Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the decoction of betel leaf (Piper betle Linn) in the prevention of parasitic Cichlidogyrus sp on tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus) and calculate the intensity level of Cichlidogyrus sp parasites on the gills organ of tilapia. The research method using experimental methods and data processing is done descriptively. Immersion of tilapia in betel leaf (Piper betle Linn) decoction has no effect on the level of intensity of monogenea ectoparasite Cichlidogyrus sp. The level of intensity of the parasite at the highest in treatment A is 2.24 and the lowest in treatment D is 1.58 count/individual. Water quality parameter during the study is still in the proper conditions for the life of tilapia. Keywords: Betel leaf; ectoparasites; monogenea; tilapia; Oreochromis niloticus

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya tetas Artemia sp. pada air bersalanitas buatan dengan menggunakan beberapa jenis garam berbeda. Perhitungan daya tetas kista Artemia sp menggunakan metode grafimetrik. Metode Penelitian ini menggunakan eksperimental dan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan nyata (F > 0,05) terhdap daya tetas Artemia sp. Hasil ini menunjukan bahwa penggunaan garam dengan perlakuan A ( perlakuan dengan garam cap segi tiga), perlakuan B (perlakuan dengan garam Cap Kerapan Sapi), Perlakuan C (perlakuan menggunakan garam Koki), dan perlakuan D (Perlakuan menggunakan air laut) tidak berpengaruh terhadap daya tetas kista Artemia sp. Kualitas air selama penelitian masih dalam batas optimal untuk penetasan kista Artemia sp. This study aims to determine the hatchability of Artemia sp. in water with artificial salinity using different types of salt. Calculation of hatchability of the cyst of Artemia sp using graphimetric methods. Experimentas were conducted with completely randomized design (CRD) by 4 treatments and 3 replications. The results of the analysis of variance showed that there was no significant difference (F> 0.05) on the hatchability of Artemia sp. These results indicate that the use of salt with treatment A (treatment with a ‘Cap Segitiga’ salt), treatment B (treatment with ‘Cap Sapi’ salt), Treatment C (treatment using ‘Cap Chef’ salt), and treatment D (Treatment using sea water) has no effect on hatchability of the cyst of Artemia sp. Water quality during the study was still within the optimal limits for hatching the cysts of Artemia sp. Katakunci : Artemia sp.; garam; salinitas buatan; daya tetas. Abstract

This study aims to determine the type of fungus and calculate the range of fungal colonies on sea algae Kappaphycus alvarezii by maintenance at different ages of 25 days, 35 days and 45 days. Samples taken from the District Anggrek, North Gorontalo District, Province Gorontalo. Method of data processing is descriptive and presentation of data in a frequency distribution table. Methods of testing done by the identification of marine algae samples in the laboratory of Fish Quarantine Station Class I Djalaluddin Gorontalo. The results showed that the fungus identified in the Sea Algae Kappaphycus alvarezii, are Rizhopus sp, Aureobasidium pullulans, Mucor sp and Fusarium sp. The range of fungal colonies on Sea Algae Kappaphycus alvarezii at the age of 25 days by the dilution factor, namely the 4000 colony 10-3, 10-4 and 10-5 of 80,000 colonies are 100,000 colonies, then at the age of 35 days with a 10-3 dilution factor of 1000 colonies , 10-4 ie 40,000 colonies and at the age of 45 days by the dilution factor yaitu7000 colony 10-3, 10-4 and 10-5 of 10,000 colonies are 500,000 colonies. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perendaman benih ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus) yang terinfeksi Trichodina sp. menggunakan larutan daun sirih (Piper betle) dengan dosis berbeda terhadap sintasan benih ikan nila. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) menggunakan ANOVA dengan 4 perlakuan dan masing-masing 3 kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perendaman benih ikan nila yang terinfeksi Trichodina sp. menggunakan larutan daun sirih dengan dosis berbeda berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap sintasan benih ikan nila. Dosis larutan daun sirih terbaik untuk mengendalikan penyerangan Trichodina sp. yaitu pada perlakuan C sebanyak 4 gram/liter dan sintasan benih ikan nila terbaik juga terdapat pada perlakuan C sebesar 66,67%. Hasil Uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) diperoleh pada setiap perlakuan berbeda nyata. This study aims to determine the effect of immersion of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) seeds infected with Trichodina sp. using a betel leaf solution (Piper betle) with different doses to the survival of tilapia seeds. This research is using experimental method. The design used in the study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) using ANOVA with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The results showed that immersion of tilapia seeds infected with Trichodina sp. using betel leaf solution with different dosages has a very significant effect on the survival of tilapia seeds. The best dosage of betel leaf solution to control the attack of Trichodina sp. that is, in treatment C as much as 4 grams/liter and the best survival rate of tilapia fish is also in treatment C of 66.67%. The Smallest Significant Difference Test (LSD) obtained for each treatment was significantly different. Abstract

This study aims to determine the duration of soaking of curcuma (Curcuma xanthorriza roxb) powder on the survival of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) seeds infected with Aeromonas hydrophilla bacteria. This study was an experiment with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with four treatments and three repetitions. The treatments used were curcuma powder immersion, which were treatments A (3 minutes), B (5 minutes), C (7 minutes) and D (Control). The results showed that different soaking time using ginger powder did not affect the survival of tilapia seeds. The best treatment is treatment A (3 minutes) with a survival rate of 86.67%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine effective and efficient koi fish spawning techniques and to determine the reproductive stages and fish behavior during spawning, as well as to identify problems in the spawning process. The procedure of this research consists of several stages, namely: Spawning Container Preparation, Parent Selection, Parent Release, Spawning Process, Quality of Spawning Water, Egg Counting. The results showed that natural spawning techniques were more effective and efficient. The size and weight of the fish are very influential for the number of eggs to be produced. One of the factors that support the success of a spawning is the selection to get good quality broodstock resulting in a high number of seed production. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh padat peneberan yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan benih ikan lele sangkuriang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan tiga perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan, Eksperimen yang digunakan dalam pelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Selanjutnya dilakukan uji lanjut menggunakan Uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) dengan tingkat kepercayaan 99%. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa pada setiap perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata. Pertumbuhan panjang dan berat tertinggi ditunjukkan pada perlakuan A sebesar 2.3 cm dan 1.66 g, disusul perlakuan B 2.0 cm dan 1.53 g, dan terendah pada perlakuan C sebesar 1.8 cm dan 1.36 g. Kelangsungan hidup benih ikan lele sangkuriang pada semua perlakuan selama penelitian sebesar 100%. Kata kunci : Benih, ikan lele sangkuriang, padat penebaran, pertumbuhan

Abstract

The Gorontalo province to the Northern part and South was restricted the area of the coast and sea that were big resources of fisheries nature. Some that could be developed were the cultivation of sea algae. The aim of this research was to identifity all the brown algae kind that was found in the Gorontalo Province. The method that was used that is exploration survey method to identify all the species of brown algae that were found at any area and without transect. After wards specimen were washed clean and photographed with digital camera. Result shows three different algae found either at north coast and south coast of Gorontalo Province, namely at Gentuma Village and Leato Village. The species found are: Sargassum polycystum, Sargassum cristaefolium and Sargassum cristaefolium.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan mikroba yang terdapat pada permen alga laut Kappaphycus alvarezii selama masa penyimpanan. Kegiatan penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Pengujian dan Pembinaan Mutu Hasil Perikanan Provinsi Gorontalo pada Bulan Oktober 2013 sampai Desember 2013. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimen dan uji mikroba ALT dan kapang di laboratorium. Data hasil pengujian diolah secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permen soba alga laut yang disimpan selama 5 hari pada pengujian angka lempeng total jumlah koloni yang diperoleh yaitu 4 x 102 kol/g, pada penyimpanan selama 15 hari jumlah koloni yang diperoleh yaitu 8 x 102 kol/g dan 25 hari 1,3 x 103 kol/g, sedangkan untuk uji kapang pada penyimpanan 5 dan 15 hari tidak ditemukan kapang dan pada penyimpanan 25 hari jumlah kapang yang diperoleh yaitu 1 x 101 kol/g. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Balai Benih Ikan (BBI) Kota Gorontalo pada tanggal 19 Desember 2013. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk Mengetahui pengaruh salinitas yang berbeda terhadap daya tetas kista Artemia sp dan mengetahui salinitas yang terbaik terhadap daya tetasnya. Daya tetas kista Artemia sp diuji dengan salinitas yang berbeda yang diinkubasi selama 24 jam, dengan Perlakuan A salinitas 30 ppt, Perlakuan B salinitas 40 ppt, dan Perlakuan C salinitas 50 ppt. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: Perlakuan A dengan HP= 56.77 %, Perlakuan B dengan Hp= 40.37 % dan pada Perlakuan C dengan HP= 29.30 % dengan padat penebaran masing-masing 2g/l. Hasil Penetasan kista Artemia sp terbaik yaitu terdapat pada Perlakuan A. Setelah dilakukan uji ANOVA satu jalur yang dilanjutkan dengan uji Tukey diperoleh data yang menunjukan adanya perbedaan sangat nyata antara perlakuan terhadap daya tetas Artemia sp, yakni Fhitung > Ftabel (38824.597 > 5.14).
