Abstract

Brucella vaccination was not only able to reduce the prevalence of brucellosis, but it could also affect reproductive efficiency. The objective of the study was to know the effect of brucellosis vaccination on reproductive efficiency of dairy cattle in terms of service per conception (S/C), days open (DO) and calving interval (CI). Data from individual records of 100 dairy cows at parity one, two and three owned by ranchers were analyzed descriptively based on a randomized block design. The results showed that vaccination had a significant effect on days open (DO) and services per conception (S/C). Abstract

The potential of phytoestrogen for the stabilized of low condition blood estrogen hormone much more important to be sudy. So the aim of this reseach were to find an natural herbal active compounds Water Clover Extract (Marsilea crenata) which contain phytoestrogen isoflavones as an alternative invasive treatment against menopause women and subestrus in dam of livestock. The other advantage is that could be potential to develop as alternative compound against animal with low level of blood calcium that relevance on progesterone level, because there was some rising of exogen phytoestrogen. This research is true experimentally post test control design based on completely randomized design. The old females white rat (Rattus norvegicus), divided into 5 groups challenges with 2 ml each Marsilea crenata extract in different concentration such as 6.25%, 12.5%, 25%, 50% given by gastric sonde along 23 days, compare negative control group. Level of blood calcium using SSA showed increase in all the treatment (P<0,05)  started on 12,5%, lower the progesterone and raised estrogen hormone as natural balance. To find about effect of Calcium toward osteogenesis used to determine the description of histopathologis (HE) bone tissue that impact on bone density. Histology os humerus showed that have impact on dense of bone tissue. The conclusion of this research were Marsilea crenata juice plays a role in increasing toward blood calcium levels and surely increase bone density in animal laboratory (Rattus norvergicus), supporting by blood  estrogen progesterone  balance. The suggestion was Marsilea crenata extract could be potential as a substance to increase estrogenic progesterone balance and rise blood calcium both in human and animal.

Abstract

Produksi susu sapi perah dipengaruhi oleh manajemen pemerahan. Lama massage dan milk flow rate merupakan bagian dari manajemen pemerahan yang dapat mempengaruhi laju pancaran produksi susu sapi perah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai bulan Januari sampai April 2016 di PT Greenfields Indonesia.Tujuan dari penelitian ini mengetahui adanya pengaruh interaksi lama massage dan lama milk flow rate yang berbeda pada sapi FH (Friesian Holstein) terhadap laju pancaran produksi susu. Materi penelitian menggunakan sapi FH periode laktasi sebanyak 64 ekor dengan bulan laktasi 3.Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen yang dilakukan 8 pengulangan.Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola Faktorial, dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis ragam/Analysis of Variant (ANOVA), dan apabila terdapat perbedaan yang nyata maka untuk mengetahui perlakuan yang optimal menggunakan Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat interaksi lama massagedenganlama milk flow rate yaitu memberikan pengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap laju pancaran produksi susu.  Perlakuan terbaik yaitu pada perlakuan M4 MFR2 (lama massage 4 detik dengan lama milk flow rate 60-120 detik) dengan rata-rata laju pancaran produksi susu 9,64±0,38liter/ekor/milk flow rate. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh yang nyata interaksi lama massage, lama milk flow rate terhadap laju pancaran produksi susu. Berdasarkan dari hasil rata-rata laju pancaran produksi susu pada perlakuan dapat diketahui bahwa semakin lama waktu massage dan lama milk flow rate akan meningkatkan laju pancaran produksi susu. Kata kunci: lama massage, milk flow rate, laju pancaran produksi  susu dan sapi perah FH.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to disseminate the technology of Artificial Insemiation (AI) and Milk Processing. This activity expected to help the Ettawa goat farmer to overcoming their problems which subsequently it can be improve theirincome.The methods use dinthisstudywastogiveinsightknowledgeandsimpletechnologytotheselectedEttawa goat partner group. Based on the discussion with Etawa goat partner group, several activities were carried out, i.e.: (1) to improve  good genetic quality of Etawa goat  livestocks, (2) providing milk technology product such as yogurt and kefir  (3)provide assistance of  cup sealer,(4)trainingofproductionandfinancialmanagement,(5)provide training artificial insemination. The result of this study showed that the Ettawa goat farmer as partner group  receive the strengthening  of their business. Such as adopted the techniqueofselectingsuperiorsires,livestock management,recycling of  manure  as a fertilizerproduction, milk technology production plant. .

Abstract

Tanaman semanggi air mengandung fitoestrogen yang mungkin dapat berpengaruh terhadap profil darah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat gambaran darah pada tikus betina setelah pemberian semanggi air. Tikus betina (Rattus norwegicus) sebanyak 30 ekor dalam penelitian ini dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok yaitu: I (K-) kontrol negatif, II (K+) kontrol positif, III (P1) diberi ekstrak semanggi air 6.25%, IV (P2) diberi ekstrak semanggi air 12.5%, V (P3) diberi ekstrak semanggi air 25% dan VI (P4) diberi ekstrak semanggi air 50%. Ekstrak etanol semanggi air diberikan peroral selama 21 hari pascapenyerentakkan berahi menggunakan prostaglandin 2 alfa dua hari sebelumnya. Profil darah lengkap diperiksa sesudah perlakuanpada parameter White Blood Cell (WBC), Red Blood Cell (RBC), Hemoglobin (Hb) dan Packed Cell Volume (PCV). Hasil analisa menunjukkan bahwa WBC, RBC, Hb dan PCV pada darah tikus menunjukkan perbedaan yang tidak signifikan diantara kelompok perlakuan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu pemberian ekstrak semanggi tidak mempengaruhi profil hematologi tikus.

Abstract

Rotavirus was recognized as the virus that responsible for causing acute gastroenteritis, especially young livestock. Taiwan Center for Disease Control (CDC) confirms the majority cases of acute gastroenteritis in Taiwan on February 2015 were caused by rotavirus. In this study, we report the incidence and zoonotic impact of rotavirus strain from Taiwan. This study examined 90 (swine) and 60 (bovine) fecal samples collected from south of Taiwan in March 2015. Detection of rotavirus using VP6 gene by RT-PCR technique with amplicons 379 bp. Zoonotic potential analysis based on nucleotide sequence and phylogenetic analysis. RT-PCR utilizing the primers specific for VP6 gene detected rotavirus with positive reactions 3/30 (10%) in piglets and 1/20 (5%) in the calf. Based on the nucleotide sequences and phylogenetic analysis indicated that 1 of 3 wild strains from swine rotavirus had 85.0% - 91.1% and 1 wild strain from bovine had 78.7% - 85.9% identity relations with human strains. These findings indicated that the wild strains of swine and bovine rotavirus may broadly spread and contribute to zoonotic transmission. Keywords: Bovine, Rotavirus, RT-PCR, Swine, Zoonotic.

Abstract

This study aimed at investigation the effects of kapok banana corm fermented with Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Aspergillus niger of a compound feed growing pigs on nutrient digestibility. Sixteen crossbred growing pigs Duroc x Landrace, (10 weeks of age; initial body weight 27 ± 3.92 kg) were allotted into four treatments in a randomized block design. There were four treatments diets offered: basal diets without corm fermented feeds (RO); basal diets + 7% corm fermented feeds (R1); basal diets + 14% corm fermented feeds (R2); basal diets + 21% corm fermented feeds (R3). Inclusion of 21% corm fermented feeds in the diet of pigs significantly reduced (P <0.01) dry matter intake and organic matter compared to the control diet. There were no significant different between 14% and 21% corm fermented feeds on the intake and digestibility of dry matter and organic matter of the pigs. However, inclusion of corm fermented feeds at the level of 7% showed the optimum digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, and energy with the average value of 66.57%, 70.48%, 83.43% and 70.76%, respectively. It can be concluded that inclusion of corm fermented feeds as compound diet at the level of 7% increased dry matter digestibility and organic matter.
