Abstract

This research has a purpose to describe the improvement of the competence inwriting scientific papers of grade XI-IA of SMA Negeri 9 Semarang by using inquiryelement. This research is a classroom action research by using Kemmis and Taggart’scycle theory. There are 2 cycles that consist of 4 steps each: planning, observing,action and reflection. The subject is the skill in writing scientific papers. The resultvariable of this research is the competence of scientific papers writing and the processvariable is the inquiry element. This research uses some test instruments, i.e. 1) thesystem of writing; 2) the ability to think logically; 3) the coherence between the titleand the content; 4) the ability to use proper Indonesian spelling; 5) the ability to writeparagraphs, sentences and words; 6) the ability to write quotations; 7) the ability towrite the bibliography ; and 8) the order of the writing. The non-test instruments arein the form of 1) observation sheet; 2) students’ journal; and 3) interview. The testdata were analyzed quantitatively using statistical formula. Categorization anddescription were used to analyze the non-test data. The result shows that the inquiryelement can be used in teaching the scientific paper writing of grade XI-IA students ofSMA Negeri 9 Semarang. The improvement of the competence can be seen in cycle Iand II. The average score of pre-cycle step was 62.11. It increased up to 69.55 in cycleI and reached 77.10 in cycle II.Kata kunci: elemen inkuiri, karya ilmiah, kompetensi menulis, penelitian tindakankelas

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) struktur, jenis, makna tekstual dan kontekstual teks anekdot bermuatan karakter dan kearifan lokal; (2) anekdot sebagai media penyampai komunikasi bermuatan karakter dan kearifan lokal; dan (3) kelayakan teks anekdot bermuatan karakter dan kearifan lokal sebagai bahan ajar bahasa Indonesia di SMA. Jenis penelitian ini deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian berupa teks anekdot yang bermuatan karakter dan kearifan lokal yang sudah divalidasi ahli sejumlah 111 teks anekdot. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) teks anekdot bermuatan karakter berjumlah 75 dengan rincian bermuatan nilai spiritual keagamaan (10), pengendalian diri, kepribadian, dan akhlak mulia (6), kecerdasan (45), dan nilai keterampilan bermasyarakat (14). Sedangkan nilai kearifan lokal berjumlah 36 teks meliputi nilai rasa belas kasih (14), bijaksana (6), pribadi yang tangguh (8), rendah hati (3), dan pandai bergaul (5). Makna kontekstual teks anekdot bermuatan karakter dan kearifan lokal meliputi situasi, peristiwa, tindak tutur, dan fungsi tuturan yang mencerminkan karakter dan kearifan lokal masyarakat Indonesia; (3) Anekdot sangat tepat digunakan dalam penyampaian karakter dan kearifan lokal karena rasa humor yang disukai siswa dan mudah diterima siswa, nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam teks, dan cerita tokoh-tokoh terkenal; serta (4) 111 teks anekdot hasil penelitian layak dijadikan bahan ajar Bahasa Indonesia di SMA.   Kata kunci: teks anekdot, karakter, kearifan lokal, bahan ajar, bahasa Indonesia SMA   ABSTRACT This study aims to describe (1) the textual, contextual, textual and contextual text of anecdotal text containing character and local wisdom; (2) anecdotes as a communicator medium containing character and local wisdom; and (3) the appropriateness of anecdotal text is loaded with character and local wisdom as Indonesian language teaching material in high school. This research type is qualitative descriptive. The research data in the form of anecdotal text that has character and local wisdom that has been validated by a number of 111 anecdotes experts. The results of this study are (1) anecdotal text containing 75 characters of character with details of spiritual spiritual values ​​(10), self-control, personality, and noble character (6), intelligence (45), and societal skills score (14). While the value of local wisdom amounted to 36 texts including the value of compassion (14), wise (6), a strong person (8), humble (3), and sociable (5). Contextual meaning of anecdotal text containing character and local wisdom includes situations, events, speech acts, and speech functions that reflect the character and local wisdom of the Indonesian people; (3) Anecdotes are aptly used in the delivery of character and local wisdom because of the humor that students love and are easily accepted by students, the values ​​contained in the text, and the stories of famous personalities; and (4) 111 anecdotal texts of research result worthy of being used as teaching material of Indonesian language in SMA.   Keywords: anecdotal text, character, local wisdom, teaching materials, Indonesian high school
