Abstract

This aimed to know the influence of PjBL model toward learning results of moral lessons in knowing the prophet and apostle in IV grade of Islamic School Padangsidimpuan Angkola Julu in academic year 2019/2020 by using PjBL and Direct Instruction model. The research model used Quasi-Experimental Design with None Quivalent Control-Group Design. The used instrument is the learning result test. Data analysis used t-Test. Research result showed (1) there is the influence of PjBL model toward student's learning test on moral lesson of knowing prophet and apostle material.

Abstract

The objectives of the study were, to find out the result of student in learning Math before and after using problem based learning model, to find out whether problem based learning model able to improve students’ ability in learning Math. The material topic was Addition and Reduction of integer operations. The subject of the study were 33 students at the seventh grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 07 Medan Perjuangan in academic year 2018/2019. The object of the study was problem based learning model in improving students’ ability in learning math with th topic Addition and Reduction of integer operations. The data were collected by using test, observation, documentation and interview. The data were analyzed in several steps, they were: data reduction, data display, and verifiying/conclusion. The result of students’ ability in learning math before using problem based learning model was low. It was represented by percentage of students’minimum mastery criteria only 15,15% with average 52,27. After using problem based learning model, students’ ability was improved. The percentage of students’ minimum mastery criteria was 60,60% and 75 at the end of cycle I and 90,90% and 87.57 at the end of cycle II. As a result, the using of problem based learning model in learning math with topic Addition and Reduction of integer operations was able to improve the ability og the seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 07 Medan Perjuangan in academic year 2018/2019.

Abstract

Education becomes a spear in developing the potency that exists in students both physically and spiritually.Besides increasing competence, interpersonal intelligence is an important thing to apply to the learning process. Learning is not always about values, but it can shape attitudes, so that later students can be intelligent, skilled and characterized citizens. Innovations that develop continuously that is begun from the industrial revolution 1.0 to 4.0, become challenges and opportunities for educators in developing the potentials of students in order to create competently, character and reliable graduates. The presence of the industrial revolution 4.0 which is known as the digital era is not only opens wide interactions but also disrupts various fields in human life. One of them is education. Therefore the role of interpersonal intelligence in schools is expected to be able to bridge the student’s  attitudes to be in accordance with the Qur'an and the Constitution 195 and can be integrated in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia must be transformed based on the 21st century era, which resulted in religious, character, intelligent students, and based on the Law on the National Education System in 2003, and Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 57 of 2021 concerning National Education Standards. This study aimed to develop a learning model of Angkola Batak culture-based Experience, South Tapanuli, North Sumatra, through teaching practices in micro-teaching courses. This research used the Research and Development research method by applying the Plomp development model. Random sampling used as a sampling technique consisted of 90 students from the Teacher Education of Islamic Elementary School, Institut Agama Islam Negeri Padangsidimpuan in the sixth semester. Data collected used observation and questionnaires assisted by google form. Data analysis used STATCAL software. The results showed discrepancies were found between the program and expectations as well as reality, while students had not fully understood designing lesson plans based on the applicable curriculum, synchronized the design of lesson plans and the practice, and students were not allowed to teach in schools in order to be able to practice theory and practical teaching applications. At the same time, the program study vision is to prepare Islamic Elementary School teachers with Islamic, innovative, competitive, and professional personalities associated with South Tapanuli culture, like the Angkola Batak. So, it is necessary to develop programs to improve students' skills in applying the learning in the 21st century.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many changes in various aspects of life, including in the education sector and the learning system. The application of learning and teaching from home policies for students and lecturers alike changes the face-to-face learning perspective online by utilizing various applications and platforms. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Wakelet for higher education and the benefits of Wakelet in online learning. This research method is descriptive quantitative through a survey. The population of this study was students of the PGMI IAIN Padangsidimpuan study program semester 6. The sampling technique used in this study was probability sampling which included simple random sampling. The sample was determined based on the Slovin formula assisted by Microsoft Excel software, so the sample was 94 respondents. The data collection technique used a questionnaire by Google Form. Analysis of research data using descriptive statistics assisted by STATCAL and EAVIS software. The results showed that the Wakelet platform was categorized as effective and efficient for use in the university environment, especially in the PGMI IAIN Padangsidimpuan Study Program based on student responses at a percentage of 78.72%. The Wakelet platform is also easily accessible and innovative, varied, and creative based on student responses, which are 80.85%. Besides having an attractive appearance, the Wakelet platform also has benefits, including bringing together all types of student work collected, such as videos, article texts, images, PDF files of papers/e-books / e-journals / e-proceedings, sharing web links, media links,social media and others.

Abstract

The competence becomes a purpose that must be achieved by a teacher based on standardization for developing profession ability so it gets on professional level. Being professional teacher must increase the competence in teacher. Therefore this research aims to describe it (pedagogic, personality, professional, and social ability) of religion teacher in Madrasah Aliyah Swasta (MAS) Al-Washliyah 22 Medan Tembung. This is field research using qualitative naturalistic method where researcher looks for and uses descriptive data such as words and opinion given by research subject. Data collection is conducted in interview and documentation method while analysis technique is conducted in data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Data analysis is conducted while collecting data and after all data are collected or after the research is done in the field. This research shows that the effort that is done by religion teacher in MAS Al-Washliyah 22 Medan Tembung in improving their competence is good but there is still something needed such as teacher personality training and the use of computer science and technology training.

Abstract

Many impacts occurred when the COVID-19 pandemic occurred to disturb all humans on earth. The unrest came from students. One of the student concerns was that learning was carried out online. This case is the basis of the research. The research objective was to explore student difficulties during online learning during the COVID-19 period, the application used during online learning during the COVID-19 period, and the student's response to online learning during COVID-19. This study uses a qualitative method through a case study approach. The research was conducted at IAIN Padangsidimpuan. The informants in this study were 37 PGMI students from 2016-2019. Data collection using unstructured-planned interviews. The research procedure refers to the Creswell model. Data analysis used ATLAS.ti version 8 software. The results of this study obtained information from informants that students experienced many difficulties during online learning during the COVID-19 period, such as the high cost of buying data packages, the problem of internet signals and the exposure of less understood lecturers' material. During online learning, the teleconference application often used is google meet, while the social media that is always used is WhatsApp. So, from the conscience of each informant, they hoped that the learning process would not be thoroughly carried out online to reduce costs for buying internet packages or learning to be carried out face-to-face again on the condition that they adhere to health protocols.

Abstract

This research examines the local wisdom built by the Muslim community of Angkola around the ritual of slaughtering buffalo in the event of death ceremony. This study is a field research combining observation, interviews, and document analysis with a sociological analytical technique to evaluate the tradition beginning with the reasons for its adoption, the process, and the desired outcomes. The study’s findings indicate that the Angkola people’s practice of slaughtering buffalo in burial ceremonies is motivated by a desire to preserve traditional culture as well as a means of protecting the social strata of traditional elders. Furthermore, this ritual appears to be a technique of sustaining societal social cohesiveness. The buffalo slaughter served as the foundation for implementing Islamic ideals in an atmosphere of brotherhood and generosity, with Mora Khanggi and Anak Boru serving as the primary funders. The outcomes of the study demonstrate that the practice of local communities as part of life knowledge can be sociologically connected with Islamic theological teachings. Acculturation of culture with religious teachings can genuinely present various choices for propagating religion while also exhibiting theological flexibility in order to make it more welcoming to its devotees.

Abstract

The learning process cannot be separated from assessment; if it is carried out well, it will get good grades. So that the learning process is carried out well, choose the suitable learning model in the 21st-century era. Because the learning model becomes a design pattern that aims to achieve learning objectives, student learning outcomes get excellent grades. The purpose of the study was to improve Pancasila and Civics education outcomes in aspects of spiritual attitudes, social attitudes, knowledge, and skills of students by applying PjBL learning models in material about obligations, rights, and responsibilities as citizens. The research subjects were class 6-A MIN 5 Medan students, 27 people. This research uses Kurt Lewin's classroom action research method. They collect data using tests, observations, and interviews. Data were analyzed descriptively with qualitative and quantitative approaches assisted by STATCAL software. The study's results proved that students experienced an increase in their learning outcomes with a value of 88.88% in cycle III through applying the PjBL learning model.Keywords: learning outcomes, learning model, 21st-century skills, PjBL, Pancasila and civic education.

Abstract

AbstractThe trend of gamification is currently increasingly popular in the field of education. Gamification such as Kahoot is increasingly being used in learning environments to increase students' interest, motivation, and learning outcomes. This study aims to see the effectiveness of Kahoot in learning in MI/SD PPKn courses. This research is quantitative by using the survey research method. Students of the PGMI IAIN Padangsidimpuan Study Program as the population in this study. The sampling technique used in this study is probability sampling with the type of simple random sampling. The sample was determined using the calculator.net platform. The sample was 104 respondents from 729 populations. A Google Form-assisted questionnaire was used as a data collection technique in this study. STATCAL software is used as a machine to analyze the data of this research. The study results explained that, on average, the survey who responded agreed there were 64 (61.17%) students, while those who responded strongly agreed there were 32 (30.33%) students. So, the Kahoot application as learning gamification in MI/SD PPKn courses at the PGMI IAIN Padangsidimpuan Study Program looks effective. Keywords: Gamification of learning, Kahoot, PPKn MI/SD AbstrakTren gamifikasi saat ini semakin populer di bidang pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat keefektifan Kahoot dalam pembelajaran pada mata kuliah PPKn MI/SD. Riset ini berjenis kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode penelitian survey. Mahasiswa Prodi PGMI IAIN Padangsidimpuan sebagai populasi dalam penelitian ini. Teknik sampel yang digunakan probability sampling dengan jenis sampel random sampling. Sampel ditentukan berbantuan platform calculator.net, sampelnya ialah 104 responden dari 729 populasi. Kuesioner berbantuan Google Form dijadikan sebagai teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini. Software STATCAL dijadikan sebagai mesin untuk menganalisis data penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian memaparkan bahwa rata-rata survey yang merespon setuju ada 64 (61,17%) mahasiswa, sedangkan yang merespon sangat setuju ada 32 (30,33%) mahasiswa. Jadi, aplikasi Kahoot sebagai gamifikasi pembelajaran dalam mata kuliah PPKn MI/SD di Prodi PGMI IAIN Padangsidimpuan terlihat efektif. Kata kunci: Gamifikasi pembelajaran, Kahoot, PPKn MI/SD
