Abstract

Learning media is one of the key factors affecting the success of the learning process. Selecting and using appropriate and attractive media will have a positive impact on student learning success. Unfortunately, the use of educational me-dia, particularly those based on information and communi-cation technology (ICT) for Indonesian language learning, is still not widely practiced in Palangka Raya Christian Mid-dle School. The aim of this study is to identify students' per-ceptions of Indonesian language lessons using Kahoot media (a game-based learning application). Twenty five respond-ents selected for the purpose of sampling, a questionnaire was provided via google form. Data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test to determine Kahoot media's level of usefulness in Indonesian language learning. Integrating the use of ICT, especially smartphones, to learn Indonesian in the classroom can add positive energy to students, which in turn increases student motivation, student engagement and academic success.
