Abstract

Manufacturing systems that are often classified as push and pull often invite question: "How far do the differences between those two systems exist?" Many researches have been carried out but succinct answer to the above question is always difficult to reach. The difficulty roots from the variety of definition of the push and pull systems itself and also from the variety of complexity of a manufacturing system. This paper attempts to study the differences in performance between push and pull systems in a relatively simple model that consists of 4 serial processors with buffers located between these processors. Variations being modelled is on the setting of the system's load (high and low) and the buffer size with performance being measured include machine utilization, number of outputs and mean flow time of jobs. The approach used is simulation using ProModel software as the tool. From the experiments it can be derived that buffer size turns out to be a very critical factor in system performance. Moreover, it is also proved that when the buffer size is large, push and pull systems do not differ significantly. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Sistem manufaktur yang umumnya dikategorikan menjadi sistem push dan pull sering mengundang pertanyaan: "Seberapa jauh perbedaan dari kedua sistem tersebut ada?" Banyak penelitian telah dilakukan namun jawaban yang lugas atas pertanyaan tersebut sulit diperoleh. Kesulitan ini umumnya berakar dari beragamnya definisi sistem push dan pull itu sendiri serta variasi dari kompleksitas suatu sistem manufaktur. Makalah ini mencoba melihat perbedaan antara kinerja sistem push dan pull dalam suatu model sederhana yang terdiri dari 4 prosesor serial dengan buffer yang diletakkan di antara masing-masing prosesor tersebut. Variasi yang dilakukan adalah pada setting beban kerja sistem (padat dan ringan) dan ukuran buffer dengan kinerja yang diukur adalah utilisasi mesin, jumlah output dan rata-rata waktu tinggal job. Pendekatan yang dipakai adalah simulasi dengan alat bantu software ProModel. Dari eksperimen yang dilakukan didapatkan hasil bahwa ukuran buffer sangat berpengaruh terhadap kinerja sistem. Secara khusus juga dibuktikan bahwa pada ukuran buffer besar, ternyata antara sistem push dan pull tidak memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan. Kata kunci: sistem push-pull, simulasi, buffer.

Abstract

Lean service pada dasarnya adalah ‘perbaikan yang berkesinambungan’ dan ‘menghilangan aktivitas non-value-add (waste)’. Pada penelitian ini, objek yang dipilih sebagai tempat penerapan lean service adalah Hotel Trio Indah 2 Malang terutama untuk divisi Front Office, Housekeeping, Restaurant, Engineering, dan Public Area. Saat ini, kondisi Hotel Trio Indah 2 Malang belum termasuk lean. Hal ini terlihat dari adanya pemborosan di beberapa divisi. Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi waste hotel saat ini dengan menggunakan lean tool; merancang lean service yang sesuai untuk meningkatkan efisiensi di Hotel Trio Indah 2 Malang; dan mengimplementasikan lean service tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pemetaan aktivitas dengan PAM untuk mengidentifikasi waste dan value dari customer. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis penyebab waste dengan menggunakan FMEA dan 5whys untuk menghasilkan saran perbaikan. Untuk perbaikan jangka pendek, didapatkan pengurangan persentase NNVAA dan NVAA. Untuk perbaikan jangka panjang, terdapat peningkatan nilai PCE, sehingga dari usulan perbaikan yang dirancang dapat diterapkan oleh pihak hotel agar efisiensi proses pelayanannya dapat ditingkatkan.

Abstract

The high percentage of re jects due to de fects during the production process in P T. XYZ, encouraged the researcher to de sign experiments using Shainin method. Shainin method begins with multi-vary testing to see the spread of rejected products proportion based on time to time, unit to unit and within unitgroups. The tests performed showed significant gains in all three groups (A, C, and D groups in the 3rd shifts and capper 1, 2). Furthermore, concentration chart testing shows the location of defects that recur in group A and the group C on capper 1 and capper 2. Paired comparison testing results indicate torque band as Red X and seal torque as Pink X. Moreover, the results of product / process search shows pressure drying closing cone as Red X and low pressure lifting as Pink X. The four tests performed on these factors indicate interaction so that response surface can be performed. Thus, it was obtained that the value to minimize Green Y on low pressure lifting of parameter setting was 3.5-4.0 bar, closing cone of drying pressure was 2.1 to 3.0 bar, the torque band was 8.8 to 10, 9 Lb.in and seal torque was 6.0-7.5 Lb.in.

Abstract

Directorate of Students Development is a department responsible forstudent activities in University of Surabaya. This research discusses the design of Quality Management System which is accordance to the requirements of ISO9001:2015 at Directorate of Students Development. The research started withidentifying gaps, determining improvement opportunities, implementing alternative solutions and evaluating the quality management system. The methodsused for this research are observation, interview, and document collection. The result of gap analysis between organization's existing condition compared to ISO 9001:2015 resulting in 52% conformity, 36% partial, and 12% nonconformity.Based on these assessments, there are some improvement opportunities that can be done such as identifying organization's stakeholders, creating quality objectives based on strategies, analyzing risks and the process of transfer knowledge. The evaluation of quality management system can be done by reviewing the system with the concept of seven principles of Quality Management System.

Abstract

Memasuki era Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN (MEA), banyak perusahaan manufaktur dituntut meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi organisasi. Penerapan Quality Management System (QMS) berupa ISO 9001 mampu lebih meningkatkan efektivitas. Penerapan lean dapat meningkatkan efisiensi sehingga proses produksi menjadi lebih ramping. Lean dan ISO 9001 dapat diintegrasikan yang disebut LeanQuality Management System (LQMS). Penelitian ini membahas rancangan LQMS dan implementasinya di sebuah perusahaan manufaktur benang yaitu PT. Hapete. Penelitian diawali dengan melakukan identifikasi gap (gap scanning) dengan dasar persyaratan ISO 9001:2015. Berikutnya dilakukan identifikasi tingkat penerapan lean dengan menggunakan Strategos Lean Assesment Tool (SLAT). Hasil implementasi menyatakan bahwa secara keseluruhan hasil implementasi sudah baik di mana responden merasa bahwa penerapan lean quality management system sesuai untuk diterapkan dan kegiatan implementasi bermanfaat bagi tempat kerja.

Abstract

Sistem manajemen mutu ISO 9001:2015 adalah versi terbaru dari standar ISO 9001. Perbedaan dari versi sebelumnya yaitu terkait dengan manajemen puncak yang dituntut untuk ikut berperan aktif dalam proses yang berjalan pada perusahaan dan menerapkan kontrol risiko dalam organisasinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan perancangan dan penerapan sistem manajemen mutu ISO 9001:2015 pada PT. ABC. PT. ABC merupakan sebuah industri manufaktur yang memproduksi sepatu. Perbaikan yang dilakukan berupa sistem dan informasi terdokumentasi di PT. ABC yang disesuaikan dengan persyaratan sistem manajemen mutu ISO 9001:2015. Untuk menerapkan standar ini, terdapat 231 persyaratan yang harus dipenuhi. PT. ABC telah memiliki 197 kesesuaian dengan persentase 85,28% dan memiliki 34 ketidaksesuaian dengan persentase 14,72%. Rancangan perbaikan yang diperlukan untuk memenuhi persyaratan standar tersebut antara lain: membuat analisis SWOT, menambahkan sasaran mutu, mengidentifikasi pihak yang berkepentingan, membuat analisis risiko dan peluang, membuat prosedur mutu sumber daya manusia, membuat prosedur pemilihan supplier, membuat prosedur prosedur pengendalian inventaris, membuat prosedur tinjauan manajemen, membuat manual mutu.

Abstract

Shainin is one of Design Experiment methods that can be used to get an optimal para meter setting. This method is a bit different than other Design Experiment methods. B y using Shainin, data are collected b ased on th e actual production process, so the data collection process does not disturb prod uction. This research was conducted in CV. Subur Ab adi that produces noodles. The production process is done throug h two production lines, where each li nes uses different drying machine, so the setting parameter will be different for each line. The characteristic of the noodle that will be optimized is the moisture content of dried noodles, with 9% -10% moisture content. After processing the data using Shainin method, the results showed that the moisture content of the dough affects the moisture content of dried noodles. On the north machine, parameters setting that affect the moisture content are dough moisture content, actual temperature and boiler pressu re. On the south mac hine, parameters setting that affect the moisture content are dough moisture content and boiler pressure. The optimal parameter setting for the north machine are actual temperature of 84.8 to 85 oC, boiler pressure of 7.6 to 7.7 kg/cm2, and dough moisture content of 31.3 to 31.4%. For the south machine, the optimal parameter setting are boiler pressure of 7.8 to 8 kg/cm2 and dough moisture content of 31,05 to 31,15%.

Abstract

P2B as a key unit to the success of operational business processes in PLN needs to conduct performance measurement to determine whether the performance of the organization and its employees are in accordance with the requested targets. Therefore, the researcher offers a method of me asuring HR Scorecard which is a form of human resources measurement to demonstrate the role of human resources that has been regarded as intangible to be measured in their role to a chieve the company’s mission, vision and strategy. The design of HR Scorecard resulted 17 indicators on four existing perspectives. Then the achievement target and its performance of each indicator we re measured and assessed. The pairwise comparison method (A HP) was done to w eigh each p erspective, strategy and indicator obtaining nine greatest weights of indicators. The indicator is then displayed in the dashboard to show the data of perf ormance measurement results. Thus the results show that the strategic perspective and consumers were good with each performance value of 4.197 and 3.667. Meanwhile, the operating and financial performance perspectives were quite well with the performance value of 2.968 and 2.667. It can be calculated that the value of the overall performance is 3.538 which means good performance.

Abstract

PT. Jayabrix Indonesia is a manufacturing company that produces ACC blocks and fiber cement boards, located in Lamongan, East Java. The vision of PT. Jayabrix Indonesia to become ACC Blocks and fiber cement boards producer that can penetrate the world’s market encourages the company to be certified ISO 9001:2008 in 2015. Because the active period will be expire in September 2018, PT. Jayabrix Indonesia encouraged to upgrade to ISO 9001:2015. This research aims to help the company to prepare for ISO 9001:2015. The result of gap identification shows that percentage of conformity is 76,6%, partial conformity is 18,8%, and nonconformity is 4,7%. Improvements that have been applied in PT. Jayabrix Indonesia are corrective action form, damage machine report, contract letter with supplier, and evaluation form of employee’s performance. The implementations and company’s quality obejctives are evaluated according to 7 principles of Quality Management System.
