Abstract

A numerical study to reduce the condenser pressure in critical areas of a power plant surface condenser has been carried out. Numerically, effects are considered through a three-dimensional simulation approach. Modifying by adding a guide plate with a three variation of angle, (?) 15?, 30?, 45? in the surface condenser area to reduce the dynamic forces and pressure due to the collision of fluid flow in the critical pipeline without reducing the purpose of the design of shell and tube heat exchanger results in transferring heat. The drag force caused by the interaction of the shear layer with the surface of the body is very undesirable, so that the control of the flow fields is needed, one of which is by optimal angle guide plate of the pipe arrangement in the critical area. This study aims to determine the optimal plate angle to overcome high pressure in the critical area. This research was numerically conducted using 3D CFD ANSYS 14.5 software with a turbulence model using a standard k-? using a pressure-based solution solver. The initial stage takes geometric data on the surface condenser in the design specification as the basis for making the domain and data from before as boundary conditions in the simulation research process. The result is that with the addition of guide plates, the average drag coefficient (Cd) is reduced compared to the average Cd in the baseline conditions and angle variation (?) 15?, 30?, 45? is 0.537; 0.644; 0.446; 0.464. Taking into this aspect, the most optimal plate angle is 30?. The simulation results show that changing the angle of the plate can reduce the Nusselt value than the baseline conditions.

Abstract

Torrefaksi saat ini menjadi salah satu metode konversi biomassa yang menarik karena kemampuannya sebagai salah satu pilihan energi terbarukan. Bahan bakar campuran batu bara dengan biomassa yang telah mengalami proses torrefaksi dipandang sebagai bahan bakar yang paling murah saat ini dan merupakan metode yang menjanjikan. Pemilihan bahan bakar biomassa berdasarkan karakteristiknya sangat diperlukan untuk memastikan agar proses pembakaran dapat tercapai dengan baik. Dua tipe residu biomassa dari hutan (tandan sawit kosong dan bambu) telah diteliti dengan berbagai suhu penahanan torrefaksi dan waktu penahanan torrefaksi yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan positif antara suhu dan waktu torrefaksi dengan kenaikan nilai kalor. Kadar air juga menurun bersamaan dengan semakin tingginya suhu dan makin lamanya waktu torrefaksi. Mass yield dan energy yield biomassa hasil proses torrefaksi juga telah dianalisis. Residu biomassa dari hutan yang telah melalui proses torrefaksi terbukti dapat menggantikan batu bara sebagai bahan bakar energi terbarukan.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas studi pendahuluan pengembangan kincir aerasi untuk tambak udang menggunakan sistem akuakultur cerdas terintegrasi untuk mendukung intensifikasi. Dua kincir aerasi dengan fase yang berbeda telah berhasil dipasang. Proses pengujian pada dua jenis motor yang berbeda ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui unjuk kerja dari masing-masing jenis motor pada kincir aerasi. Data hasil monitoring dapat ditampilkan pada aplikasi web yang dapat diakses menggunakan smartphone. Data yang ditampilkan dari proses monitoring berupa data tegangan, arus, frekuensi, daya, faktor daya, dan konsumsi daya yang dihasilkan dari motor kincir aerasi. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan kinerja motor kincir aerasi yang beroperasi dalam kondisi normal dengan persentase kesalahan pengukuran rata-rata yang dapat diterima. Abstract

This article discusses a preliminary study of developing a paddlewheel aerator for shrimp ponds using an integrated intelligent aquaculture system to support intensification. Two paddlewheel aerators with different phases have been successfully installed. The test was carried out on two different types of motors, which were intended to comprehend the performance of every motor on a paddlewheel aerator. The ratio of the speed values for a single-phase motor was 102 rpm and for a 3-phase motor was 110.3 rpm. The data from the performance observation of the aeration wheel motor can be viewed via a smartphone using a website application. The data displayed from the observations are in the form of data on voltage, current, frequency, power, power factor, and the power generated by the pinwheel motor. The test results show the performance of the aeration wheel motor that works under normal conditions with an average measurement error of 0.23%, below the acceptable error limit of 0.5%. This research forms the basis for a smart aquaculture system that can be developed domestically to support local industries in Indonesia.

Abstract

French as the second official language in the United Nations plays an essential rule in communication as a foreign language among professional and intercommunication. Institut Français Indonesia in Surabaya has an essential role in providing quality and reliable French language courses. Its presence during these five decades was so meaningful to Surabaya until early 2012, and the French government decided to make changes in the management and implementation of operational policies. Background of the research on the effect of customer experience on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty Institut Français Indonesia in Surabaya was based on the declining number of students during 2012-2014. In this study, 66 students from the advanced class in May and June as respondents. The results of this study were analyzed using path analysis. Customer experience significant effect on customer satisfaction directly by 0.967 with a positive direction, as well as the customer experience significant effect on customer loyalty directly at 0.479 with the positive direction. Customer satisfaction has a significant effect on customer loyalty at 0.485 with positive direction. P

Abstract

The main problem discussed in this study is the effort to improve the quality of shrimp pond water, especially the low dissolved oxygen levels by modifying the angle of the aerator wheel. The results showed that dissolved oxygen (DO) levels were very important in shrimp pond culture and that the paddle wheel aerator was a useful tool in intensive aquaculture systems because it could produce DO as needed. The study used a model designed using Solidworks software and tested at a scale of 1:10 with 3 variations of angles (15°, 35°, and 55°) at each wheel angle. The test results show that the angle variation affects the rotational speed and DO production, with the highest rotational speed and DO production achieved at an angle variation of 55°. However, the best parameters for the aerator were found at a variation of the wheel angle of 35° and a rotational speed of 300 rpm, because it produced the highest dissolved oxygen with relatively low power.

Abstract

In general, molding or FRP ship molds can only produce 1 (one) hull shape. This is of course, contrary to the production of ships which are mostly of the customize type (based on consumer demand) and very rarely in the form of mass products to produce sister ships. The high cost in the allocation of molding certainly makes economic considerations regarding the cost of shipbuilding. With the aim of a friendly fishing boat price, of course, it can make a mainstay and ease the burden on the answer to the high demand for fishing boats in the coastal community or the South Coast of Java. Multi-mold is a ship molding solution for FRP ship material that can produce more than one hull shape. This of course, will reduce the cost of producing a ship or boat. The cost budget plan is determined in detail through a survey of material prices and conducting a price determination study with an engineering estimate approach. In the multi-mold system or components, there are the main shell structure, reinforcement frame and suppot or mold holder. The shape of the multi-mold is carefully designed which can be knocked down each constituent component. The multi-mold disassembly process is accompanied by operational instructions and 3D simulation of the multi-mold assembly. The structural strength of the multi-mold components is also analyzed so that an effective and efficient multi-mold design is obtained

Abstract

Fenders are structures installed on the edges of ships to protect the ship's hull from impact with the dock. The main function of fenders is to absorb the collision energy generated by the ship's impact during berthing at a dock. The load applied to fenders on each ship results in stress distribution in the surrounding hull area, which can lead to various issues such as damage, cracks, deformations, and others. Additionally, the presence of fenders with different shapes can affect the stress distribution values in the surrounding hull area. Hence, a local stress analysis using finite element method software is necessary. The analysis focuses on static loads originating from the ship itself when docked at a port. However, only the fender section is analyzed, and it is not necessary to consider the entire ship's body. The objective of the analysis is to determine the stress characteristics and maximum stress values in the fender itself. The analysis results reveal that the highest stress value occurs in the half-pipe-shaped fender with a value of 0.22809 MPa. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the stress values in the fender meet the allowable standards. In conclusion, this analysis provides an understanding of stress and the maximum stress value in ship fenders. This knowledge is crucial to ensure that fenders effectively fulfill their function of protecting the ship from impacts with docks.

Abstract

The Indonesian shipping industry still needs to be developed so that the nation's sovereignty over maritime areas and the country's economic growth can be realized. The domestic shipbuilding industry has limitations which result in the number of Indonesian ship fleets being small and uneven. This increases the risk of illegal exploitation of marine resources by ships from foreign countries. Human resource development is still considered to be a very important point in efforts to realize progress in the shipping industry. Therefore, financial management training for shipyard employees in the context of community service will be carried out on a hybrid basis in August 2023. Based on a questionnaire supported by interviews, the participant satisfaction level was obtained at 4.36 on Scale 5. The obstacles that emerged during the training process were distance and time limitations. participants who are company employees who are far from the training provider institution.
