Abstract

There are variations in x-ray beam angulation applied in examining lumbosacral joint lateral projection, both theoretical and practical. According to Clark (1973) examination of lumbosacral joint lateral projection uses beam direction of 0 °, Ballinger (1999) stated that x-ray beam is directed 5 º to 8 º caudally and Bontrager (2001) ranging from 5 º to 10 º to the caudally. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of x-ray beam angulation to radiographic anatomical criteria and to find the most appropriate x-ray beam angulation to achieve good radiographic anatomical criteria conducted in examining lumbosacral joint lateral projections using x-ray beam angulation of 0 º, 5 º, 10 º and 15 º caudally. The study was experimental with observational method approach.  Observation is done by examining lumbosacral joint lateral projections with the variations of x-ray beam angulations of 0 º, 5 º, 10 º and 15 º caudally. The data is collected by conducting tests, and spreading questionnaires (check list). There are 15 observers in spreading questionnaires.  Radiographic results are recorded as experimental documents.  Methods of data analysis used descriptive analysis by simple regression and crosstab data. Data are codified and categorized then. The results of this research showed that there are positive significant and correlation between x-ray beam angulation variations of 0º, 5º, 10º, 15º caudally to the radiographic anatomical criteria produced on examining lumbosacral joint lateral projection.  It is indicated by p value = 0.016 (<0.05), means Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The best x-ray beam angulation is 15º caudally.  This angulation can produce good radiographic anatomical criteria.   Key words:  lumbosacral joint, lateral projection, x-ray beam angulation of  0 º, 5 º, 10 º and 15 º, radiographic anatomical criteria

Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF PULSE GATING APLICATION ON IMAGE OF CAROTID ARTERIES ON MAGNETIC RESONANCE ANGIOGRAPHY EXAMINATION USE 0.3 TESLA MRI APPARTUS AT TELOGOREJO HOSPITAL IN SEMARANGMagmetic resonance angiography (MR Angiography) is a sequence of MRI examination to study blood vascular system with or without introduce of contrast agent. Carotid arteries, part of blood vascular system commonly studied by doing MRA exam. Time of Flight (TOF), one of the methods of MRA exam that can be perform blood vessels or flowing spin as a bright image, without introduce contrast agent into blood vessels. Pulse gating application on carotid arteries MR Angiography exam  reduces cardiac pulsation effect, So the image looks better. The purpose of the research to findout the influence of pulse gating aplicationon on carotid arteries image of MRA exam use 0.3 Tesla MRI apparatus at Telogorejo hospital in Semarang. Type of the research is pre-experiment with descriptive methode. Data collected by doing MRA exam of extra cranial carotid arteries on a volunteer in Telogorejo hospital, with and without pulse gating application. Conspicuity of images appears by measuring Signal to Noise Ratio and Contrast to Noise Ratio on image of flowing spin of carotid arteries and supported by opinion of five Radiologists in Semarang. Data analysis use statistic procedure and descriptive methode. Measuring SNR use software of computer of MRI unit and CNR value obtained by reducing SNR value of flowing spin with SNR value of stationary spin. The result of the research shown that application of pulse gating influence the quality of image on MRA carotid arteries.   Key word :  Carotid arteries, pulse gating, image quality, 0.3 Tesla.

Abstract

This research is conducted in Department of Radiology Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang.  The purpose is to know the influence of kV variation to uniformity CT number using Somatom Emotion CT Scan Unit. The type of this research is experimental research using analytic study.  The experiment is conducted by scanning water phantom 3 (three) times by using kV variations (80 kV, 110 kV, 130 kV). Three slices were made for every kV.  CT Number Rate is measured using ROI software.  ROI Width used is about 2-3 cm2 (± 200-300 pixels). The ROI located in the center scanning area and the surrounded area (clockwise) at 12, 3, 6 and 9. This research is conducted everyday for five days. The urgensi of this study is to ascertain uniformity CT number be in good condition, if its unstandart will difficult to differentiate attenuation coefficient to diagnosis a normaly or pathologis tissue. The result of measurement about CT number shown that the kV election at 80 kV, 110 kV and 130 kV the value of uniformity CT number is below  0±5 HU. The result of research is still in tolerance given by the manual operating book of Somatom Emotion CT Scan Unit.  The book stated that the value of HU water is about 0 to ±4.  it means that HU value started from - 4 up to 4.  It indicates that Somatom Emotion CT Scan Unit used in Department of Radiology Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang has good component in uniformity CT number according to standard. Interpretation result of hypothesis test based on correlation coefficient (r) is equal to 0,473. It is still in the range of 0,25 ≤ r < 0,5 which means the correlation is low. The value – 0,473 (negative) means that the correlation is contradictive. Where the increase of kV value will lead to decrease of noise (CT number fluctuation). It is also mean that uniformity CT number near to 0 (zero), which means the CT number is more uniform. The value of coefficient Determinance ( r²) is 0,224 ( 22,4 %) which means the influence between the increase of kV value to uniformity CT number is equel to 22,4%, the rest Of 77,6% is influenced by the other factors. Abstract

ABSTRAKPemanfaatan film badge pada pekerja radiologi di rumah sakit umum di Jawa Tengah dan Bali tahun 2003 menunjukkan bahwa 12% tidak memiliki film badge, 18% jarang memakai film badge, 34% kurang percaya terhadap hasil pencatatan film badge. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis praktik penggunaan film badge di Instalasi Radiologi Rumah Sakit di Kota Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain cross sectional study. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Sampel adalah total populasi yaitu 73 orang. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat variabel paling dominan yang mempengaruhi praktik penggunaan film badge yaitu persepsi radiografer tentang peraturan penggunaan film badge. Jika persepsi radiografer tentang peraturan penggunaan film badge baik maka mempunyai peluang sebesar 6,160 kali untuk melakukan praktik penggunaan film badge dari pada persepsi radiografer tentang peraturan penggunaan film badge yang kurang baik.Kata Kunci : radiografer, peraturan, praktik penggunaan film badge.ABSTRACTBadge Film Practical Utilization in Radiology Installation at Hospital in Semarang; Use of badge film from radiographer at hospital in Central Java and Bali at 2003 shows that 12% not possessing badge film, 18% rarely using badge film, 34% lack of trust in badge film recording result. The aim of this research is to analyze badge film practical use in radiology installation at hospital in Semarang. This research uses quantitative approach with cross sectional study design. Data collecting technique uses questionnaire. Sample is total population comprising 73 persons. The result there is most dominant variable influences badge film practical use i.e.: radiografert perception in regulation of badge film use, 6.160 of avalibility of badge film practical are not good.Keywords : radiographer, regulation, badge film practical use.

Abstract

Abstract

Rancang bangun alat bantu fiksasi pada pemeriksaan columna vertebrae cervical untuk proyeksi RPO dan LPO berdiri dilatarbelakangi terjadinya kesulitan memposisikan pasien dalam posisi oblik dengan sudut 45o. Tujuan penelitian memudahkan posisi dan kenyamanan pasien sehingga menghasilkan radiograf yang optimal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan kuantitatif deskriptif pendekatan eksperimen eksploratif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan merancang, menggunakan dan uji fungsi alat bantu fiksasi dilakukan secara langsung pada pasien di Instalasi Radiologi RSUD Kota Semarang dengan 5 radiografer (responden). Hasil penelitian alat bantu fiksasi pada pemeriksaan columna vertebrae cervical untuk proyeksi oblik berdiri berupa rangka, sandaran kepala, bidang segitiga, tempat kaset, pengunci bucky stand, pengunci sandaran kepala dan pengunci bidang segitiga. Hasil uji kelayakan alat bantu fiksasi sebesar 93,33% bahwa alat bantu fiksasi layak digunakan pada pemeriksaan cervical khususnya proyeksi RPO dan LPO berdiri. Saran sebaiknya perlu dikembangkan dalam pembatasan pergerakan pasien yang maksimal dan penggunaan untuk pasien yang non kooperatif.?Kata Kunci :???????? rancang bangun, alat bantu fiksasi, columna vertebrae cervical, proyeksi RPO dan LPO berdiri

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang sternoclavicular joint yang kasus cedera sternoclavicular joint juga jarang terjadi. Teknik pemeriksaan sternoclavicular joint dengan indikasi dislokasi dengan proyeksi postero anterior metode Hobbs View di Instalasi Radiologi Rumah Sakit Ortopedi Prof. DR. R Soeharso Surakarta. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan teknik pemeriksaan sternoclavicular joint metode Hobbs View dan untuk menjelaskan efektifitas penggunaan proyeksi Hobbs View dalam menegakkan diagnosaPenelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan cara mengambil data primer yaitu hasil observasi, wawancara dari dokter pengirim, radiografer, dan dokter spesialis radiologi, data sekunder berupa lembar permintaan, hasil bacaan dokter, rekam medis, dan hasil radiograf. Setelah semua data terkumpul, dilakukan reduksi, kuotasi dan pengolahan data, kemudian ditarik kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian diperoleh teknik yang digunakan dalam pemeriksaan sternoclavicular joint dengan indikasi dislokasi di Instalasi Radiologi Rumah Sakit Ortopedi Prof. DR. R. Soeharso Surakarta adalah proyeksi Hobbs View. Keefektifan dari proyeksi Hobbs view adalah dapat menampilkan gambaran sternoclavicular joint secara lebih jelas, memastikan adanya dislokasi sternoclavicular joint, serta menentukan posisi atau jenis dari dislokasi tersebut?Kata kunci : Teknik pemeriksaan, jenis dislokasi, keefektifan proyeksi Hobbs View.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan pengujian kolimator menggunakan metode kawat ?L? yang belum pernah dilakukan uji fungsi ulang pada pesawat Hitachi Tipe ZU-L3TY di Instalasi Radiologi Rumah Sakit Permata Medika Semarang. Pengujian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesesuaian luas lapangan cahaya kolimator dengan luas lapangan berkas sinar-X.Jenis penelitian ini adalah menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan eksperimental. Pengujian kesesuaian luas lapangan cahaya kolimator dengan luas lapangan berkas sinar-X dilakukan pada pesawat Hitachi ZU-L3TY di Instalasi Radiologi Rumah Sakit Permata Medika Semarang menggunakan metode kawat ?L? dilakukan dengan menggunakan FFD 100 cm dengan luas lapangan cahaya ukuran luas yang lebih kecil dari pada luas kaset. Data dan hasil pengujian ditabulasi, kemudian dianalisa.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesesuaian luas lapangan cahaya kolimator dengan luas lapangan berkas sinar-X pada pesawat Hitachi ZU-L3TY menunjukkan bahwa ada pergeseran sebesar 2,33% dan penyempitan luas lapangan sebesar 0,66%. Ketidaksesuaian rata-rata terjadi pada sumbu horisontal (x1 + x2) pada pengujian 1, 2, 3 adalah 2,33 cm dengan persentase 2,33%, sedangkan pada sumbu vertikal (y1 + y2) adalah 0,66 cm dengan persentase 0,66%. Penyimpangan yang terjadi pada FFD 100 cm lebih dari 1 mm atau sudah melewati batas toleransi 1% dari FFD.?Kata kunci : Kolimator, Kesesuaian, Kawat ?L?
