Abstract

Teachers have a responsibility to help students who are not yet fluent in English in learning the language while they are enrolled in lessons. Researchers examined at how English language learners' academic progress could be benefited by STEM knowledge. Students can learn more about technology and how to use it in their daily lives with the help of STEM instructors. In addition, students who are learning to read and write in another language should take an English language course as part of their literacy curriculum. There are many different techniques and strategies that may be used to help students enhance their understanding of the concepts of STEM subjects as well as their academic English, which will help them become more proficient in the language and more confident in their ability to utilize it. Abstract

This research was conducted in class III public elementary school 2 Pasirkembang with a total of 28 students in the even semester of the 2019/2020 academic year. The procedure in this study went through two cycles, where each cycle consisted of; (1) the planning stage, (2) the implementation phase of the action, (3) the observation phase, (4) the reflection pahse. Collecting data in this study using observation sheets of student learning activities, observation aheets of teacher activities in using the index card match learning model, test questions to measure students’ understanding of concepts in the material addition and subtraction of numbers, and use aquestionnaire to determine student responses to the learning model index card match. Data analysis techniques in this research are qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed that the application of numbers in class III public elementary school 2 Pasirkembang could increase learning activities and concept understanding. This reults can be seen from the average value of cycle I activity (61%), in cycle II (88%) and an increase of (27%). Average learning outcomes of students’ understanding of concepts in the material addition and subtraction of numbers in the first cycle (64%), in the second (92%).

Abstract

Integration and the practice of addressing real-world issues are crucial components of STEM education. In this study, which was conducted as part of an endeavor to boost students' and instructors' knowledge and interest in STEM education, existing STEM courses have been incorporated into the Indonesian curriculum requirements in order to address real-world problems. This article gives a description of the planning process for after-school STEM education programs, with a focus on significant global issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At the junior high school level, the present curriculum requirements for all three STEM subjects will be integrated. Document analysis is the principal means of data collection. This consists of the standard papers of three distinct STEM fields, curriculum maps developed for schools, and documents pertaining to "Continuing Development Education." Four possible design problems are inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These challenges blend standards selected from three distinct STEM domains and include several new interconnected concepts and skills. This description offers a way by which educators may be supported in the production of lessons or other equivalent STEM educational programs or activities by integrating curricular requirements with existing STEM disciplines for many levels and settings relevant to students.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini berlatar belakang tentang semakin menurunnya kesadaran kecintaan terhadap lingkungan dari generasi penerus bangsa ini. Perlu dilakukan internalisasi metode ataupun pendekatan dalam membangun kesadaran dalam menumbuhkan rasa bertangggung jawab kepada alam dan lingkungan. Lingkungan adalah tempat bernaung makhluk hidup sebagai tempat menjalani kehidupan. Pemenuhan kebutuhan akan hidup memberikan dampak buruk bagi lingkungan alam. Perhatian terhadap kelestarian lingkungan harus ditingkatkan dari berbagai aspek, salah satunya dalam bidang Pendidikan unttuk membimbing siswa dalam menumbuhkan generasi berliterasi lingkungan dengan menggunakan pendekatan saintifik. Siswa diajak mengamati, menanya, mengumpulkan informasi,menalar, dan kemudian mengkomunikasikan hasil yang telah disusun dari membaca, melihat fakta, serta berbagai informasi yang diperoleh dari berbagai cara dan sumber. Hal ini dapat dilatihkan melalui mahasiswa calon guru Pendidikan sekolah dasar untuk diterapkan dalam menunaikan tugas profesionalnya sebagai guru. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat keefektifan pemakaian modul berbasis literasi lingkungan melalui pendekatan saintifik dalam mata kuliah Konsep Dasar IPA Kelas Rendah. Subjek dari penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar Universitas Esa Unggul Jakarta. Metode penelitian menggunakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model Dick dan Carey. Keefektifan diukur berdasarkan hasil belajar yang didapatkan dari pretest dan postest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keefektifan penggunaan modul berbasis literasi lingkungan melalui pendekatan saintifik, dengan rata-rata kenaikan yakni 28%. Pendekatan Saintifik berbasis literasi lingkungan dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran Konsep IPA Kelas Rendah. Kata Kunci : modul, literasi lingkungan, pendekatan saintifik

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the code mixing of student slang at universities in Indonesian language courses, especially Esa Unggul University. This type of qualitative research and descriptive method of analysis. The process of collecting basic and advanced technical data is insertion, intrusion, or insertion techniques. The data before being analyzed is verified first, then analyzed. Validation is done by triangulation technique through internal and external validation. The results found that many students use mixed language, especially writing. It is better for lecturers to give warnings both directly in class, and in writing through scientific writing, and provide intensive counseling so that the younger generation does not lose their national identity. Abstract

Artikel ilmiah merupakan salah satu aktivitas yang tidak terlepas dari kegiatan berbahasa. Notabennya ejaan dalam penulisan artikel ilmiah juga menjadi sorotan kajian sesuai dengan Peraturan Kementerian Kebudayaan Nomor 50 tahun 2015 yaitu Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia (PUEBI) yang mana terdapat empat, yaitu (1) pemakaian huruf, (2) penulisan kata, (3) pemakaian tanda baca, dan (4) penulisan unsur serapan. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini untuk mengkaji kesalahan berbahasa pada penulisan artikel ilmiah mahasiswa. Peneliti menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa data-data dan perilaku yang diamati menggunakan teks secara detil dan secara mendasar penelitian kualitatif memiliki dua tujuan: (1) menggambarkan dan mengungkapkan (to describe and explore), dan (2) menggambarkan dan menjelaskan (to describe and explain). Peneliti juga menggunakan pendekatan analisis isi. Disimpulkan banyaknya kesalahan berbahasa yang dilakukan dalam penulisan artikel ilmiah mahasiswa

Abstract

Guru-guru di SDN Candu 1 Kabupaten Tangerang belum memahami proses mengelola dan menerapkan Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) dan fasilitas sekolah belum mendukung menerapkan literasi. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini ialah untuk mengoptimalisasikan Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) dalam menumbuhkan budaya membaca. Metode dari kegiatan ini ialah menggunakan partisipasi aktif secara berkelanjutan antara tim pengusul dengan mitra sebagai pengendali program kemitraan masyarakat. Hasil dari kegiatan ini diantaranya (1) melakukan simulasi budaya membaca selama 15 menit yang diperaktekan oleh guru-guru dan tim dosen pengabdian masyarakat sebagai fasilitator dalam menerapkannya. (2) Melakukan pembuatan pojok literasi dengan menghias dari hasil karya siswa seperti pembuatan poster bertema membaca dan tulisan yang bertema untuk mengajak membaca.

Abstract

In the pursuit of enhancing students' and instructors' engagement in STEM education, this study integrates existing STEM courses into the Indonesian curriculum to tackle real-world issues. The primary objective is to address significant global problems aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the junior high school level. To achieve this, the current curriculum requirements for all three STEM subjects are interwoven. Document analysis, involving standard papers from three distinct STEM fields, curriculum maps for schools, and materials related to 'Continuing Development Education,' serves as the primary data collection method. This article outlines the planning process for after-school STEM education programs. It draws inspiration from the SDGs, presenting four design challenges that incorporate standards from three STEM domains. These challenges encompass fresh, interconnected concepts and skills. This description provides educators with a framework for creating lessons and STEM educational activities that fuse curricular requirements with existing STEM disciplines, catering to various levels and student settings.

Abstract

Writing has often been considered a challenging skill to master. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of a scientific approach based on Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) on enhancing students' descriptive writing abilities. This investigation employed classroom action research with twenty-four ninth-grade junior high school students in West Jakarta as participants. The research was conducted in two cycles, utilizing observation, interviews, and a series of writing tests to collect data. The results indicated that students' writing improved as a consequence of the use of a scientific approach based on MALL. By engaging them in a number of practices at each meeting, working with websites and applications, and seeking feedback from both students and teachers, MALL tended to enhance students' writing abilities. Implementing a scientific approach supported by MALL has shown potential in helping learners enhance their ideas in writing. They demonstrated their ability to create lengthy paragraphs supplemented with relevant details. Students boosted their vocabulary learning by using digital dictionaries and watching videos. Regular feedback from peers and teachers were crucial in helping students understand the significance of punctuation and spelling accuracy in their written work. Therefore, it is advised to conduct additional scholarly research to examine the effectiveness of the scientific approach based on MALL, covering not just writing skills but also extending to reading, speaking, or listening skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat belajar siswa kelas V di SDN Duri Kepa 03. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh media Quizizz terhadap minat belajar siswa kelas V di SDN Duri Kepa 03. Hal ini Variabel penelitian terdiri dari 2 variabel yaitu variabel bebas meliputi media Quizizz dan variabel terikat minat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh media Quizizz terhadap minat belajar siswa kelas V SDN Duri Kepa 03. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Mata pelajaran yang digunakan adalah Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dengan purposive sampling, tes pilihan ganda, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V-B yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Hasil penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan uji parsial (t) yaitu 2048. Jadi= 3800 > 2048. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut menunjukkan signifikansi 0,00 < 0,05. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima yang berarti terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara media kuis terhadap minat belajar siswa. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan diperoleh nilai koefisien R square sebesar 0,340=34%. Artinya variabel bebas media kuis mempengaruhi variabel terikat minat belajar siswa sebesar 34% dan 66% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak dimasukkan dalam penelitian ini.
