Abstract

Abstract: Counseling for the Academically Gifted Children. The number of academically gifted children is quite high distributed in all areas. The academically gifted children will be benefecial for themselves and other people, if they can develop optimally. There are many academically gifted children who are succesful in their life; however we can find some who are in difficulty. They need counseling services. There are some important issues in counseling, especially for the academically gifted children, such as: (1) divergent thinker, (2) excitability, (3) sensitivity, (4) perceptiveness, (5) entelechy. (6) self-concept, (7) counseling with parents, and (8) underachievement. To help them face important issues, social-personal counseling, academic counseling, and career counseling are necessary. These three counseling approaches can be conducted simultaneously, depending on their needs. The models and strategies of counseling for the academically gifted children are therapeutic, preventive, and developmental models. The choice of models is strongely determined by the need of effective counseling, in order to achieve the optimal result. To establish the effective counseling, it is necessary that counseling services should be conducted by professional counselors. Keywords: counseling, academically gifted children

Abstract

Abstract: A Development Guidance Model to Improve Academically GiftedChildrens Social-Personal Skills. This study intended to investigate theeffectiveness of personal-social guidance programs for Academically GiftedStudents (AGS). This study was a research and development study. The researchsubjects were 80 senior high students. The data were collected using an inventoryand rating scales. The quantitative data were analyzed by the the descriptive andinferential statistical techniques, i.e. percentile, t-test and ANOVA, and thequalitative data by the descriptive technique. The results show that (1) the profileof personal-social skills among the AGS is very good, (2) the materials andimplementation of the Personal-Social Guidance Program Guide on the basis of theDevelopment Model is an appropriate alternative model that can increase theAGSs personal-social skills, (3) the Personal-Social Guidance Program Guide onthe basis of the Developmental Model is empirically proven to be able to increasethe AGSs personal-social skills.Keywords: development guidance model, social-personal guidance, academicallygifted students

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the effectiveness of implementation Enrichment Model Renzulli Type III to increase learning outcome high achieving students grade V in SD 1 Trirenggo at theme 8 the matter  of IPA. This research used quantitative approach with quasi experimental research type. The research design used was one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of the study used three high achieving science students of grade V elementary school. Data collection using tests, observations, and documentations. Analysis of data used using non parametric statistics Type Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test. The results of the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test results obtained T count = 0 (α = 0,05), then T count ≤ Tα and H0 rejected and Ha accepted. This means that Enrichment Model Renzulli Type III is effective to improve learning outcome of the high achieving science students of class V elementary school in SD 1 Trirenggo. The effectiveness of Enrichment Model Renzulli Type  III is indicated by an increase in the score of pre-test and post-test results. The average pre-test score is 45 and average post-test score is 74.67. Where there is a score increase of 29.67%.

Abstract

This study attemps to know the effectiveness guided inquiry learning method  towards science learning outcomes of fourth grade high achieving students on theme 8 at SD 1 Trirenggo. The study use a kind of quasi experiment with a quantitative approch with one group pretest and posttest design. The subject were 4 high achieving students of fourth grade at SD 1 Trirenggo. The technique of data collection use a test, observation, and documentation. Data analysis in this study with quantitative decription statistic. The result of this study indicates the increased value posttest that having given guided inquiry learning method treatment. The result of each subject in increasing on the subject ALF increased of 65 be 80 with a good criteria, subjek FDL increased value of 55 be 75 with enough criteria, subjek MYL increased value of 75 be 85 with good criteria, and subject SFD increased value of 60 be 80 with good criteria. The increase shows that guided inquiry learning method effective againts the science learning outcomes of fourth grade high achieving students on theme 8 at SD 1 Trirenggo

Abstract

The aim of this study was to describe of gifted student’s learning style based on the Kolb model learning style in the form of divergers, assimilators, convergers and accommodators and career choice among gifted students. The aspects examined in this study was career choice based on the learning style of the "KOLB" model. The subjects of the study were gifted students in3rdgrade class of senior high school. The data collection of the study used a non-test technique in the form of a questionnaire. The method of data analysis uses descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that 10 students had an assimilation learning style, 7 students had diverger learning styles, 6 students had learning styles and no students had an accommodating learning style. The results of the study show that the majority of sgifted students are able to make career selection decisions that are congruent with the learning style even though the interests of the career fields of gifted students are still very diverse.

Abstract

Every family hopes to build harmony family, happy family, and mutual loving each others. Infact, there are several violences that happen in family life either physically, psychologically, sexually, or emotionally. The violence in family because of intemal and extemal factors either individually or collectively. In particular in the age of information nowadays the violence cultures emerges by information that producing by media, both printed media and electronic media, the condition tends to influence the development of children, so that they can not grow naturally, they can not reach high score in their school. Hence, it needs to be conducted psychologically, educatively, preventively, and curatively toward the cases that happen in family life, especially the victims and society in general.
