Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan proses sains siswa dan mendeskripsikan respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran model pembelajaran berbasis masalah pada materi zat aditif di kelas VIII Negeri 40 Surabaya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi, metode tes, dan metode angket. Observasi berupa data keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, tes berupa data pretest dan posttest, angket berupa respon siswa. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-F dan VIII-G SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya yang berjumlah masing-masing kelas 30 siswa. Berdasarkan pengamatan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah pada kelas VIII-F dan VIII-G memperoleh skor rata-rata yang sama, pada pertemuan pertama skor rata-rata sebesar 3,8,  pertemuan kedua skor rata-rata sebesar 3,9 dan keduanya masuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Keterampilan proses sains siswa mengalami peningkatan terbukti dari hasil pretest dan posttest yang meningkat. Berdasarkan persentase N-Gain peningkatan keterampilan proses sains kelas VIII-F dan VIII-G memperoleh hasil yang sama sebesar 66,7% termasuk kriteria tinggi dan 33,3% termasuk kriteria sedang. Siswa kelas VIII-F dan VIII-G memberikan respon sangat baik sebesar 85% terhadap pembelajaran berbasis masalah pada materi zat aditif. Kesimpulan penelitian ini pada penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya.   Kata kunci: Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah, Keterampilan Proses Sains Siswa, Zat Aditif.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the design and implementation of diagnostic assessments in 3 junior high schools based on school quality categories. The research design used a qualitative descriptive. Subjects in this study were teachers in natural science subjects at 3 junior high schools in Menganti, Gresik. The selection of this school was based on the school quality category, namely SMP Negeri 29 Gresik with A accreditation, SMP Sunan Giri Menganti with A accreditation, and MTs Salafiyah Menganti Gresik with B accreditation. This research method used a qualitative descriptive method using a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. on google form media. The data analysis technique in this study used namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results in this study are that all-Natural Science subject teachers in all these schools have implemented a diagnostic assessment before the learning process during the Covid -19pandemic and are in accordance with the rules of the Ministry of Education and Culture 2020. The design of diagnostic assessment carried out by teacher is in the form of test sheets and interviews. to students. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation and diagnostic design are not based on good quality schools, but depend on the teacher's understanding the importance of this assessment which makes science teachers in the 3 schools implement diagnostic assessments with the aim of helping students better understand the material and support achievement. learning objectives during the Covid -19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the science module developed by the Directorate of Junior High Schools in distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII-D and VIII-E MTsN 2 Kediri. The number of students in class VIII-D was 31 students and class VIII-E was 32 students. The method used in this research is a research method pre-experimental with a one-shot case study design. Data collection techniques used in this study were tests and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The effectiveness of the developed modules in terms of the percentage of classical completeness, students 'learning completeness seen from the indicators of competency achievement, and students' responses related to the developed modules. The instruments used were test sheets and questionnaire sheets. The results obtained in this study are that the developed module is effective in terms of the percentage of classical completeness of 83.87% for class VIII-D and 84.37% for class VIII-E. Completeness based on the competency achievement indicators, students succeeded in achieving 5 indicators of competency achievement from the total number of 6 indicators of competency achievement indicators, and the students' responses were very good. The conclusion of this study is that the module developed by the Directorate of Junior High Schools was effectively applied to distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic as a medium for independent learning.

Abstract

The low critical thinking skills of students in Indonesia, which can be seen from the international scale learning outcomes and the lack of facilities for students to think critically well, illustrates that training students' critical thinking skills become urgent. The purpose of this research was describe the achievement of students' critical thinking skills in terms of each critical thinking indicator and as a whole based on the category of critical thinking ability levels and student responses to Edmodo e-learning learning on Heat and Transfer material. This research method is a pre-experimental design with a One-Shot Case Study design. The results showed that the critical thinking of the students for each indicator of critical thinking was in a good category. Critical thinking indicators used are elementary clarification, basic support, inference, advance clarification, and strategies and tactics. The overall critical thinking ability of students based on the level category of critical thinking skills varies with details that 12.50% of students are classified as very good, 53.13% of students are in a good category,31.25%,of student are in the moderate category, 3.13% of students are categorized as bad, and 0% of students are in the very bad category. Student responses to Edmodo's e-learning learning on Heat and Transfer material received positive responses.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of describing the effectiveness of mind mapping strategy in science learning during the pandemic. The research design used One Shot Case Study. This research was conducted on 31 students from two classes, there are class VIII A and class VIII C at SMP Negeri 2 Mojosari. The results of data collection were analyzed using the average value of the posttest questions and the results of the scores in class VIII A were 81 and VIII C was 88 so that the average value of the two classes was 84.5. The results of the scores to achieve the criteria for the conceptual understanding indicator based on the aspect of understanding such as the indicator interpreting the highest value of 58 and the lowest of 50, exemplifying the highest value of 59 and the lowest of 56, classifying the highest value of 54 and the lowest of 53, summarizing the highest value of 61 and the lowest is 56, inferring the highest value is 48 and the lowest is 46, comparing the highest value of 51 and the lowest of 45 and explaining the highest value of 64 and the lowest of 57 and the percentage value of completeness that is seen based on the calculation of the percentage of indicators of understanding the concept of class VIII A a percentage of 52% and class VIII C obtained a percentage value of 56% with the completeness category quite effective. The completeness value of science subjects is 73, therefore grades VIII A and VIII C have exceeded the standard of KKM values and it is also proven that the mind mapping strategy is effective enough to be carried out in distance or online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The conclusion from this study is that the mind mapping strategy is very effective in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic on the material of the human digestive system.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of knowing the level of representation of Science Process Skills (SPS) in the seventh, eighth and ninth grade science electronic schoolbooks published by the Center for Curriculum and Books. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with coding system. The objects in this study were the Class VII, VIII and IX IPA Electronic School Books (BSE) with the criteria for the 2013 curriculum books published by the Center for Curriculum and Books in the form of electronic books. The instrument used in this study was the observation sheet used to analyze the availability of aspects of Science Process Skills. The data analysis technique used iscontent analysis. The results from this study are indicators of science process skills (SPS) which are available in different books. In the three books, the most common indicator is data interpretation with an average percentage of 87.63%, then formulating hypotheses with an average percentage of 8.26%, designing experiments with an average percentage of 3.42%, and for indicators formulate a problem with an average percentage of 1.6%. Suggestions from researchers are books to be published should contain a better indicator of a science process skills integrated at a greater proportion than a basic science proses skills to identify a science process skill a a junior high school level before heading for the higher ranks.

Abstract

Abstrak Makalah ini memaparkan langkah-langkah dalam pengembangan instrumen motivasi belajar, khususnya terkait dengan penentuan aspek-aspek motivasi belajar fisika yang dapat digunakan sebagai dasar dalam merumuskan indikator-indikator motivasi belajar tersebut. Adapun aspek-aspek motivasi belajar yang digunakan sebagai dasar dalam pengembangan instrumen motivasi tersebut, meliputi: Choice of tasks, Effort, Persistence, dan Self-confidence. Berdasarkan keempat aspek motivasi tersebut, selanjutnya dirumuskan indikator-indikator motivasi belajar fisika. Akhirnya, indikator-indikator itulah yang dipakai sebagai dasar untuk merumuskan butir-butir pernyataan dalam suatu angket sebagai instrumen untuk mengukur motivasi belajar fisika. Instrumen motivasi belajar tersebut berupa angket dengan menggunakan skala Likert. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, ternyata instrumen motivasi belajar fisika yang dikembangkan ini memiliki nilai keterbacaan Baik, validitas isi juga Baik, bahkan dapat dikatakan Sangat Baik, yaitu dengan nilai 4,52 dari nilai maksimal 5. Sedangkan derajat reliabilitasnya Sangat Tinggi, yaitu dengan ditunjukkan oleh nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,948. Derajat reliabilitas instrumen tersebut diperoleh dengan metode test-retest dengan tenggang waktu antara pengambilan data I dan data II yaitu selama dua minggu.Kata Kunci: choice of tasks, effort, persistence, self-confidence, motivasi belajar.

Abstract

Scientific literacy skills about the plague were needed during the Covid-19 pandemic. Students who previously studied at school now have to spend a lot of time at home studying. They are then primarily very dependant on the internet to get valuable information of academic purposes. However, concerns arise that massive access to information online has created problems with understanding Covid-19 which eventually may risk their attitude. Therefore, this study aims to analyze scientific literacy of students against the ongoing outbreak in terms of the contents. The research employs ADDIE model due to its compactness towards its process. The stages reflect the process of developing, studying, and implementing contagion literacy assessment products for junior high school students. The instrument design procedure consisted of literature study, development of test items, internal validation, and pilot project. The feasibility will be reviewed from the results of the validity and reliability. The data to be collected in this research are quantitative and qualitative data related to the validity and reliability. The results of the face validity test from three experts show that the questions arranged in the literacy instrument are considered valid with minor revision in terms of materials and construction. The pilot project, however, showed an opposite result. The instrument was scored invalid because 14 out of 20 questions were invalid. The influencing factor found was students was not ready to read long passage or data in digital format. Transmission, prevention, and treatment are the issues in which student are familiar with. Overall, the instrument was sufficient to observe what students know and needs much revision in terms of format.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effectiveness application model discovery learning -based mobile virtual laboratory on simple aircraft material to improving student’s basic science process skills, learning implementation and student response questionnaires. The type of research was pre-experimental with one group pretest posttest as the design. The research subjects were students of grade VIII I SMPN 16 Surabaya totaling 39 students. The research instruments were in the form of test sheets for basic science process skills, observation sheets for the implementation of discovery learning, and student response questionnaire sheets. Data collection techniques were carried out using test, observation, and questionnaire methods. The data analysis technique uses quantitative descriptive. The implementation of learning both the first and second meetings obtained percentage of 93.75%-100% with each meeting included very good category. There is increase in basic science process skills in terms of the average pretest and posttest results of 45.38 to 83.21 with classical completeness on the posttest 94.87% and the acquisition N-gain score of 0.70 which included in the medium category. In the student response questionnaire for all statement items including very good category of the average student response answers are in the interval above 3.41 to 4.21 from the highest scale worth 5. The conclusion is learning with the model discovery learning based on mobile virtual laboratory can improve basic science process skills and get a positive response from students.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of the application of guided inquiry-based students’ worksheets in practicing critical thinking skills on water pollution material. The type of research used is pre-experimental with one group pretest posttest design method. The research instrument used was a pretest posttest sheet, and a questionnaire. The subjects of this research were students of VII-A of SMPN 1 Deket Lamongan with a total of 29 students. The results in this study were based on an increase in the pretest posttest score. The average score of n-gain pretest posttest is 0,7 with moderate criteria. Increasing the percentage of critical thinking indicator, analyzing arguments from 25% to 73% with sufficient criteria, observing and writing down the result from 72% to 92% with very good criteria, making further explanations from 29% to 67% with sufficient criteria, and concluding from 14% to 75% with sufficient criteria. The average result of the percentage of completeness is 77% in the goog category and the average increase in the percentage of completeness of the critical thinking indicator gets a score of 2 with high criteria and students response questionnaires obtained result of 78% in the strong category. Thus, guided inquiry-based worksheets can train students critical thinking skills.
