Abstract

Abstract : Academic ability is  a description of students level of knowledge or ability of a material that has been studied. The research method used is learning model ARIAS treatment. This study aims to determine the increase of the learning outcomes of biology. The resuls show that academic skills of students increased from low to medium or good and well improve of the 26%. The results of biological studies also increased in pre-cycle to cycle of 8% and from cycle I to cycle II at 26%. It can be concluded that the ARIAS learning model can increase students’ academic skill and biology result. Key Words : ARIAS method, academic skills, and learning outcomes

Abstract

Abstract : The learning of biology practical works is the process of effective learning to achieve the three objectives simultaneously, those are; improving cognitive skills, affective skills, and psycomotoric skills. This research aims to analyze the relationship between teachers strategies in the development of design learning biology practical activity and achivement of student learning outcomes. The research method is research method survey. Classically, the results of syllabus quality is 84% and lesson plan was 79.1%, and the strategy used is the experience learning and interactive. The results of students’ activity in the scale of score 1 up to score 4, the highest score that is score 3 was 47.69% and the highest score of the result of practical works activities and test that is “C” score (enough) was 65% and 59.3%. The relationship between teachers’ strategy and students’ achievement of practical works analyzed by using correlation shows that the result was not significant because (P) > 0.05. Abstract

Abstract : The learning biology requires the students’ participation, because as the biology is a scientificall science based on the logical thinkingof relevant facts. There is a component in learning biology that must be owned by the students. The studentshave to understand the scientific process as the result of learning.POE (predict-observe-explain) model is one of the lerning models that was used in teaching learning process, helped the students to establish the knowledge through the senses. Learning activities also require assessment because assessment was used to determine the indicator of success in teaching learning process. One of the scoring systems that has been developed was performance assessment. Performance assessment iskinds of tasks and situations in which the students are asked to demonstrate the understanding and application of knowledge deeply and skills in varieties of contexts. Based on explanation above, the researcher wanted to know the influence of the POE model to the performance assessment of the students’ learning outcomes for biology subject. In this research, the researcher used purposive sampling area to conduct the research. The researcher used population method to determine the subject of the research. The design of this research is quasi experimental study. The data collection methods used observation, interviews, test, and documentation. The data analysis used in this research was statistical analysis method to process the data. The result of this research showed that the application of the POE modelby using performance assessment affected the students learning outcomes.   Key Words: POE Model, learning outcomes

Abstract

Abstract.Index card match learning strategy is a learning strategy that ask the student to be active and design in order to emerge student creativity and self suprting in learning activity. This learning strategy related to recollect what student has learned and test the student knowledge and ability with looking to a pair of cards technique that will be the answer or question while learning a concept or topic in enjoyable situation. Index card match learning strategy is just recollect the materials that student has learned, so it need to fused with mind mapping technique. Mind mapping technique give an easy way to identity the materials clearly and cretively. This research using class action research method. Data analysis method for student character is descriptive, mean while, for learning result is comparison between re learning cycle, first learning cycle, and second learning cycle. Student character is improving from each learning cycle. Student learning result also has improvement in each learning cycle. Pre learning cycle result is 64,70%, first learning cycle result is 73,52%, and then second learning cycle result is 82,35%. Abstract

Abstract.Aedes aegypti L. mosquitos is vector that cause dengue fever. Control efforts by government using synthetic insecticides have a negative impact. Alternative control which is safer and environmentally friendly is the use of compounds derived from plants or referred to as a botanical insecticide. Plant that can be developed as a botanical insecticide is papaya (Carica papaya L.). Papaya leaves contain the papain enzyme, karpain alkaloids, glikosid, karposid and saponins. To determine the differences among extracted, boiled and immersion papaya (Carica papaya L.) toxicity on mortality of Aedes aegypti L. larvae, the research is conducted to obtain LC50 andLT50values of serial extracted, boiled and immersion papaya (Carica papaya L.) concentrations which is analyzed using Probit alisis. The amount of influencing extracted, boiled and immersion papaya (Carica papaya L.) on mosquito larvae mortality of A. aegypti L. was analyzed by using ANOVA. Based on the research results, it was revealed that there were significant differences between treatments by using extracted, boiled, and immersion papaya leaves on mortality of larvae of Aedes aegypti L.based on significance that is 0,000 (p<0,05). And if there are significant differences, it will be calculated by using Ducan test with a level of 95%. Based on the research results, it was revealed that there were significant differences between treatments by using extracted, boiled, and immersion papaya leaves on mortality of larvae of Aedes aegypti L.based on significance that is 0,000 (p<0,05). Abstract.Cooperative learningmodel of Numbered Head Together is a modelwhich putthe teamin thecooperationamongone of theanotherfor studyingatopicin the classroom. The purposeofthis researchwastoenhance student’s motivation andachievement using theCooperative Learning model of Numbered Head Together with comic onsub biologytopicsEnvironmental in class VII C SMP Negeri 1 Semboro Jember. The research was Classroom Action Research. Result of this research, there was an improving motivation from  pre cycle to cycle 2. The result  showed that the increasing  motivationwas 16,60% which consist of attentionaspects was 5,71(17.85%), relevanceaspects was4,14 (17,00%), confidenceaspects was 4,65(16,61%), satisfactionaspects was 4,79 (14,97%) andcognitivelearning achievement of studentsincreased 62,18%, andaffectivelearning achievementof studentsincreased 16,22%. Abstract

Abstract.This research is Classroom Action Research. Classroom Action Research (CAR) is a research which is done during the teaching and learning activities. The objective of CAR is to improve or to increase the quality of learning.Think Pair Share (TPS) is a simple cooperative learning model which lets the students learn individually and in group. The objectives of this research are to improve the students’ motivation and the students’ biology score through the application of cooperative learning model type Think Pair Share (TPS) by using website base at tenth year ofSMANegeri 2 Tanggul – Jember. The result of the application  Think PairShare learning model by using website base shows the improvement of student motivationthat is 39,31% consisting attention is 16,63%, relevance is 9,25%, confidence is 7,18%, and satisfaction 6,25%. Beside the improvement of cognitive aspect is 66,65%, and the afective aspect is 30,8%. Keywords:CAR, Think Pair Share, website, motivation, learning outcome

Abstract

Abstract. PAIKEM was a learning approach. GI (Group Investigation) was the example of PAIKEM. Group Investigation is a model which put students into heterogeneous groups with their different ability and background such as gender, ethnic, and religion to investigate toward topic discussion. The type of this research was CAR (Classroom Action Research). The purpose of this research was to increase students character and learning achivement using PAIKEM through GI. Result of this research, there wasan improving character from pre cycle until cycle 2 that was discipline character increased on MK (Start Consistent) with percentage 65%. Then responsibility character increased on MK (Start Consistent) with percentage 55%. Inquiring sense character worked up to MB (Start Growing) with percentage 67.5% and hard-working character increased on MB (Start Growing) with percentage 60% and cognitive learning achievement of students increased 40%, affective learning achievement of students increased 30% and psychomotor learning achievement of students increased 40%. Abstract

Abstrak Model pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (Problem Based Learning) merupakan kegiatan pembelajaran yang menuntut aktivitas mental siswa untuk memahami suatu konsep pembelajaran melalui situasi dan masalah yang disajikan  pada awal pembelajaran dengan tujuan untuk melatih siswa menyelesaikan masalah dengan menggunakan pendekatan pemecahan masalah. Model pembelajaran ini dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dalam mempelajari biologi, sehingga siswa dapat memperoleh manfaat yang maksimal baik dari proses maupun hasil belajarnya. Metode penelitian pada kelas kontrol menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional dan kelas eksperimen menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah (Problem Based Learning.). pemahaman konsep siswa dianalisis menggunakan ANAKOVA. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif dalam hal ini meliputi kefasihan, keluwesan, dan keaslian jawaban siswa dalam menjawab LKS. Perbedaan pemahaman konsep siswa dari hasil uji LSD menunjukkan beda rerata nilai kelas eksperimen terhadap kelas kontrol bernilai positif 15,997, dengan taraf signifikasi sebesar 0,000 (P = < 0,05). Hasil análisis kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa menunjukkan bahwa pada kelas ekperimen  tidak terdapat 0 (0%) siswa yang masuk dalam kriteria tidak kreatif (TK), sedangkan pada kelas kontrol terdapat 2  (5,4%) siswa. Pada kriteria kurang kreatif (KK)  terdapat 7 (18%) siswa  pada kelas ekperimen yang masuk didalamnya, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol terdapat 16 (43,2%) siswa. Pada kriteria berikutnya, yaitu kriteria cukup kreatif  (CK) terdapat 20 (53,7%) siswa pada kelas eksperimen yang masuk didalamnya, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol 14  (37,8%) siswa. Pada kriteria Kreatif  (K), terdapat 10 (27%) siswa pada kelas ekperimen yang masuk didalamnya, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol 5 (13,5,2%) siswa. Kriteria yang terakhir adalah kriteria sangat kreatif (SK), pada kriteria ini baik kelas ekperimen ataupun kelas kontrol tidak ada siswa yang masuk didalamnya. Kata Kunci : Pemahaman konsep siswa, Kemampun berpikir kreatif siswa, Model pembelajaran berbasis masalah.

Abstract

Abstrak FKIP sebagai pencetak tenaga kependidikan harus mampu membekali dan melatih calon tenaga pendidik menjadi seorang pendidik professional baik dari segi teori maupun praktek. Salah satu pelatihan itu melalui Program Pengalaman Lapangan (PPL). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar konsistensi implementasi syntax pembelajaran kooperatif mahasiswa PPL biologi dan adakah hubungannya dengan hasil belajar siswa SMPN Kabupaten Jember. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan survei dan untuk penggalian data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyebutkan bahwasanya tipe pembelajaran kooperatif yang digunakan responden adalah STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) sebanyak 35,7%, TGT (Teams Games Tournament) 28,6% dan NHT (Number Head Together) 35,7%. Untuk memaksimalkan hasil belajar, dilakukan beberapa penggabungan tipe pembelajaran kooperatif tersebut dengan teknik pembelajaran lain, diantaranya NHT dengan picture and picture, NHT dengan role playing, TGT dengan role playing dan STAD dengan example non example. Mahasiswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan TGT 100% memiliki tingkat konsistensi implementasi syntax tinggi. Tetapi, mahasiswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT, 80% tingkat konsistensi implementasi syntax tinggi dan 20% sisanya memiliki tingkat konsistensi implementasi syntax sedang. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat korelasi yang tidak signifikan (r =0,058; p=0,844) antara konsistensi implementasi syntax pembelajaran kooperatif pada mahasiswa PPL biologi terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Kata Kunci : syntax, pembelajaran kooperatif, mahasiswa PPL, hasil belajar.
