Abstract

Tracer study implementation primarily aids institutions in their transformation into state universities capable of producing graduates who are adaptable to industrial needs. Universities can use the results of an accurate and structured tracer research as a benchmark for building excellent teaching curricula and education systems. ATI In terms of the preparation of the tracer study questionnaire instrument and technological data collecting, Padang Polytechnic optimizes the implementation of the tracer study. The BAN-PT accreditation assessment criteria and elements, as well as the key questions of the Directorate General of Belmawa, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education's tracer research, were used to create the questionnaire instrument. The collection of data is done in tandem with the building of a website. Identity, type of work, amount of time waiting for graduates to acquire a job, and information about their initial wage were all included in the surveys. According to the results of the alumni search from 2018 to 2020, ATI Padang Polytechnic graduates were absorbed at a rate of 73 percent. The next stage in improving the quality of education for future graduates is to strengthen foreign language proficiency, such as English and Mandarin, as well as soft skills.

Abstract

Balai Batu Sandaran Village, which is included in the administrative area of Barangin District, Sawahlunto City, West Sumatra, is one of the centers for citronella oil production in West Sumatra. In this village, a citronella oil refining industry has been established. The establishment of a citronella oil refining industry is one way that can be done so that existing citronella can be processed into essential oils. Mekar Wangi is one of the SMEs that uses essential oils as an additional ingredient in the household cleaning products they produce. The obstacles faced by Mekar Wangi in developing their business are the absence of PIRT, inadequate packaging, and difficulty in marketing. It only operates when there is an order. Through this activity, it is expected that Mekar Wangi will understand techniques to make attractive packaging and labeling so that they can be made later for the products they produce and provide understanding to the public that digital marketing needs to be done in promoting their business. The method of implementing this activity is carried out by giving technical demonstrations of making essential oil derivative products, labeling, product packaging, and digital marketing and providing entrepreneurial motivation so that they are able to compete and provide added value for the Mekar Wangi.

Abstract

Processing market waste into feed can increase the added value of waste. Market waste consisting of vegetables and animals still contains nutrients that are beneficial for livestock and fish as an alternative or main feed. Utilization of market waste into fish pellets needs to be studied with a fermentation process with variations in fermentation time of 2-6 days, molasses content (5%, 10% and 15%) and animal and vegetable composition (1:1, 2:3 and 3:1) on crude protein and feed quality. The process of making feed by mixing market waste materials and a fermentation and flouring process will be carried out to obtain uniform pellets in printing. Protein test will be carried out using the Kjedhal method as crude protein content. Based on the results of buoyancy for more than 6 minutes, pellets with a composition of 50% fish offal had the best quality compared to other variations with a protein content of 32.48%.

Abstract

CV. NJL Padang adalah industri kecil yang menghasilkan coran berbasis aluminium. Karena keterbatasan peralatan, produksi sangat tergantung pada sejumlah aspek proses produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis aspek-aspek yang mempengaruhi kejadian cacat pada coran aluminium dan mengusulkan rekomendasi untuk perbaikan proses menggunakan alat pengendalian kualitas. Hasilnya, jenis cacat yang ditemukan dalam produk coran aluminium, yakni 1) cacat pergeseran; 2) cacat misrun; 3) cacat lubang gas; 4) cacat porositas serta 5) cacat dirt. Persentase dan kontribusi terhadap cacat masing-masingnya adalah Cacat pergeseran (0,78%-22,22%), cacat misrun (0,29%-8,33%), cacat Lubang gas (),75%-20,83%), cacat porositas (0,89%-25%) serta cacat dirt (0,19%-5,55%). Terjadinya cacat dominan yakni porositas disebabkan oleh faktor ketidakmurnian material bahan coran, suhu coran yang tidak memadai, kondisi spiral bahan bakar tidak bekerja optimal serta kejenuhan pekerja/operator yang mengakibatkan kelalaian dalam mengontrol proses. Rekomendasi yang diberikan adalah perlunya menggunakan bahan fluksi yang tepat dan memadai pada proses peleburan, perbaikan spiral bahan bakar dan perbaikan rancangan cetakan, penggunaan thermokopel dan pembuatan standar kerja yang jelas serta pentingnya dilakukan rotasi kerja terhadap operator. Kata kunci : pengendalian kualitas, cacat, coran aluminium.
