Abstract

The research aims to develop inquiry learning materials to facilitate science process skills and science concept mastery the junior high school students in energy and works matter. The research was conducted through two phase that is development phase by using 4-D models and implementation phase using one group pretest-posttest design. Data collection methods used test and observation, while the data analysis techniques using inferential parametric, quantitative descriptive, and qualitative descriptive. The result were obtained: the devices that have been developed are generally categorized as well; RPP performing well; activity is the dominant doing observation; The results also showed that mean of N-gain score mastery of concepts in high category; science process skills in high category; students mastery of the concept after learning improving; students responses to learning a positive model of inquiry. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the develop inquiry learning materials effective that can be applied in learning activities in grade VIII of SMP.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to develop and implement biology learning materials based on metacognitive strategy. The learning material was developed by using 4-D model, including the Definition, Design, Develop phase, whereas the Disseminate phase was not conducted because this research is classified as the development research. This research was conducted in one of the senior high schools in East Java. Validating, observing, and giving questionnaire were implemented to collect various information during implementation of the learning materials. The findings from this research showed that the learning materials are valid, practical, and effective in empowering students both in terms of attention and learning outcomes. There were several obstacles occurred during the implementation of the learning materials, i.e. students were confused of new task and learning strategy and were not accostumed in correcting and acknowledged their own mistakes. Alternative solutions were given by providing guidance and information to students about learning using metacognitive strategy, so that students were expected to follow the learning with ease, as well as to train their reflective thinking skill and using an analogy which easier to understand.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan dan mengimplementasikan perangkat pembelajaran Biologi berbasis metakognitif. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan model 4-D, meliputi tahap pendefinisian (Definition), perancangan (Design), dan pengembangan (Develop), sedangkan tahap penyebaran (Disseminate) tidak dilakukan karena penelitian ini tergolong penelitian pengembangan. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) Negeri di Jawa Timur. Observasi, angket, dan tes digunakan untuk mengumpulkan variasi informasi selama implementasi perangkat pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perangkat pembelajaran ini valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir reflektif. Terdapat hambatan yang ditemui selama implementasi perangkat pembelajaran. Beberapa siswa bingung akan tugas dan strategi belajar baru, dan belum terbiasa mengoreksi dan mengakui kesalahan diri sendiri. Alternatif solusi yang diberikan dengan memberikan pengarahan dan informasi kepada siswa tentang pembelajaran menggunakan strategi metakognitif dengan harapan siswa lebih mudah dalam mengikuti pembelajaran, memberikan bimbingan untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir reflektif, dan membuat analogi yang mudah dipahami siswa.

Abstract

Competencies of nowadays biology pre-service teacher is an important key for the future education quality. This article aimed to discuss the effectiveness of Thinking Working Scaffolding Sharing (TWSS) model implementaton in Departement of Biology UM. This quantitative descriptive study used learning outcomes (professional and pedagogical competencies), attitudes, and group activity of biology pre-service teacher as determinant factors of the TWSS model effectiveness. The instrument to collect the data for those parameters were product assessment and observation sheet. Universitas Negeri Malang assessment guideline was utilized to determine the pre-service teachers’ competencies; meanwhile, the percentage calculation was employed as the data analysis procedure to proceed the data. The results informed: 1) the mean values of learning outcomes for professional and pedagogical competencies were 94 and 74, respectively; 2) 92% of students showed individual responsibility in completing their tasks (in which 46% was categorized as ‘excellent’ and the other 46% was considered as ‘good’); 3) 85% of students performed excellent attitude in their group work. Therefore, the implementation of TWSS model is effective to improve natural science competencies for biology pre-service teacher.

Abstract

This research aims to determine that the implementation of the POE (predict-observe-explain) strategy can be used to correct misconceptions in thermochemistry. This research uses One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This research was conducted in class XI MIA 5 students at Bhayangkari 3 Porong Senior High School. The sample used was 33 students who were divided into 6 heterogeneous groups. The students are given a conceptual understanding test as pretest and posttest in the form of a three-tier diagnostic test which amounts 20 questions. After pretest the next stage is to do remediation given learning process using worksheet of POE strategy. Then the results of pretest and posttest were then analyzed using Wilcoxon signed rank test. The result is POE (predict-observe-explain) strategy can be used to correct misconceptions in thermochemistry sub-topic for students in class XI of Bhayangkari 3 Porong Senior High School. This is indicated by a decrease in the percentage of students' misconceptions from 66.36% to 6.36%. In addition, based on the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test, Asymp. Sig (2-Tailed) has 0 value, it means hypothesis 0 is rejected, which means there is a significant influence on the implementation of learning with POE strategies to improve the student’s status of knowing the concept.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is produce Biology learning material based on metacognitive that valid, practical, and effective to practice reflective thinking skill. The development of learning material use the 4-D model and try out to do in class X 1 and X-2 of SMAN 1 Driyorejo second semester in academic year 2014/2015. Design of try out is One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The method of collecting data used document, observation, validation, test, and quetionnaires. The data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis of quantitative and qualitative. The results of this research are: 1) learning material developed has a valid category; 2) learning material in terms implementation of lesson plans category in feasibility and the activities of students according to the steps of metacognitive learning strategies with STAD cooperative model; and 3) the effectiveness of learning material in terms of: (a) improving student aspect of knowledge learning outcomes visible from the n-gain score with high category; (b) the completeness honesty of students respectively by 82.64% and 86.11% with the good category; c) the students responds toward material and implementation of learning positive. The conclusion is acquired from the results of this research show that the learning material based on metacognitive are proper valid, practical, and effective to practice reflective thinking skills of student. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran Biologi berbasis metakognitif yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan kejujuran siswa. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan model 4-D dan uji coba dilakukan di kelas X-1 dan X-2 SMAN 1 Driyorejo semester genap tahun ajaran 2014/2015 dengan rancangan penelitian One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode dokumen, observasi, validasi, tes, dan angket. Teknik analisis data   menggunakan  analisis   deskriptif   kuantitatif   dan   kualitatif.   Hasil   penelitian   menunjukkan: 1) perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berkategori valid;   2) perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari keterlaksanaan RPP berkategori praktis dan aktivitas siswa sesuai pada tahap-tahap strategi belajar metakognitif dengan model kooperatif tipe STAD; dan 3) keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari: (a) peningkatan hasil belajar aspek pengetahuan siswa terlihat dari n-gain dengan kategori tinggi; (b) ketuntasan kejujuran siswa masing-masing sebesar 82,64% dan 86,11% dengan kategori baik; dan (e) respon siswa terhadap perangkat dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran positif. Simpulan yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran berbasis metakognitif yang dikembangkan layak valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan kejujuran siswa

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of learning materials taht developed using problem solving model to facilitate junior high school students? creative thinking skills on global warming. This research was done because the problem solving model?s learning materials to facilitate students? creative thinking skill was less available. Learning in schools was tend to emphasize the aspects of knowledge only, whereas creative thinking skill was an important skill possessed in the 21st century. Applying creative thinking skill in problem solving would generate a lot of ideas that were useful in finding solution. The learning materials were developed using 3D model and one group pretest-posttest design was used as the trial design. The subject in this study was learning materials that was implemented on 7th grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kediri. The results showed that the students' creative thinking skills both in general and each indicator increased. Based on the results and discussion of the study, it can be concluded that the learning materials using problem solving method were effective to facilitate junior high school students? creative thinking skills on global warming. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dengan model problem solving untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP pada materi pemanasan global. Hal ini dilakukan karena perangkat pembelajaran dengan model problem solving untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif kurang tersedia. Pembelajaran di sekolah cenderung menekankan pada aspek pengetahuan saja, padahal keterampilan berpikir kreatif merupakan skill yang penting dimiliki pada abad 21. Penerapan berpikir kreatif dalam problem solving akan menghasilkan banyak ide yang berguna dalam menemukan penyelesaian masalah. Perangkat pembelajaran dikembangkan menggunakan model 3D dengan rancangan ujicoba penelitian one group pretest-posttest design.  Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah perangkat pembelajaran model problem solving yang diujicobakan pada 32 siswa SMP Negeri 1 Kediri kelas VII. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa baik secara umum maupun tiap indikator meningkat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan diskusi hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran model problem solving efektif untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP pada materi pemanasan global.

Abstract

Research has been done to develop the kind of integrated science teaching type webbed (Syllabus, Lesson Plans, Student Work Sheet, Student Book, Student Achievement Test) with guided inquiry model that aims to teach self directed learning and life skills junior high school students. Learning materials developed by four D model there are define, design, develop, and disseminate. Learning materials were validated by the experts to determine the validity of the materials and tested on 35 students of grade VII junior high school odd semester academic year 2015/2016 using the One Group Pre-test and Post Test Design. The data were analyzed by descriptive quantitative-qualitative. The results are: 1) The validity of the materials is very valid category (score 3.63); 2) Readability worksheet shows 100% the content interesting and easy to understand, 82.86% Student Work Sheet attractive appearance and legibility Student Book legible and suitable for use in junior high school students with an average number of sample sentences readings taken by researchers is 5.93 sentence in 100 words with the average number of syllables 145.2; 3) the successful is very good (average score of 3.71); 4) The students responded very positively (97.14%); 5) Student?s activities are student centered type; 6) increased student learning achievement (N-gain 0.74); 7) The self directed learning and improve students' life skills. The conclusions of this research are integrated science teaching materials types based guided inquiry type webbed developed is feasible to use in teaching self directed learning and ability of life skills junior high school students. Telah dilakukan penelitian pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe webbed (Silabus, RPP, LKS, Buku Siswa, Tes Hasil Belajar) dengan model inkuiri terbimbing yang bertujuan untuk melatih kemandirian belajar dan kecakapan hidup siswa SMP. Perangkat pembelajaran dikembangkan menggunakan model 4D (four D model) terdiri dari tahap pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop) dan penyebaran (disseminate). Perangkat pembelajaran divalidasi oleh para pakar untuk mengetahui validitas perangkat dan diujicoba pada 35 siswa kelas VII SMP semester gasal tahun ajaran 2015/2016 dengan rancangan One-Group Pre test and Post test Design. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif-kualitatif dengan hasil: 1) Validitas perangkat kategori sangat valid (skor 3.63); 2) Keterbacaan LKS menunjukkan 100% isi LKS menarik dan mudah dipahami, 82.86% penampilan LKS menarik dan keterbacaan Buku Siswa terbaca dan layak digunakan untuk siswa SMP dengan rata-rata jumlah kalimat sampel bacaan yang diambil peneliti adalah 5,93 kalimat dalam 100 kata dengan rata-rata jumlah suku kata 145,2; 3) Keterlaksanaan sangat baik (skor rata-rata 3.71); 4) siswa merespon sangat positif (97.14%); 5) Aktivitas siswa bersifat student center; 6) Hasil belajar siswa meningkat (N-gain 0.74); 7) Kemandirian belajar dan kecakapan hidup siswa meningkat. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah perangkat pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe webbed berbasis inkuiri terbimbing yang dikembangkan sudah valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan kemandirian belajar dan kemampuan kecakapan hidup siswa SMP.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop learning material of TPS Model by using Lectora Inspire Media on the main subject of Newton?s Law for Senior High School students. The Learning material development uses 4-D Model. Tryout II had been done to 90 students, by using one group pretest-posttest design and the replication to class X-1, X-2, and X-3 in SMA Negeri Mojoagung. The result of study shows: (1) The learning material that developed consists of: Lesson Plan, Students? Book, Students? Work Sheets, Lectora Inspire media, and the learning result assessment with worthy category are 3,9 ? 4,0 and the reliability are 81% - 93%. (2) The developed learning material is relatively practicable, it is showed by: (a) the Lesson plan implementation is well categorized, and 100% implemented with 94% reliability, (b) the most dominant of students? activity are asking and answering the questions in Lectora Inspire Media, (c) The students? response toward the lesson using Lectora Inspire Media is positive, and (3) The students? learning result is increase, it is shown by the increasing of pretest average score is 34,7 ? 43,0 and the posttest average score is 79,8 ? 85,5 with normalized-gain 0,68 ? 0.74, (4) the constrains that faced are the students are not familiar with TPS model, the students are not familiar to connect between the video of motivation to learn with the material that will be learned. Based on the study, it can be concluded that Learning material of TPS Model with Lectora Inspire Media which developed is effective to increase the students learning result of Newton?s Law material.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran model TPS dengan media Lectora Inspire pada pokok bahasan hukum Newton untuk siswa SMA. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan model 4-D. Ujicoba II dilakukan pada 90 siswa, dengan desain one group pretest-posttest dan dilakukan replikasi pada kelas X-1, X-2, dan X-3 SMA Negeri Mojoagung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan meliputi: RPP, buku siswa, LKS, media Lectora Inspire, dan tes hasil belajar berkategori layak dengan skor penilaian 3,9-4,0 dengan reliabilitas 81%-93%. (2) Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan tergolong praktis, hal ini ditunjukkan oleh: (a) Keterlaksanaan RPP berkategori baik, dan terlaksana 100% dengan reliabilitas 94%, (b) Aktivitas siswa paling menonjol adalah mengajukan/menjawab pertanyaan yang ada dalam Lectora Inspire, (c) respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan media Lectora Inspire adalah positif, dan (3) Hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan, hal ini ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan skor rata-rata pretest 34,7-43,0 dan untuk skor rata-rata postest 79,8-85,5 dengan normalized-gain  0,68-0,74, (4) kendala yang dihadapi adalah siswa belum terbiasa dengan model pembelajaran TPS, siswa belum terbiasa untuk menghubungkan antara motivasi belajar berupa video dengan materi yang akan dipelajari. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran model TPS dengan media Lectora Inspire yang dikembangkan efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi Hukum Newton.

Abstract

This research aims to develop the activities-based instructional material in junior high school natural science learning on sense of hearing and sonar systems topic through Media Interactive CD to improve learning achievement. This research use research and development. The model used is taken from Dick and Carey?s developmental model. The tests used are one group pre-test and post-test. The data analysis technique used descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The results showed that (1) the validation of teaching materials id categorized as feasible, (2) the feasibility of teaching materials with the average score of 3.7 is categorized as good, the percentages of students' response to learning and media are 98.81% and 90.48% , categorized as very good, 99,29% legibility of media is categorized as very good, (3) the effective teaching materials to reach the achievement of students? competency and activate students gets an average score of 3.25, the cognitive aspect of learning outcomes is categorized as "B+", the aspect of skill is 3.58, categorized as " A- ", aspects of spiritual attitude is 3.67, categorized as very good, aspects of social attitudes is 3.60, categorized as very good. Based on the research findings, we can conclude that the activities-based instructional material in junior high school natural science learning on sense of hearing and sonar systems topic through Media Interactive CD is feasible, practical and effective to be used in the teaching and learning process.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis aktivitas dengan media CD interaktif dalam pembelajaran IPA SMP pada materi indera pendengaran dan sistem sonar untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan bahan ajar. Model pengembangan yang  digunakan  adalah  model  Dick  and  Carey.  Uji  coba  bahan  ajar  di  dalam  kelas  menggunakan rancangan one group pre-test and post-test design. Teknik analisis yang dikembangkan adalah deskriptif kuantitaif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) validasi bahan ajar berkategori layak, (2) kepraktisan bahan ajar berkategori baik dengan skor rata-rata keterlaksanaan 3,7 berkategori baik, persentase respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran dan media 98,81% dan 90,48% berkategori sangat baik, keterbacaan media 99,29% berkategori sangat baik, (3)  bahan  ajar  efektif untuk menfasilitasi siswa mencapai ketercapaian kompetensi dan mengaktifkan siswa dengan skor rata-rata hasil belajar aspek pengetahuan 3,25 berkategori ?B+?, aspek keterampilan 3,58 berkategori ?A-?, aspek sikap spiritual 3,67 berkategori sangat  baik,  aspek  sikap  sosial  3,60  berkategori  sangat  baik.  Berdasarkan temuan  hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahan ajar berbasis aktivitas dengan media CD interaktif dalam pembelajaran IPA SMP pada materi indera pendengaran dan sistem sonar layak, praktis dan efektif digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

The purpose of research is to know feasibility of chemistry teaching materials using  cooperative learning model NHT-based multiple representations to improve student learning outcomes based on the aspect of validity, practicability, and effectiveness. The teaching materials were developed using the 4-D model while the trial of teaching materials used one group pretest-posttest design. The Teaching materials developed in this research included the lesson plan, student?s book, student?s worksheet, and achievement test. It were tested to students at class X IPA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Ngadirojo Pacitan. The results showed that: (1) the validity of the developed learning tools valid category included the lesson plan, student?s book, student?s worksheet, and achievement test; (2) practicability based on readability of student book and student worksheet are good category,  feasibility of implementation of the lesson plan are good category, the activity of the students showed that student-centered learning, students responded positively to the learning process; (3) effectiveness based on the results of student learning both from the aspect of attitudes, knowledge, and skills achieve mastery. Based on the above results it can be concluded that the chemistry teaching materials using cooperative learning model NHT-based multiple representations to improve learning outcomes have been valid, practical, and effective, so that feasible to be used in learning process. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran kimia menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT berbasis representasi majemuk untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa berdasarkan aspek validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran mengikuti model 4-D dengan uji coba menggunakan rancangan one group pretest-posttest design. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini meliputi Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), Buku Ajar Siswa (BAS), Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS), tes hasil belajar. Perangkat pembelajaran tersebut diujicobakan pada siswa kelas X IPA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Ngadirojo Pacitan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) validitas perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berkategori valid meliputi RPP, BAS, LKS dan tes hasil belajar; (2) kepraktisan  ditinjau dari   keterbacaan BAS dan LKS digolongkan baik,  keterlaksanaan Rencana Pelaksaanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) berkategori baik, aktivitas siswa menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berpusat pada siswa, siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap proses pembelajaran; (3) keefektifan ditinjau dari hasil belajar siswa baik dari aspek sikap, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan mencapai ketuntasan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran kimia menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT berbasis representasi majemuk untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar sudah valid, praktis, dan efektif, sehingga layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran.
