Abstract

Online learning is one of education methods that uses internet access and technological devices as a medium of communication between teachers and students. The teacher can use online learning during a pandemic that requires students and teachers to do physical distancing or during the industrial revolution 4.0 that implements technology in various fields of life. Online learning has several advantages and disadvantages, especially concerning the student conditions and learning effectiveness. This research was a literature review of the teacher’s strategy to achieve successful online learning. Teachers need to develop strategies for successful online learning. Teachers can use audio-visual show to attract students' interests, not give too many assignments, and provide contextual tasks that are relevant to students’ daily life. Guidance and counseling teachers can carry out preventive services in collaboration with school principals and teachers to collect data of students who do not have access to technology devices. The teacher also could conduct online group discussions to increase students’ interaction and reduce boredom learning. Furthermore, the teacher could implement curative services through online counseling services to overcome problems in online learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a social acceptance module to improve social acceptance skills for Yogyakarta State University students. The research was conducted with a research and development approach. The research subjects involved were 50 students of Yogyakarta State University. Data collection techniques in this study used open questionnaires, closed questionnaires, and interviews. The data analysis technique used descriptive quantitative. The results of this study indicate that 88% of students think it is necessary to develop a module to overcome the low social acceptance among students of Yogyakarta State University. This study compiled a prototype of a hypothetical module containing social acceptance, factors influencing social acceptance, and developing social acceptance skills. The social acceptance module was declared feasible by material and media experts to be used by Yogyakarta State University students. The module in this research is expected to be an alternative media to increase social acceptance for Yogyakarta State University students. Pengembangan Modul Penerimaan Sosial untuk Meningkatkan Penerimaan Sosial pada MahasiswaPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul penerimaan sosial untuk meningkatkan keterampilan penerimaan sosial bagi mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan research and development. Subjek penelitian yang dilibatkan adalah 50 orang mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner terbuka, kuesioner tertutup, dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data menggunakan kuantitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 88% mahasiswa yang memandang perlu dikembangkannya modul untuk mengatasi rendahnya penerimaan sosial di kalangan mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini berhasil menyusun prototipe modul hipotetik yang berisi pengertian penerimaan sosial, faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi penerimaan sosial, dan mengembangkan keterampilan penerimaan sosial. Modul penerimaan sosial dinyatakan layak oleh ahli materi dan media untuk digunakan pada mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Modul yang diharapkan dalam penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif media untuk meningkatkan penerimaan sosial pada mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Students as prospective counsellors need to understand the theory of counselling approaches well to carry out effective counselling practicums. This study aims to develop a mobile learning design for a cognitive counselling approach to improve counselling skills in students. This type of research is research and development. The data collection technique used a questionnaire to determine student and lecturer perceptions of mobile learning media in learning. The sample in this study were 116 students and 38 lecturers of guidance and counselling in Indonesia who were selected using a simple random sampling technique. The results showed that 22.4% of students thought that mobile learning could help the learning process of the counselling approach, and 54% of lecturers thought that mobile learning was needed in learning activities. The mobile learning cognitive counselling approach is a website-based media consisting of 9 features: landing page, login page, initial test, material, final test, chat room, record, developer profile, and contact. The developed mobile learning has been validated by media experts and is declared suitable for learning activities. The researcher tested the effectiveness of mobile learning on 14 students of Yogyakarta State University. The data analysis used the Wilcoxon signed-ranked test and showed the p-value at 0,0000,005, which means that mobile learning effectively improves students' understanding of counselling approaches. Mobile learning contributes as a novelty in guidance and counselling as an innovative media that can be used in the university to deliver content for students in guidance and counselling study programs
