Abstract

The research goals were to identify a spacial pattern in craftsmen house and to see its relevance to the social-cultural life of the craftsmen. The existence of domestic and economic activity in craftsmen house creates a spacial pattern with particular characteristics. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews, and visual documentation to record productive house, settlement condition, and sequences of pottery production. The in-depth interview focused on the use of time, space, and house modification in craftsmen house. House in the craftsmen settlement was growing gradually by adjusting to the inhabitant's needs. This research was included in qualitative research that described observation results and then analyzed spacial pattern formed in craftsmen house. Research results show that in this settlement beside the mixed, balanced, and separated type of productive house, there is also pottery collectors house type. The changes in the productive house are related to housing adaptation or house adjustment to accommodate production process. The settlement orientation is along the streets, but the existence of open space in the form of pottery kiln and hay storage become the main orientation for productive spaces inside the craftsmen house. Pottery kiln and hay storage have become open cultural space that characterizes the pottery craftsmen settlement.

Abstract

Humans will essentially live influenced by the environment. Human life continues to thrive in line with lifestyle and the natural environment. in line with the development of the era from time to time, several new problems arise due to changes in lifestyle and the natural environment. Humans who are increasingly facilitated by technology in doing everything, spend a lot of time indoors. This gives rise to new phenomena that are not considered a serious problem by space users. It will have a more negative impact if allowed to occur continuouslyNot only operational and aesthetic functions are considered in the design of a space in a building, but all things that affect the physical health and well-being of users, as well as connectivity with nature, should also be considered. Marketing Gallery & Clubhouse is a facility and infrastructure owned by property developers to meet the company’s operational support facilities as well as to complement public facilities for the local people. The focus issue is how to apply the principles of health & wellbeing as a solution to improve the quality of life of users, while also facilitating all the needs and convenience of users in it. Interior design with the application of health & wellbeing principles is applied to the design process of the Marketing Gallery & Clubhouse Citraland Puncak Tidar in Malang. The method used in market research is literature study and analysis. While the methods used in the design are problem identification, problem exploration, problem redefinition, and solution proposal.

Abstract

Population growth that continues to increase in the midst of limited land is a paradoxical essential problem in facing the development of the world of modern architectural and interior design today. This condition will lead to a negative impact on the environment, thus making the existence of these three problems very crucial to be responded to in an architectural and interior design strategy that is concerned about the environment. E Studio as an architectural and interior consulting company that focuses on implementing the principles of building design that is functional, environmentally friendly (green design), and has character (ambiance) is the answer in its active contribution to responding to these existing problems, i.e., limited land, environmental damage, and the density of the population that is indicated to occur in the current modern era. The method used for design exploration uses the concept of programmatic form processing with a green design approach to answering the problems and needs of the design users. Bringing up one theme, PARADOX, to realize that the presence of a building can essentially make it non-contradictory to the surrounding natural environment. The application of green design is applied to the processing of building mass generation, optimization of natural lighting and ventilation, concern about user health and comfort, and materials selection that can be recycled to reduce project waste in the future.
