Abstract

The phenomenon of the use of e-commerce on this smartphone or better known as m-commerce has begun to increase towards social commerce where social commerce is one of the terms that people often use to describe online shop models that utilize social media to promote products, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and many more. The purpose of community service activities include empowering SMK students as the next generation of young people through the use of e-commerce and social commerce, fostering awareness of the younger generation and the people of Pekalongan Regency on the importance of using e-commerce and social commerce in improving the quality of life of the community, and introducing the existence of the Bachelor of Applied Public Accounting Program in the Polytechnic of Harapan Bersama Tegal who care and have social responsibility towards the condition of the community, especially students of Ma'arif NU Kajen Vocational School in Pekalongan Regency in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. E-commerce is a term that is often used or heard today related to the internet, where no one knows the meaning of e-commerce clearly. Social commerce is a new phenomenon in the world of e-commerce. The method or method used in conducting community service activities is first by using a survey method, where the team conducts surveys directly to the location for initial data collection. This community service activity was held on Friday and Saturday, 22 to 23 November 2019 from 08.00-12.00 WIB and was attended by 35 students of Ma'arif NU Kajen Vocational School, Pekalongan Regency. This activity was carried out in the form of exposure to the use of e-commerce and social commerce in students of Ma'arif NU Kajen Vocational School, Pekalongan Regency, as well as training in the form of making e-commerce and social commerce online store accounts with the use of smartphones on students of SMK Ma 'arif NU Kajen of Pekalongan Regency. The following details the PKM activities and schedule.

Abstract

This research discussed the image of the future human which is represented in Chappie (2015) movie by using representation theory. The researcher focused on the way the movie director created the figure of the future humans in his movie. The implementation of representation theory is used to analyze the image of the future humans created by the movie maker in Chappie (2015) movie. Chappie is a robot that has artificial intelligence to support itself in making decisions toward its acts. Furthermore, Chappie which is an Artificial Intelligence human-robot occurs as the most suitable figure to represent the human in the future era.

Abstract

Entering the 4.0 industrial revolution, many electronic-based learning media occur to make the learning process becomes more colorful compared to the one-way learning process. Game-based learning is one of the new media that occurs nowadays. Kahoot! is one of the popular game-based learning media that is popularly played in the class. However, the effectiveness of Kahoot!as an assessment media of English lesson is rarely conducted. In this research, the simple linear regression is used as the method. Furthermore, SPSS was used to check the validity and reliability of the questions given to the respondents. Even though there were 65 respondents, the questionnaires could be collected only 39 questionnaires. From the statistic test, the value of t is 5.405 > t table which is 1,998 made H0 is rejected. According to the statistic analysis, it can be concluded that the effectiveness of Kahoot! as an assessment media is only 30%. Some of the respondents argue that it is not very effective especially while showing the rank of the participants.

Abstract

In this study, researchers examined how the implementation of the ESCO method combined with video material media in improving the ability to write English procedure text. This study belongs to Class Action Research. The data analysis method used descriptive quantitative method. The respondents in this study were 44 first-year students of the Applied Bachelor of Public Sector Accounting department of Polytechnic Harapan Bersama who were gathered in one class and given the same treatment. The data were collected using a pretest-posttest assessment and a questionnaire. The data obtained in the form of a pre-test and post-test were analysed to see if there was an increase in the student's ability to write procedural texts. The analysis of the pre-test and post-test scores was combined with the students’ questionnaire which contained students’ opinions regarding the implementation of the ESCO method as a learning method. The results of this study indicated that there is an increase in the student's ability to write procedural texts in English as an improvement between their pre-test and post-test scores.

Abstract

Siswa – siswi SMK yang disiapkan untuk bisa menghadapi dunia kerja ini mulai menyadari pentingnya menguasai kemampuan berbahasa Inggris. Meski demikian masih banyak dari mereka yang belum mampu untuk menyusun kalimat berbahasa Inggris dengan baik dalam mengutarakan ide atau pendapat mereka. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat berjudul “Peningkatan kemampuan berkomunikasi menggunakan simple sentence kepada siswa – siswi SMK” ini diadakan untuk memberikan suatu pemahaman bahwa hal terpenting dalam berkomunikasi adalah tersampaikannya informasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan simple sentence ini adalah metode jaring (jari Inggris) yang mana suatu kalimat itu membutuhkan minimal 3 komponen dan akan lebih baik jika memiliki 5 komponen. Pengabdian kepada mayarakat ini dilakukan di SMK Muhammadiyah Adiwerna dan diikuti oleh +/- 30 siswa – siswi kelas 12. Banyak siswa – siswi yang berani mencoba untuk berkomunikasi dengan berbahasa Inggris menggunakan metode jaring. Metode jaring memudahkan siswa dalam menyusun suatu kalimat sederhana berdasarkan kaidah tatabahasa (grammatical)

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat berjudul “Peningkatan Kemampuan Penggunaan Lima Tenses Yang Sering Digunakan Untuk Percakapan Sehari - Hari Bagi Siswa - Siswi SMK N 1 Slawi,” dilaksanakan untuk pemenuhan tridharma dosen dengan melihat keterkaitannya dengan masalah disekitar terutama pada lingkungan pendidikan. Metode pelaksanaan PkM ini dilakukan dengan teknik presentasi dan praktek yang diikuti dengan evaluasi. Metode ini sukses membentuk kepercayaan diri peserta yang kebanyakan adalah siswa – siswi kelas 10 & 11. Tenses merupakan kemampuan dasar yang harus dikuasai dalam berkomunikasi menggunakan bahasa Inggris akan tetapi cara untuk memahami tenses bukan dengan menghapal melainkan dengan mengetahui pola keterangan dan kata kerja yang disesuaikan dengan konteks kalimat. Pengabdi merasa jika pembelajaran Tenses berbahasa Inggris masih perlu ditingkatkan untuk para siswa – siswi sekolah menengah kejuruan mengingat para siswa – siswi ini diproyeksikan untuk langsung menghadapi dunia kerja.
