interval was 0,91 and 0,81 for one week interval. The Scale can be used both for research and practice in psychology.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Clean and healthy behavior is important to be applied in our society. Many diseases is caused by untidy and unhealty habit. Such as diarrhea, dengue fever, contaminated larva, any other diseases. Therefore, wa are in need of outreaching, psycoeducation, and socialiszation for implementating clean and healty behavior, especially for children. Its Purpose is for enhancing knowledge on clean and healty lived implementation. This social event was conducted at RT.06 Tanjung Baru, Seberang Kota Jambi. The steps consist of approach, briefing, events, and third party contribution. Events that had finished are to educate hand washing, teeth brush, and throwing the garbage in it place. This activities work effectively in accordance with our purpose and society’s need. Keywords: Clean and healthy behavior, children, society ABSTRAK Perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat penting untuk diterapkan di tengah masyarakat. Banyak penyakit yang timbul akibat hidup kotor dan tidak sehat. Seperti diare, demam berdarah, kontaminasi larva, dan penyakit lainnya. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan penyuluhan, psikoedukasi, dan sosialisasi untuk penerapan hidup bersih dan sehat, terutama pada anak-anak. Hal ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan penerapan hidup bersih dan sehat. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan di di RT. 06 Tanjung Baru, Seberang Kota Jambi. Tahapan kegiatan terdiri dari pendekatan, briefing, kegiatan, dan kontribusi mitra. Adapun kegiatan yang telah terlaksana yaitu edukasi perilaku mencuci tangan, menggosok gigi, dan membuang sampah pada tempatnya. Kegiatan ini berjalan dengan efektif sesuai dengan tujuan dan kebutuhan masyarakat. Kata kunci: Perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat, anak-anak, masyarakat

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: The implementation of the SKADO (Srabut Kelapa Dorong) game is one of the efforts to improve the character of traffic discipline in children. Objective: To provide knowledge about traffic signs and traffic rules. Methods: The Activity community service uses the lecture method, visual media, and the application of skado games. This service is carried out for 6 months. Results: the Skado game has been implemented with the application of providing information regarding traffic signs and traffic order Conclusions: This community service has been going well. Children can follow the facilitator's instructions well and are able to play with the applicable rules Keywords: Child, Game, Skado ABSTRAK Latar belakang: Penerapan permainan SKADO (Srabut Kelapa Dorong) merupakan salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan karakter disiplin berlalu lintas pada anak. Tujuan: Untuk memberikan pengetahuan mengenai rambu-rambu lalu lintas serta tertib berlalu lintas. Metode: Kegiatan pengabdian menggunakan metode ceramah, media peraga, serta penerapan permainan skado. Pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan selama 6 bulan. Hasil: telah dilaksanakanya permainan skado dengan penerapan pemberian informasi mengenai rambu-rambu lalu lintas serta tertib lalu lintas. Kesimpulan: Pengabdian ini telah berlangsung dengan baik.
