Abstract

Background: Balance is an important part of a person's physical fitness that is needed until the end of life and is very influential in everyday activities. The balance of the elderly will slowly decrease the function, either anatomically or physiologically, which will be followed by a morphological decrease in the muscle causing muscle functional changes, ie decreased strength and muscle contraction, decreased elasticity and muscle flexibility, decreased propioceptive function and speed, vestibular, visual, somatosensoris so that it can disturb the elderly dynamic balance and the risk of falling larger. Efforts to improve dynamic balance and reduce the risk of falling with physical exercise in the form of low impact gymnastics. Objective: The purpose of this study is to prove the effectiveness of low impact aerobic gymnastics in improving the dynamic balance in the elderly. Method: This study used quasi experimental method with one group research approach pre and post test design lasted for 4 weeks with frequency 3 times a week. The study sample amounted to 14 people who were given low impact aerobic gymnastics program. Dynamic balance measurement using Balance Berg Scale is measured before or after the training program on each subject. Result: showing the increase of dynamic balance equal to 55,14 ± 1,231 with result of test of wilcoxon got value p = 0,001. Conclusion: Low impact aerobic exercise can improve the dynamic balance of the elderly.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Kualitas tidur adalah ukuran dimana seseorang mendapat kemudahan dalam memulai tidur dan mempertahankan tidur. Gangguan tidur adalah salah gangguan yang sering dialami lansia. Gangguan tidur akan menimbulkan masalah pada kualitas tidur lansia. Tujuan dari. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas dari slow stroke back massage terhadap peningkatan kualitas tidur. Metode : Penelitian ini adalah eksperimental dengan rancangan penelitian pre and post test control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan simple random sampling. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 18 orang pada kelompok 1 dan 2. Pada kelompok 1 diberikan slow stroke back massage dan kelompok 2 tidak diberikan perlakuan. Kualitas tidur diukur menggunakan Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Hasil: Uji beda nilai rerata dengan independent sample t-test setelah perlakuan ditemukan perbedaan pada Kelompok 1 setelah intervensi 4,11±1,054 dan Kelompok 2 setelah intervensi 6,89±3,516 yang diperoleh dengan nilai p = 0,012 (p < 0,05). Kesimpulan: Pemberian slow stroke back massage efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas tidur pada lanjut usia.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Keseimbangan adalah kemampuan mempertahankan tubuh dalam posisi statis atau dinamis dengan menggunakan aktivitas otot minimal. Gangguan keseimbangan merupakan masalah umum pada lansia. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui perbedaan efektifitas latihan balance strategy dan latihan jalan tandem dalam meningkatkan keseimbangan dinamis lansia. Metode: Eksperimental dengan rancangan penelitian pre and post test two group design. Teknik pengambilan dengan simple random sampling. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 12 orang pada kelompok 1 dan 2. Pada kelompok 1 diberikan latihan balance strategy dan kelompok 2 diberikan latihan jalan tandem. Keseimbangan lansia diukur menggunakan times up and go test. Hasil: Pada kelompok 1 diperoleh nilai rerata peningkatan keseimbangan sebelum latihan 16,94±2,08 dan setelah latihan 15,50±1,62. Kelompok 2 diperoleh nilai rerata peningkatan keseimbangan sebelum latihan 15,45±2,30 dan setelah latihan 12,27±1,96. Uji beda nilai rerata setelah latihan ditemukan bahwa peningkatan keseimbangan pada kelompok 2 lebih baik daripada kelompok 1 dengan dengan persentase sebesar 20,5% pada kelompok 2 dan 8,5%pada kelompok 1. Simpulan: Latihan jalan tandem lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan keseimbangan dinamis lansia dibandingkan latihan balance strategy.

Abstract

Background: Calf Muscle Pain is discomfort and pain feeling in the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles, a result of constantly receiving the loading due to excessive wear. Purpose: This study was to determine hold relax exercise and auto myofascial release technique was more effective to reduce calf muscle pain than hold relax and auto stretching on SPG at Lippo Mall Kuta Bali. Methods: This research was an experimental study with pre and post test control group design. Total sample of this study were 22 SPGs, which divided into 2 groups. Group 1 (n = 11) was given hold relax exercise and auto stretching while the group 2 (n = 11) was given intervention hold relax exercise and auto myofascial release technique. Do exercise 3 times a week for 4 weeks. Sampling techniques with random sampling. Calf muscle pain was measured with modification sphygmomanometer to provoked pain. Result: Group 1 result obtained p value = 0,001 (p <0.05) and in Group 2 got result obtained p value = 0.001 (p<0.05) for Paired Sample T-test. Different test of mean value with independent sample t-test after treatment found that the decrease of calf muscle pain in group 2 was 232.73 mmHg better than group 1 was 199.09 mmHg with p value = 0.035 (p <0.05). Conclusion: Hold relax exercise and auto myofascial release technique more effective to reduce calf muscle pain than hold relax exercise and auto stretching on SPGs in Lippo Mall Kuta Bali. Suggestion: For the next researcher can do follow up research to see long-term result of hold relax and auto stretching exercise as well hold relax and auto myofascial release technique for SPGs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relation of Body Mass Index (BMI) and sport activities with lumbar flexibility of Students in Medical Faculty Udayana University. This research is a cross-sectional study conducted in May 2014 where the population of this study was students in Medical Faculty Udayana University second semester to eight semester which has fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The simple random sampling technique is used to select a sample of college students and obtained 62 samples. The results showed that 62 students aged 18-23 years found 12 people with overweight have limited lumbar flexibility and 16 people student obese, have limited lumbar flexibility. Out of 62 students found 33 people with sports activities lacked have limited lumbar flexibility, and 19 students with good sports activities have good lumbar flexibility. Based on the chi-square test p value = 0.027 (p <0.05), which means there is a significant association between BMI on lumbar flexibility. Then, based on chi-square test showed p = 0.000 (p <0.05), which means there is a significant association between the activity of exercise on lumbar flexibility.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Keseimbangan merupakan kemampuan tubuh untuk tetap berada dalam keadaan stimbang dan menyesuaikan diri terhadap gravitasi, permukaan tanah dan objek dalam lingkungannya ketika melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari. Gangguan keseimbangan pada lansia tersebut dapat berdampak pada meningkatnya resiko jatuh pada lansia yang dapat menyebabkan berbagai macam cidera pada lansia seperti patah tulang maupun luka berat bahkan kematian. Tujuan: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui otago home exercise programme dapat meningkatkan keseimbangan dinamis pada lansia. Metode: Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental dengan rancangan one group pre dan post test design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 14 orang yang diberikan intervensi otago home exercise programme. Pengukuran keseimbangan dinamis dilakukan dengan menggunakan timed up and go test (TUGT) yang diukur sebelum dan sesudah pemberian intervensi. Hasil: Hasil pengujian hipotesis menggunakan wilcoxon match pair test diperoleh rerata sebelum perlakuan sebesar 16,68 dan setelah perlakuan sebesar 12,09 dengan nilai p=0,001. Kesimpulan: Dari hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan otago home exercise programme dapat meningkatkan keseimbangan pada lansia.Kata Kunci: Otago Home Exercise Programme, Keseimbangan Dinamis, Timed Up and Go Test, Lansia

Abstract

Background: The elderly population in recent years has experienced a significant increase. The condition and function of the body in the elderly are decreasing so that a person will experience a decrease in physical abilities which can affect body shape. Changes in body composition in the elderly include an increase in fat mass, a decrease in fat-free mass and a decrease in bone mass. These changes can increase and decrease the Body Mass Index (BMI). Sleep disturbance that affects sleep quality is sleep disordered breathing (SDB) and is closely related to a person's BMI level. Abstract

Pendahuluan: Lanjut usia selama masa pandemi covid-19 mengalami perubahan dimana dapat menimbulkan terjadinya penurunan aktivitas sehari-hari yang berpengaruh pada aktivitas fisik. Aktivitas fisik yang semakin menurun pada lanjut usia akan memberikan pengaruh pada peredaran darah dimana dapat terjadi peningkatan atau penurunan tekanan darah. Kondisi tersebut juga memberikan perubahan pada serapan oksigen ke dalam tubuh. Penurunan aktifitas fisik pada lansia dapat menimbulkan perubahan pada tekanan darah dan saturasi oksigen. Tujuan dari penelitian ini mengetahui hubungan antara aktifitas fisik terhadap tekanan darah dan saturasi oksigen pada lanjut usia. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional study. Sampel ditentukan dengan purposive sampling. Jumlah peserta penelitian adalah 50 orang lanjut usia. Hasil: Hasil uji somer’s d aktivitas fisik terhadap tekanan darah didapatkan nilai p=0,037 (p<0,05) didapatkan hubungan yang bermakna antara aktivitas fisik dengan tekanan darah. Hasil uji somer’s d tidak didapatkan hubungan yang bermakna antara aktivitas fisik terhadap saturasi oksigen yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai p=0,603 (p>0,05). Simpulan: Peningkatan dan penurunan aktivitas fisik memiliki hubungan terhadap tekanan darah pada lansia. Peningkatan dan penurunan aktivitas fisik tidak memiliki hubungan terhadap saturasi oksigen pada lanjut usia. Kata Kunci: aktifitas fisik, saturasi oksigen, tekanan darah, lanjut usia

Abstract

The number of elderly people in Indonesia from year to year continues to increase. With the increasing amount of elderly, it is followed by an increase in musculoskeletal complaints. The outbreak of Covid-19 has resulted in limited and disrupted physical activity and health services for the elderly. The elderly are a group at risk of death if infected with Covid-19 because there is a degenerative process and there are co-morbidities. Community service activities carried out at the Tresna Werdha Wana Seraya Social Home in Ketalanggu Village aims to provide health services so that during the Covid-19 pandemic the quality of life for the elderly will be better. Activities carried out using blood pressure screening methods and examination of musculoskeletal complaints as well as providing physiotherapy services related to musculoskeletal complaints such as exercise and infrared therapy for free to the elderly. The participation in this community service activity was 34 people with the most aged 66-70 years. The results of this activity are the presence of the elderly, and the results of blood pressure screening and services for musculoskeletal complaints in the elderly at the Tresna Werdha Wana Seraya Social Institution during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Football is a group sport that is popular all over the world that has a high risk of falling and impacting so that it can cause injury. To avoid this, a medical team must be prepared such as doctors and physiotherapists, either prepared by the team or provided by the match organizer. Basically Physiotherapy aims to develop, maintain and restore movement and bodily function through manual manipulation, motion enhancement, functional exercises and communication at individuals and groups. This activity aims to provide the first treatment for injuries suffered by football athletes who compete in the Bima Nata Cup activities, especially in providing physiotherapy services for acute injuries. The methods used in accordance with the physiotherapy care system start from inputs: namely athletes who have suffered injuries, process: examination of athletes followed by the preparation of interventions according to the injuries experienced, outputs: athlete's recovery and outcomes: the athlete's satisfaction with the servants provided. The results of the services performed on the 15 football clubs that compete physiotherapists can help and provide treatment to athletes who have suffered injuries while competing. Based on the number of injury cases, the most cases of injuries to the ankle were 33%, injuries to the knee were 25%, injuries to the hamstring were 20%, injuries to the shoulder were 8%, injuries to the wrist were 8% and injuries to the wrist were 6%. The process carried out is in the form of a physiotherapy process which includes assessment, diagnosis, intervention and evaluation. Physiotherapy interventions carried out using the RICE method and the use of physiotherapy modalities in the form of exercise therapy. It can be concluded that there were 36 athletes who suffered injuries. And it can illustrate that the need for physiotherapy services in a football.
